This week and next week I have to work Monday, off Tues/Wed, then work Thurs/Fri. It's so weird working today. It feels like a Monday and a Friday at the same time.

I know most of the stuff I’m getting because I was there when it was purchased. Same with my kids because they are getting more and more difficult to buy for the older they get. There are a few things they are getting that they don’t know about and probably the same for me. I came home the other day and noticed that there was a stack of wrapped presents with my name of them. Then I noticed that my kids had wrapped them with duct tape. The tradition in our family is that it should take a minimum of 5 minutes to get through the multiple layers of tape, paper and boxes.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 11:06 AM) The Wii U is much more powerful than the 360 and PS3. Unless you mean One and PS4, those are much more powerful than the Wii U. I actually meant the Wii not the Wii U.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:49 AM) We'll take up a collection for you so you can make it through the holidays. I was actually shocked that I matched the powerball twice in a row. But I think I'll be ok. My wife told me that she gave a co-worker $10 for gas when said co-worker used her last $2 on scratch off tickets. Then later a customer came in and gave her a $20 gift card. Kind of a pay it forward in reverse. So that makes up for my $4 loss.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 19, 2013 -> 10:08 AM) My mother-in-law bought it on Thanksgiving and didnt know who it was going to be for yet. i drooped a few hints to my wife that it sure was something I;d like to play.. hint hint hint. From what I've read, there are two different modes. A sandbox-type mode where you can have any character you want to play as and it allows multiplayer. Then there are individual "worlds" that only the characters from that world can access. So you can't have Woody and Buzz Lightyear running around Halloweentown with Jack Skellington. I don't think the individual worlds offer multiplayer but if they do, at the very least you have to have two characters from that specific world. I've also read that the WiiU version has less features because the WiiU is underpowered compared to the others.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 17, 2013 -> 10:04 PM) Which lucky Soxtalker won the Mega Millions? I bought $5 worth last Friday before it rolled over the last time. I won $2. I went to cash it in but the cashier misunderstood me and ended up giving me $2 worth of tickets instead. This time around I won $1. So net loss of $4.

When is the deadline that we have to have insurance by before the fine kicks in? My wife has still heard nothing from her employer on whether they are going to offer insurance next year or not.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 07:14 AM) Got the Disney Infinity starter pack for my kids. Don't know if I am prepared for the financial drain those toys will provide We looked into it but the cost is what really turned me off about it. The kids were kinda/sorta interested in it but not really enough to justify it. We bought them a bunch of UB Funkeys when they were popular and they lost interest in those after a while as well. At least they were only 7 bucks for each new character. Plus we’d end up having to buy another PS3 so that I could still play my games.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 18, 2013 -> 09:23 AM) How about the "candles lit, dinner made, wine in hand, anbd my HUBBY!!! Life is so good." Well b****, if it was so good you wouldnt be looking for other people's approval on the internet /end rant You must be friends with some of the same people I'm friends with because I have one that makes that exact post every other day.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 12:23 PM) I just read they are bringing another character back. Which should be pretty obvious if you know that his spin-off show was just canceled.

QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 09:11 PM) The real reason you don't want me having rights is because I'm not so easily controlled. What does this mean exactly? Do you pick and choose which laws you want to follow?

I started at $26K in 1998. For a 20-year-old, that was a lot of money. Then I bought a house and had a third kid. The money didn't go quite as far then. The 2 and 3% raises didn't help much either.

QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Dec 16, 2013 -> 07:24 AM) Vinny may be one of the most annoying animated characters ever. He's Family Guy's Jar Jar Binks. Agreed. He was even worse than “New Brian” who thankfully only lasted one episode.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 04:33 PM) I thought it was his decision as an actor to not come back which is why he can ride off into the sunset. That was what I thought but i could be wrong, and I hope I am. I've read that they plan on bringing him back.

QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 12:37 PM) "You can't leave, your car is boxed in," oh, I'll leave my keys here and go to the bathroom for you. That was dumb. I saw that coming the second he set his keys on the counter. When she wanted to leave and he said she was blocked in I told my wife that she was going to take his truck. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 12:37 PM) I do not think Nero is back next year. Why not? I don't see any reason he wouldn't be.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Dec 13, 2013 -> 12:21 AM) I think bathroom attendants are worse than the bums that think you need help calling for a cab, but it's sure close. I honestly don't think I've ever experienced either one of these things. I knew they existed but I've never run into one. Either I need to get out more or live in a bigger city.

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 09:10 AM) An extremely sad SoA finale. Was that season or series? Season, although Kurt has said that next season will be the last. He said (paraphrasing) that he knows how he wants it to and it might not be happy but it will provide hope. This finale obviously ensures that it won't be a "happily ever after" ending. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) The show really has not recovered from Opie's death, that was a bad move that proved nothing in the grand scheme of things except to eliminate one of the best characters on the show. I really miss Opie and agree that he was one of the better characters but it makes me wonder how much different things would've turned out if he lived. I think his death was what really started to push Jax towards getting out of guns and possibly out of SAMCRO completely. QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ Dec 12, 2013 -> 09:49 AM) The show has really become the life of Jax and is more of a soap opera. Losing all of the interesting characters (the finale, Clay, Opie) and then not replacing them with anything worth watching has really hurt the show. That's always what the show has been about IMO. We see and learn more about his life and background than any other character on the show. Nero isn't exactly a replacement for Clay or Opie but I've liked the addition of him. Can't wait for next season to start now.

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 06:27 PM) Italian BMT for me with the occasional chicken breast. Honey Oat bread. I get the chicken breast sometimes too but it’s always a hassle to get them to nuke the chicken before they put in on the bread and toast it. They seem to think putting a cold chicken breast in the toaster warms it up sufficiently. Instead it leaves the middle of it cold.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 10, 2013 -> 04:48 PM) It has turkey salami, but for sure that doesnt count. I was hoping I deleted that post before anyone saw it. I get the cold cut combo at Subway all the time and never noticed salami on it. Then I checked their website and sure enough it said salami. I guess being turkey salami would be the reason why I didn’t notice. I don’t like regular salami that much. How many more times can I type the word salami?

QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 6, 2013 -> 05:16 PM) Walmart grocery is cheapest place by me unless I want to drive 30 mins to Woodmans in Kenosha. I hate grocery shopping. People are rude and inconsiderate in the aisles or just don't pay attention. Once in awhile I'll go to just get a few things and go in the express lane and it never fails I get behind someone with over 20 items. Workers don't say anything and I don't blame them. I think if that happens, an extra $10 fee is in order. We go grocery shopping every two weeks. We set a budget, make a list of what we want to buy, look for sales, cut coupons and still end up going over budget almost every time. I just hate the amount of time and energy it takes from start to finish. From making the list, checking the pantry and fridge to see what we have and what we need, spending 2-3 hours in the store, loading it all in the car, carrying it into the house and then putting it all away. Not to mention going to multiple stores when one is sold out of something.

I donated about 10 bags of clothes to the goodwill last week if that counts for anything.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) Into the Blue is an awesome cheesy movie if you want to see Jessica Alba in her prime and wearing only bikinis for pretty much the entire film. Now that you mention it, I did see that movie. I forgot that Paul Walker was in it. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 06:14 PM) And Eight Below is a seriously underrated movie, although it's a Disney flick, but they usually put out pretty decent (albeit predictable/formulaic) films. (Not to be confused with Cuba Gooding's Snow Dogs). More than Marley & Me, that's the definitive movie for dog lovers to identify with and get a bit teary-eyed when watching. We actually owned a husky when that came out and took our kids to the theater to see it. Our husky passed away a few years ago and my wife still gets a little teary-eyed when she sees another one. Now she’ll probably never watch that movie again since she was a big Paul Walker fan as well.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Dec 2, 2013 -> 02:05 PM) The name rang a bell once someone told me he was the star of Fast and Furious, but I couldn't tell you anything else he has been in or what he has done outside of those movies. Aside from the Fast and Furious movies, I remember him in Pleasantville, Varsity Blues, She’s All That and Eight Below.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 26, 2013 -> 02:21 PM) Does your town/county have an electronic recycling center? I googled it and the only places I could find were American and Best Buy. American doesn't charge anything so I'll probably go there.
