  1. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 01:52 PM) Yes, I too have been hoping for the Yankees to sign Crawford and allowing Kenny to make a deal for Gardner. Would the Yankees want Floyd? Pierre-Gardner-Rios. NOTHING would hit the ground out there. Then with Morel and Alexei in the infield, our team would be stacked with defense. If Beckham and Paulie are our worst defenders, then we are looking REALLY good out there. I was thinking Pierre-GRANDERSON-Rios but Granderson is awfully expensive.
  2. I wonder if Rios wants another adquate fielder to play along side? LOL one of the funniest points of last season was when Teahen playing RF and there was a pop fly to right... Teahen had his hands up like he had no idea where it was. Rios easily ran over and caught it, and just looked at Teahen. That was hilarious.
  3. DJ Carrasco would have been nice to bring back. The Mets only gave him 2.5 mil for 2 years.
  4. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 11:09 AM) De Aza. I thought De Aza himself was injury prone. Oh well... he looked good at the end of last season. I hope he does well.
  5. The Sox won't be able to re sign Andruw Jones, will they? So who is going to be the back up outfielder? Who'll step in if Rios or Pierre goes down? Teahen can't do that.
  6. Man am I glad he will not be wearing a White Sox uniform. QUOTE (bschmaranz @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 09:31 AM) Another example of why athletes should talk about sports and um... sports. You're right. I hope that none of the White Sox ever say anything about their political beliefs. I don't wanna know. I don't want politics to soil my love of the White Sox.
  7. Anybody on MLB Network?? What are they saying?
  8. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 09:58 AM) YES!!!!
  9. Anybody wanna bet that KW is still not done with the line up??
  10. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 09:44 AM) I thought you were through with Paulie? I was just frustrated with Paulie holding the Sox hostage. I'm glad he's back. I would have been happy with D. Lee too, but I'm happy with Konerko.
  11. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 09:41 AM) #mlb #whitesox The Chicago White Sox have reached a preliminary agreement with 1B Paul Konerko on a 3-year contract - Nightangale 'Bout f***ING time!!! Now fix the bullpen for us KW and then let's go have a f***ing snack...
  12. QUOTE (chisox2334 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 07:48 AM) so what is everyone's guess that will happened today? In a SHOCKER, White Sox sign Carl Crawford for 5/$100 million. Then Derrek Lee signs at a one year discounted rate because "he really wants to be in Chicago and wants to win another ring, and the White Sox are committed to winning a championship". Everybody hold hands and sing IMAGINE...
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 05:23 PM) Lee is younger than Konerko and has had nearly 200 more plate appearances than PK14 over the last 4 years, with the difference being that PK14 missed more due to injury. Konerko is about 7 months younger I think...
  14. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 05:00 PM) Does anyone have a clue what Lee would like to do next year? You have to think that D. Lee would want to be with the Sox. Remember last year when he exercised his no trade clause while he was with the Cubs because he didn't want to leave the Chicago area? And I believe that he is still friends with Juan Pierre and Ozzie Guillen. They all won the World Series together in 2003 with the Marlins. And I bet he thinks that the Sox will have a very good team and could make a lot of noise in the playoffs next year. I bet D. Lee is hoping that Konerko shuns the Sox.
  15. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 04:46 PM) I love Paulie as much as the next guy, but remember at the season's end he was saying how this time it won't necessary be about the money. Just sayin. If it's not about the money, then PK needs to quit f***ing about and say that and tell the Sox he's not coming back. If it's not a money issue then what the hell else does he want?? It is kind of sounding like Paulie is using the Sox to drive up his price and get more money out of the Diamondbacks. I don't blame KW for not pissing around with this anymore. Bring on D. Lee and the bullpen arms.
  16. QUOTE (joeynach @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 02:56 PM) Yeah Andrew Sisco, Ryan Bukvich, David Aardsma are all calling in. Ryan Bukvich is a right handed type of pitcher.
  17. QUOTE (dmbjeff @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 01:05 PM) Plus it allows you in on next year's 1B free agent frenzy. With the Red Sox and Yanks both with top notch 1B, anything is possible in relation to getting Fielder or maybe even Pujols. It never ceases to amaze me how Pujols' numbers make Teixiera, Fielder and even A Gonzalez look like lil b****es in comparison.
  18. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 12:05 PM) Why is it dragging on? How many of the top free agents have signed? Because what happens if a mystery team comes in and snags D. Lee and LaRoche? Who is going to play first if Konerko decides he doesn't want to come back to the Sox? Kenny's plan B or C can't sit around forever and wait on Konerko to make up his freaking mind. And I don't know about you, but I am NOT comfortable with Viciedo being our 1b.
  19. If this thing drags on more, I guarantee you'll see a see on mlbrumors how D. Lee and the White Sox have started contract negotiations. Konerko's hand needs to be forced.
  20. I wonder what it would take to get D. Lee and Scott Downs??
  21. QUOTE (pittshoganerkoff @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 11:02 AM) I'll take the over. It could feasibly be like this: Rios - 25 Dunn - 40 Konerko - 35 D. Lee - 30 (plus gold glove defense at a cheaper rate) Quentin - 30 We'll have to see how PK is. 35 might be a bit high. And who knows about Quentin...depends on which Quentin shows up next year. But, I would think 120+ is a safe bet.
  22. DAMMIT PAULIE!!!! f*** it... call D. Lee and get him and some other pieces since Paulie is being a lil b****...
  23. Has there been any news on what kind of contract D. Lee is looking for?
  24. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 03:06 AM) The fact that Dunn and Pierzynski both deferred money in order to try and get Konerko back, and Konerko still didn't resign, makes me think Konerko is being a big jerk. I'm starting to think "good riddance" to Konerko. This right here is making me more and more like the thought of D. Lee + a solid reliever in a White Sox uniform next year. KW is trying to get stuff done and Paulie better not screw around and cause us to end up with nothing. If he does, then he'll lose some love among Sox fans.
  25. If all else fails we can always pry Brian Anderson from the Yanks...
