  1. QUOTE (Ezio Auditore @ Nov 3, 2016 -> 10:03 AM) I can't really talk s*** to them anymore, but I guess I'll have to settle for "we did it first" We still have twice as many championships as they do in the last 100 years.
  2. We've lived in our house since 1999 and last year was the first year (and so far only time) that we stayed home to pass out candy. Before that, we would always get together with friends and/or family and take our kids out as a big group. There was also a 5-year stretch where I didn't get home from work until the trick or treating was already almost over. This year we passed out candy at our seasonal camping site during their Halloween weekend at the end of September. Then we passed out more candy Saturday night at a trunk or treat that was put on by the local HS bowling team which my daughter is a part of. We gave out probably $60 worth of candy between those two events, so we decided not to pass out candy at home this year. Even when I did go outside I didn't see many kids. Last year we got maybe 30 or so. Hardly worth it anymore. So many different places do the trunk or treat now. I think that's where most of the kids go instead of walking the neighborhood.
  3. QUOTE (Carlo Paz @ Oct 27, 2016 -> 12:25 AM) Jesus, that catch by Uribe. Probably the most unheralded play in MLB history. Derek Jeter makes a lesser but similar catch mid season and it's on every highlight reel for all time. This x1000. That was literally the 2nd to last out of a 1 - 0 World Series championship-clinching game with the tying run on 2nd base and it gets almost zero recognition. Hell, considering the circumstances, I'd put it above Willie Mays' catch. His happened in game 1.
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 03:45 PM) Doesn't mean anything to me since I don't read the comics. EDIT: Plus, it's completely different when you compare a comic still to video footage of someone's head getting bashed in repeatedly. I don't either. I'm just saying that it's not like they were making it extra gory just for shock factor or anything like that. They were just following the already established scenes. You can google side-by-side comparisons and see how they copied many of the comic panels almost exactly. I don't think it was any worse than anything else we've seen on the show already. I remember when they discovered they could cover themselves in the walkers' blood and walk among them unnoticed. One of the characters literally had some intestines hanging around his neck. Or the time that Daryl's brother stuck his bloody stump on that hot plate to stop the bleeding. Or any time we see somebody literally torn apart by the walkers. The only difference in this episode is that the gore was coming from a character that many people loved. So that's probably made it seem worse.
  5. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 26, 2016 -> 08:56 AM) Teams that lost the first game of the WS have lost 12 of the last 13, and 17 of the last 19. In 7 game playoff series, the Cubs are 0-9 when they lose the first game. Hopefully things will continue. http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/page/playo...e-trouble-think
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Oct 25, 2016 -> 05:20 PM) After watching The Walking Dead season premier last night, the wife and I both looked at each other and questioned why we continue to watch the show. It's become straight up torture porn. Just felt sick watching it. They basically shot it exactly the way it happened in the comics.
  7. I got a PS4 for my birthday this past weekend. I got the Uncharted 4 bundle and also picked up MLB The Show and The Last of Us. I know nothing about the Uncharted series but I've been enjoying the game so far. I think there were some references to the previous 3 games in a couple of cut scenes that I didn't totally understand. I had been playing The Show 12 on my ps3 for a while. The upgrade to 16 is quite a jump. It just sucks that I have to start over from scratch with my created player in RTTS. Haven't cracked open The Last of Us yet. Heard good things about it though. Maybe I'll get to it this weekend.
  8. QUOTE (iamshack @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 06:59 PM) I'm pretty sure the tips get split up amongst all the folks behind the counter at most places. I don't mind tipping because these people typically aren't making a whole lot of money. 10% is typically not a whole lot of money on a normal carry out order, to be honest. Usually no more than $3, unless I order 2 pizzas or something, in which case, I'll keep up the tipping as long as they keep making me good pizzas. When I get some sloppy ones, I usually don't tip next time. The people at McDonald's aren't making very much either. Why doesn't anyone tip them?
  9. QUOTE (shipps @ Oct 24, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) Whoa whoa whoa, why the hell would anyone tip picking up an order? That is the whole damn point of going to pick the food up yourself! People have taken the tipping s*** too far. The girl wanted a tip because she walked the bag from the back counter to the cash register? No, that is bulls***. I am seriously mad at this right now. Thanks for pissing me off kyle. I don't even know who the tip would go to. AFAIK, the cooks make regular hourly wages and don't rely on tips as part of their salary. I don't think handing someone a bag and taking their money is tip-worthy either. Otherwise we should be tipping McDonald's workers too.
  10. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 19, 2016 -> 10:37 AM) The next spin-off should contain the word "definitely". I see "defiantly", "definetly", "definitly", etc. on a daily basis I always had trouble with that word until I realized that it has the word "finite" in the middle of it.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 23, 2016 -> 11:20 PM) Suspect on the loose. Four shot and killed in mall in state of Washington. Sickening. Again, the lunatic is on the loose. The victims got shot in a Macy's. Our country leaders, citizens, everyone in the USA should be embarrassed. You can't go to a mall on a Friday night without a good chance you'll take a bullet. Sad. Is it like this in other countries?????? Let's get our act together. I haven't run the numbers but I'll bet you have a better chance of winning the lottery and becoming a millionaire than getting shot at a mall on a random Friday night.
  12. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 21, 2016 -> 12:05 AM) I'm all about the military. If ONE military man or woman is upset then I am upset. I respect the hell outta the military. Colin is going about this in a very wrong way. I'm curious what the "right" way to protest is?
  13. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 12:31 PM) Shooting seemed to be unreasonable, but why is he walking back to the car if they're telling him not to? All you're doing in that situation is making the cops think you're going to reach for a gun. I couldn't hear what they were telling him to do in either one of the videos.
  14. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Sep 20, 2016 -> 07:24 AM) Why would he walk back to his car with his hands up and reach back into his car? That is what I am seeing from the video, is that not what happened? I never saw him reach into the car. It looks like he was standing next to the car with his hands up, they tasered him, shot him and then let him lie on the ground and bleed to death.
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 03:53 PM) This probably isn't the right thread but I didn't want to open a Black Lives Matter thread. I had a question. I was watching the video today of the Yale students ganging up on some professor who was upset that the administration sent out a memo warning students to not dress up inappropriately for Halloween. Like have a costume that might offend. They ganged up on him and were screaming at him. One woman was crying and said she expected a "safe space" at Yale where she could be protected from offensive people/language. Is that the purpose of Yale?? To be a safe space? This should probably be a separate thread because this entire topic is several layers deep. I had to click 4 different links to really understand the whole story. What it seems to boil down to is that college students are completely shocked that some people have a different viewpoint about some things. Watching the videos it seems that the only thing they want is an apology rather than listen to the explanation of why the person feels the way they do. What's odd is that the professor they are confronting isn't even the one that wrote the email that they are upset about.
  16. QUOTE (myrlage @ Sep 15, 2016 -> 10:43 PM) Bought the same lawn mower at home depot. I had 2 mins before the store closed and a guy standing there told me he owned it and loved it. About 3 weeks later I about did the same thing to a .prospective buyer.. AND my father in law when picking his up someone said, "oh, that's the best lawn mower!". In my lawn biz i had a cheap $200 mower and it would break every 2-3 years, but I wish I would have gone with this Honda for our biz.The double blade mulch is the ultimate! Why was the link in the quoted post changed?
  17. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 14, 2016 -> 12:11 AM) I said I heard some military on the radio pissed off. These people don't sound pissed off to me. https://twitter.com/ShimmiHendrix/status/77...src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/KristenMeghan/status/77...src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/Baltic_Avenue/status/77...src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/colemanachase/status/77...src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/SunnyAnderson/status/77...src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/cmclymer/status/7708273...src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/DEdwardBeck/status/7708...src=twsrc%5Etfw
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 12:29 AM) Our country is in deep trouble. How could the cops shoot and kill this guy after all the incidents we've had lately? Are they f***ing dumb as dirt or just plain evil? If only somebody would do something to get people talking about this problem and maybe work towards finding a solution. Oh, here's one.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) A lot of military have died protecting freedom. Including our freedom of speech. Which is the freedom Colin was/is exercising...
  20. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) Mr. Robot Rules All! I always like to read the articles about the show the day after it airs to see if I someone else noticed something that I may have missed. Apparently I missed something pretty big last night. This is from the first article I read: One of the commenters on the article mentioned this: I’ve though the same thing myself and could never tell if it was the actress or just the way she plays the character. Watching her last night on the aftershow I’ve come to the conclusion that it’s the actress. It’s just her personality.
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ Sep 8, 2016 -> 09:54 AM) I interpreted his post as he only lost the card, not the sticker. The sticker comes on the card. The question is whether or not he put the sticker on the plate before he lost the card.
  22. Had a good night last night. 258, 265 & 237 for a 760 series. Then 2 baker games with my daughter and we shot 214 and 255. I think the very last shot on my second game I had a 7 count. Literally everything else was a strike or a 9 spare. Haven't had a night like that in a long, long time.
  23. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 6, 2016 -> 12:35 PM) Where do you stand to throw the straight ball at the 10 pin? On the right side and just try to throw it straight to the left of the gutter? Or do I count my nine lines to the left and just aim at the 10? Like this:
  24. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) Man, she can bowl. Do kids that age ever get tired of the sport? Or is she a bowling enthusiast? Some kids get tired of it. Others continue to bowl their entire lives. I've been bowling since I was 5 or 6. She hasn't lost the passion for it yet so I hope she'll continue with it for as long as possible. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 5, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) I have a question. I have a decent curve (hook or whatever it's called) and I usually am in the pocket. My method allows me to have a fighting chance for most spares. However, as a tall righty, I cannot for the life of me use my curve ball to pick up the 10 pin alone. I normally would go nine lines from my normal strike position and try to hit the second arrow with my 10 o clock grip. Instead I fail miserably. I've gotten to the point I scrap any normal strategy of bowling and just try to hit it straight on with a straight ball cause I am so flustered. To see the 10 pin there is sad cause I know I can't make it. the seven pin is easy for me. Throwing straight at the 10 pin is the proper way to hit it. If you’re using a spare ball that doesn’t hook and shooting straight at it, you shouldn’t have too many problems. I just recently started using a plastic ball for picking up my 10-pins and it works great. Even if I put a little spin on it, it doesn’t hook at all.
  25. This doesn't even include yesterday's BS. Link EDIT: Ok, there wasn't a BS yesterday. Robertson just took the loss.
