Correct. If they pick in the top 6 this upcoming draft (via lottery), the highest they can pick in the 1st round the following year will be 11th. The Nationals are currently in this situation. -

Kinda surprised they didn't roll the dice on a bounceback and possible trade. It is what it is. I couldn't be more apathetic on what next year's team will be. All I know is it will dreadful.

Just sign some bounce back candidates and hope you can extract some value at the deadline. Lost season anyways.
