  1. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 01:04 PM) I believe PK was one of the ones talking, saying Ozzie's act grew old and players were tired of it. That's what I was thinking too. But you know what? WINNING negates some of that, and the Marlins have a chance to win next year.
  2. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 11:30 AM) Good point J4L. Marlins apparently won't pursue Fielder. Opening for PK in Miami? Hmmm.... VERY interesting. I wonder how Konerko would feel about going to play for Ozzie again.
  3. I'd love to see Kenny fleece the Rangers too. Again... it's a good thing he IS "asking for the moon".
  4. QUOTE (pktmotion @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:42 AM) Danks and Konerko will be traded to the Rangers. Ugh I hate the Rangers about as much as I hate the Redsox. But oh well... as long as the White Sox get a LOT back in return for them...
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 10:06 AM) Twitter Jon_Heyman: Wilson signs with angels $75M 5 yrs [via Twitter] Man it must be nice to be a multi billionaire able to give out money like it grows on trees.
  6. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:18 AM) Trade him to the Cubs? Or one of a few other teams looking for 1B's. Pujols signing with the Angels makes both Kendry Morales and Mark Trumbo expendable - which is going to make it harder to get a haul for Paul Konerko.
  7. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:18 AM) Let me guess: 1) Sometime in the past year, Keith Law talked about how overrated Doyle is. 2) Sometime in the next couple days, Keith Law will talk about how awesome Doyle is and how dumb the Sox were to leave him unprotected. I don't think there's ever been a White Sox move Keith Law liked. He's already poo pooed the Santos - Molina trade. To hell with him.
  8. QUOTE (Reddy @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:13 AM) A-Rod money right there I wonder what they do with Kendry Morales now.
  9. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2011 -> 09:03 AM) Pujols to the Angels...done? (according to a few major Twitter sources) Holy sh*t the Angels DID get Pujols...
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:09 PM) Sounds like CJ Wilson might pull the trigger for the Marlins soon. I'll be very surprised if the Rangers don't go hard after Danks. Wouldn't that mean that the Rangers would be more likely to give up more talent now than they would have been before Wilson signed with the Marlins? I applaud KW for holding steady and "asking for the moon".
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 09:07 PM) Oh yeah, I forgot, oops. Was more of a sarcastic trade proposal anyway. Maybe they'll include Konerko in any trade request. I could see it happening. Why keep him around if the team is rebuilding. Plus it seems like Dunn really needs to play somewhere in the field if there is any hope of salvaging his career with a bounce back year.
  12. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 08:42 PM) Hudson, Allen, C. Young for Danks, Floyd, Thornton??? Deal. Brandon Allen? He's not there anymore. They gave up on him.
  13. The Diamondbacks are willing to trade prospects. Good trade partners for the White Sox? Maybe they'll send some of their prospects for Danks, Floyd or Thornton.
  14. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:17 PM) If KW wants to unload those guys, he will have no problem doing so. He's asking for the moon right now. And he should ask for the moon and the sun too. Would everyone feel better if he gave them away for nothing? That's how negotiations go. Start high and work from a position of strength. Who knows... maybe a team will get desperate and give up something very good.
  15. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 06:16 PM) So Kenny comes to the meetings late, and is leaving early? Great... Come on man... it's not like the guy has to physically be there to make a deal. If something comes up I'm sure he'll be all over it.
  16. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) Yeah, tattoos make a person badass. His tattoos alone prove he's capable of kicking Christian Bale's ass LOL funny guy...
  17. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 01:53 PM) You cried on a show. Goodbye. He was a bad ass. Plus his pitching arm is covered in tattoos, so that nullifies the crying on a show.
  18. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 11:07 AM) Really good dude. he's done well for himself on beating the odds when he was once a failed position player (not to mention has a very hot wife. ). Best of luck in Toronto Sergio. My sentiments exactly. Good dude.
  19. QUOTE (Jake @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 12:45 PM) Call me crazy, but it really isn't a leap of faith to say this team could contend. If you give that Dunn returns to normal, it's nowhere close to a leap. If we do lose all of Buehrle, Floyd, Danks - pitching would take a leap to believe in though. Hey Crazy, stop being crazy. Ha I'm just kidding. I too think they can contend. Well I HOPE they can contend. I don't think KW has even gotten started and this team will look a lot different by the time spring training rolls around.
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 07:59 PM) Honestly, I really don't give a s*** about the Royals, Pirates and what they've done the last two decades. The Sox have been throwing s*** against the wall for half a decade now and here we are. No farm and terrible contracts all over the place. The game was moving in a different direction and the Sox failed to adapt. What the hell is the difference between 65-70 wins and 75-80 wins? What? You were technically "in it" a month longer? Say what you will about the Cubs, but at least they have a plan now. Time will tell if they can execute it. Honestly, I'm afraid if Mark signs here that KW will use that as an excuse to bring back CQ, Danks, etc. I can see it now - "Hey, we didn't bring back Mr. Buehrle to throw in the towel for 2012.' f*** that. The Cardinals barely made it to the playoffs, got hot and won it all. The Sox had the talent to do something similar. It just didn't pan out. I see what you're saying, but still it could have been done.
  21. LOL Konerko said he was slow in the Little Leagues. Speed is not one of his strong suits.
  22. QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 05:56 PM) My guess is Konerko I wouldn't doubt it. To be truthful, I wouldn't blame the guy either. He's getting long in the tooth and I know he wants to get a chance for one more ring before he retires. Well if that's true then maybe Alonso IS on his way here. But he's not good defensively? That's no good.
  23. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 05:50 PM) cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Most interesting thing I heard today is there is a Sox vet who would like to be traded if KW starts trading proven players for potential. 1 minute ago Favorite Retweet Reply My guess is Peavy if this isn't typical Cowley bunk. Didn't Peavy actually come out and say that he didn't want to be a part of a rebuilding process before the beginning of last season?
  24. Maybe the Reds want Dunn back. Maybe not.
  25. QUOTE (Tex @ Dec 5, 2011 -> 02:00 PM) I saw him play, and with all due regard to Josh Fields, Santo was the best thirdbaseman that played in Chicago in my lifetime. Herbert Perry says hello.
