  1. QUOTE (hi8is @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 06:03 PM) Note sure if I'll be able to sleep much tonight - the night before the first SOX game of the year is much better than Christmas Eve used to be as a kid. I set out cookies in case Kong brought me Pale Stockings filled with White Sox winners. QUOTE (knightni @ Apr 5, 2012 -> 07:21 PM) “[Opening Day i]s like Christmas; except it's warmer.” – Pete Rose It's like 40 degrees in IL tonight, I think it was warmer on Xmas this year! P.S. There's no way I'm sleeping tonight....let's F#$%# DO THIS DANKS!!!
  2. This thread is not worthy. I'm now a Marlins fan.
  3. QUOTE (WHITESOXRANDY @ Aug 17, 2011 -> 04:08 PM) But, does he have any sons that made their high school teams so that the Sox can draft them real high ? Easy on KW Jr. LOL I remember he played for the Ju-Co WS Champions (where I went to JC) with Jerry Manuel's son....they hooked me up with tickets in the Wives Section (I didn't know that's why there was a ton of hot chicks around me....Singleton's wife was the best) tickets and I proceeded to get drunk and swear a lot at Manuel for misusing the bullpen. Mrs. Manuel was seated 2 rows down directly in front of me....luckily she was understanding and I got to stay in my seat for the duration. We lost the game and I cursed Jerry's name all I wanted on the way down the ramps
  4. QUOTE (almagest @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 03:58 PM) Especially since you know Leland is just going to pinch hit for the righty, negating that advantage. I don't think Guillen costs us as much as some people do (this team just can't hit AT ALL), but he's not a good manager. Oz did what he's supposed to do....put the decision back on Leyland. Sale faced the 2 lefties and now (w/out the pinch hitter) there's like 4 righties in a row. It was well managed.
  5. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 27, 2011 -> 02:41 PM) De Aza !!!!! Judging by this post I would say good....anyone??
  6. QUOTE (kapzk @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) for the lack of hustle while rounding 2nd Glad I'm not the only one who noticed.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 25, 2011 -> 09:42 PM) That sucked. Adam got nailed at third. CQ continues to rake. Dunn can't do anything right. IBB Rios!?!? I've been reading too many of Greg's posts and now I write sentences as if they are paragraphs.
  8. QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 03:15 PM) The way our hitting has been this week, we might make Huff look like Steve Carlton tonight............................... Sox will dominate. Blind optimism rules!!
  9. QUOTE (Paulstar @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 04:53 PM) Honestly, how can anyone with any knowledge of baseball still bat Dunn 4th? Is it any wonder why Konerko has been so average for the past month? The bat consistently gets taken out of his hands before the game even begins by his own damn manager. Awesome name, awesome avatar, awesome post.
  10. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 05:13 PM) Teahen four days in a row... maybe they're showcasing him for a trade? Yeah, I hear the Sox dugout is getting dangerously low on sunflower seeds and pine tar.
  11. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:20 PM) My girlfriend said yesterday, "Why don't the players just retire? Why don't they find better players? Why don't you like a better team?" This was after I had explained to her why I kept following a team that loses more often than winning....and how there were still 3 full months of games (and potential suffering) to come. Lol, it's comments like those that will make you want to retire your girlfriend and find a better player.
  12. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 06:04 PM) I have absolutely zero confidence in the Sox winning this series. Then root for the twinks. Sorry, but I'm tired of the negativity and the fact that most people on here behave (pack it in) exactly as the Sox do when the Twins come to town. Buck up. Have some confidence. And for Christ sakes quit acting like the Twins are the almighty. They have our number and have had for awhile. It stops tonight!
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 02:52 PM) In the thick of what? The team is under .500. We should start a prediction thread for this series. At the worst it'll make me look bad. At the best, I'll be able to do a reverse jinx cause I'll probably pick we lose all 4. I might go with 3 though. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 7, 2011 -> 02:53 PM) I love this. So simple, yet true. Get to the playoffs. Win 11 games. It doesn't have to be a perfect season fellas. We're not going to get '05 type breaks every year and go wire to wire with 99 wins. Playing to the level of your competition (which is what the Sox do each year) is not something I condone; and yes, this team could've come out hot this spring and had the division by the throat by now. As it stands, we don't and we still are not in that bad of shape. So for now, get off the ledge and TRY to remember that we are in a mediocre (at best) division and that we are chasing the Cleveland Indians and Detroit F#$% Tigers.
  14. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 06:36 PM) Yes, but as fathom pointed out, we haven't scored more than 3 runs off a starter in about a month. I don't know if we'll ever score a lot of runs for several games in a row. I don't think it's in this lineup's makeup. LMAO....yeah it's in the "makeup" for sure. We are 4.5 back and in the thick despite (as someone else mentioned) playing to about 60% of our capacity ALL year long. At some point or another the Sox will find the right mix of players and this lineup will explode and propel us to a Division Championship behind our sometimes spotty, but still very solid staff. Book it.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2011 -> 03:02 PM) The twins will will all four or three of four. Bank it. Our only hope is in Game One. If they win game one, they take all 4. Thank you ZOLTAR.
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 04:38 PM) i would like to thank bucket of suck and CLEE 45 for declaring the game over in the 5th inning and proclaiming randy wells to be untouchable. without your undying support and unwavering loyalty, the sox never would have made this comeback LOL. I hope you take this as a compliment KyYlE....for some reason I picture your real world self to look much like your avatar on Soxtalk.
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 03:10 PM) Oz should be axed after this game for the bunt attempt. Our offense needs to start pounding home runs. "Oz gone for this, Oz axed for that, heads should roll" ....on and on and on and so forth and whatnot
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 1, 2011 -> 01:22 PM) Really...no it's not. Yeah, beer and anyone is better than no beer at all
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 03:25 PM) I'd walk Peavy here
  20. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 03:11 PM) The Internet is still a mysterious place to you, isn't it? Lol, very much so...it's not working for me.
  21. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) MLB TV free game of the day! Link??
  22. I think it started last night....and ends next Saturday the 9th vs the Twinks. 10 in row...MB and JFP get us the first two and we start to roll into the break. I'm all in. LOL
  23. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Jun 30, 2011 -> 10:57 AM) Seven. The streak should have gone eight, but in a game umpired by Joe West, Ozzie and Buehrle are ejected before the first pitch is thrown. West states that, "It was a pre-emptive strike. I didn't feel like raising my arms to signal a balk." Ozzie becomes so infuriated that he runs screaming from the clubhouse wearing nothing but a cowboy hat and assless chaps. MLB intervenes and forces the Sox to forfeit. Excellent.
  24. AJ dogs it on pop ups and infield grounders just as much as the next guy. Lilli looked scared to pick the ball up twice in CF last night, as if it were a live grenade. Rios just makes me sad.....but not as sad as our offense. It's been said over and over; bring up DV, he's ready.
