  1. I still don't see why you guys have Hawkins rated so high. Not even close to top 10 IMO. Fast forward to one year from now.....If he has similar numbers then, will you still rank him in Top Ten? Not me.
  2. Who did his contract? Kenny or Rick?
  3. For those who who don't like the trade, Garcia is at or near the top of our prospect list. He should contribute in 2014.
  4. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:53 PM) End is near for Mitchell or Walker. Mitchell currently on the 40 man roster; probably not so next year.
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 30, 2013 -> 09:52 PM) Makes you wonder about Mitchell, Walker, Thompson and Hawkins' future if they're trading for outfielders like Jacobs and Garcia. What's to wonder?
  6. With Rios hurting himself, does that mean Sox will trade Casper Wells instead?
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 06:15 PM) Well their stats are horrible so there's that. Waiting for the Sox Spin on them.....
  8. QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 06:50 PM) Why would axelrod be the emergency starter if Peavy got traded??? Ax has prob shot his wad as a starter
  9. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 05:48 PM) How about we trade Rios for Pence? Uh, I think Sox are after prospects, position players preferably, not Pence.
  10. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 05:39 PM) I am listening to the Tampa - Boston game, hoping the Rays' announcers will say something. Not yet. Well, the Tampa announcers just discussed the trade, but did not say anything about who the Rays will give up.
  11. The Tampa deal reminds of when we got Carl Everett (first time) from Rangers, and we had A slew of prospects that they could pick out for their six players. It took a few days before it was leaked who the available players were.
  12. I am listening to the Tampa - Boston game, hoping the Rays' announcers will say something. Not yet.
  13. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Jul 29, 2013 -> 05:14 PM) Heyman confirms A's out on Peavy, STL, BOS, BAL still possible. ESPN's Buster Olney was talking up his sleeve last night.
  14. Does it bother a promising prospect like yourself that your parent team is doing so poorly? Out of all of your fellow White Sox prospects that you have played with, who is the best? (You have to name one).
  15. Anyone familiar with Oakland's farm system?

QUOTE (OilCan @ Jul 24, 2013 -> 09:08 PM) Semien is hitting himself to a promotion. .309/.460/.603/1.063 splits for July. Also, 19 walks and 8 strikeouts for July?!? Are we sure he's a White Sox prospect?? But, everybody rates Hawkins waaay above Semien. I don't get it. If Hawkins had those numbers.......
  17. It's been almost a month since that article appeared and broke the news that Sox are sellers, and it sure has livened things up on Sox Talk. Lots of great posts all over the place.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 08:58 PM) Semien>Sanchez They should be playing together at Charlotte in 2014.
  19. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 22, 2013 -> 04:28 PM) We're paying Dunn $14.5M/year, you wouldn't pay Choo $15M per? I'd do that in a heartbeat, the problem is he probably gets closer to $20M. For a long term deal? No way.
  20. Make that trade. I checked the stats for both those Detroit kids -- go for it Hahn.
  21. I was out of town and missed the documentary. If anyone hears of a re-run, I'd appreciate a quick blurb.
  22. QUOTE (mike65 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 08:59 AM) The Texas deal was supposedly Garza and Russell. It was a 4 for 2 deal. I definitely could see the Cardinals being interested in Peavy. My guess is that it would take Wong to headline the deal and I could see Ryan Jackson (ss) and Mark Rcepzynski (rp) plus someone like Tyler Lyons (sp) also icluded. If the White Sox like Cory Jones (sp) better, I coud see that, also. Since the White Sox like toolsy OFers, maybe Anthony Garcia would be of interest. I am just spitballing here. The Cardinals did scout Peavy last nght, FWIW. By the way, the DBacks GM has said publically that they can't take on any money. He lied.
  23. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 21, 2013 -> 04:46 AM) Worst case scenario us the Sox keep Peavy and that's not such a bad thing. In fact, I'd be just fine with it. Getting rid of Rios and Dunn will help the Sox out more than anything. Having a rotation of Sale, Peavy, Danks, Quintana, and Johnson/Santiago is not bad to build around. Keeping Rios in his contract year might not hurt as much as some people think. He will still have trade value in 7/2014.
  24. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ Jul 20, 2013 -> 06:16 PM) Don't be so sure. I'm still hoping Hahn decides to be a buyer and make a run for the playoffs. I think it can be done, but I'm tired of him wasting time. We need to make some nice additions now!!!! Are you aware that Sox have the third worst winning percentage in MLB?
  25. Please don't trade Reed, unless they absolutely blow away Hahn. Gotta be much better than Brandon Jacobs, for example.
