Would Q even be eligible for the AS game? I thought they had a rule about pitchers and how many days rest they got before the game. Like any starter pitching on Sunday wouldn't be eligible. Does that rule extend to Saturday as well?

So I was at the bowling alley yesterday watching my daughter bowl and I happened to look over at the wall where they display all the high scores for the season. One guy had an 857 series! That's insane. I'm not even sure I could hit that in 4 games much less 3. I've only come close to an 800 series once in my life with a 791. I've had one 300 game and one 299 game on separate occasions and even on those days I was only around 700 total. Luckily the guy that did it is one of our HS coaches. So I know our girls will be with someone that really knows what he's doing.

Yet somehow I found multiple opportunities to make $. I agree with this. Real world experience is so much more valuable than classroom experience. When I got my first IT job I learned more in my first 6 months there than I ever did in any of my classes. I'm sure a lot of other careers are similair. It's just not possible to duplicate the real world in a classroom setting.

I have a nephew that is autistic. He is non-verbal and my wife and I have often wondered what is going to happen to him when he gets older. At this point I don't see him ever being able to care for himself. My daughters also have a friend that is autistic but a bit higher functioning. She is 20 and out of HS now but doesn't really have much of a plan for the future. She lived with us for a couple of years but now is back living with her mom. She could probably hold down a job but it would probably be one that is low-skill/low-pay. Again I have no idea what is going to happen down the road when her mom is no longer able to care for her.

Is there a stat out there that shows the team win/loss record for a particular pitcher's start? Like say a pitcher made 33 starts in a season. What was the team's win/loss record for those 33 games? Or is that something you would have to calculate by hand? I'm just curious how that stat would look for Quintana compared to other top-tier starters.

Bowling is an indoor sport but it can still be miserable bowling in the summertime when the outside temp is 90+. I bowled with my daughter in an adult/youth baker tournament on Saturday. We did ok but it was very hot and humid. Almost like their AC couldn't keep up. Everything felt wet. Even the drink we bought was sweating like mad. We had a target score of 688 (over 4 games) and bowled 695. Our lowest game was a 130 and that was the last game where I got tired and lost my line. I missed a 10-pin in the 9th frame that could've helped. Then last night I took my ball out and realized I made a mistake leaving it in the trunk all day. It got so hot that some of the oil actually leaked out of it. All the tape in my thumb hole melted and fell out the first time I tried to throw it so I had a sticky mess from the residue. I've been thinking about going to a switch-grip but not sure if the expense is worthwhile.

It was a perfectly clear night so we stood out and watched and sure enough at 9:02 we saw it. We got to watch it travel across the entire sky. It was pretty cool.
