  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 07:48 AM) Sucking for a decade, pocketing all of the revenue sharing money, then getting a new stadium and spending tons of money isn't something the Sox have the opportunity to do. True, but the Sox are in deep doodoo because of Kenny.
  2. QUOTE (Soxnfins2256 @ Dec 6, 2011 -> 05:43 PM) The funny thing about this is, my father also says I had a batting stance similar to his when I was in high school. Could you hit?
  3. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 7, 2011 -> 10:23 AM) FWIW, Rockies just traded Huston Street for literally nothing. PTBNL and salary relief. I always thought they would get something for Street, even if it's at trading deadline. The odd thing is, the Rockies are making a load of money. Their payroll is under control, and they have a great nucleus of stud players. They can easily afford a slight overpayment to Street. Rockies GM Dan O'Dowd is a joke.
  4. Sox website has Molina as its #2 prospect behind Addison Reed.
  5. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 3, 2011 -> 09:21 PM) If I see one more person complain about signing Dunn with 20/20 hindsight, they should stop posting. Though I think Randy hated it from the start, so he's the exception. I thought I was the first one to hate the acquisition of Dunn. Anyway, I hated it the minute I heard about it, although I did not think he would be this bad. It still rankles me that we gave a a #1 pick in addition to all that money, none of which is Kenny's, who must be the most unfirable person in the country.
  6. I never understood his batting stance.
  7. I still can't believe how Kenny has mis-general managed this team. The Marlins get Reyes and Bell, they already have Hanley Ramirez, and they offer a ten yr deal to Pujols --and all of this would bring their payroll up to $100mm. Meanwhile Kenny has assembled a lousy team that had a payroll of $127mm in 2011, with no significant salary relief possible for at least two yrs, and he keeps his job.
  8. Who is the better prospect, Gac or Andy Wilkins?
  9. Just don't let Mr. Field breed.
  10. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Nov 22, 2011 -> 11:57 AM) Until he has a bounce-back year this season and signs there for the most money. "It's not about the money."
  11. We send him to AFL, and he does great, so we don't protect him? Why then did we send him to AFL? If I didn't know better, it looks as if Kenny Williams is running the show.
  12. Rockies would salivate over Danks, and they have several players who would really help the White Sox. I would love to see a big trade between these two teams, given that they have the worst GM's in MLB. This is the only way Kenny would have a level playing field in trade discussions.
  13. All the blogs on the Rockies list Danks at the the top of their wish list. I wonder which GM will start the ball rolling....Rockies need a solid SP to be ready to win in 2012. Of course, they also need a third baseman, a second baseman, a first baseman under 35.. Still, they have a lot to offer in a trade.
  14. I remember Jack Brickhouse telling the story that, during Minie's rookie year, he slid into third with a triple, and gobs of cash came out of his pockets. He had not gotten a bank account yet and didn't trust the clubhouse.
  15. I still remember as a kid when Minoso broke in with the Sox. A thrill a minute, or so I thought then. I still use forms of his name on passwords.
  16. I first heard a few weeks ago that the Rangers re-play that fight routinely before all home games, even though the event happened many years ago. They're a bunch of low class idiots to do that. I can't believe Commissioner Bud Lite allowed that to happen. Does he want more fights? I hope one of our pitchers does some serious head hunting down there.
  17. Why would Sizemore want to play with the White Sox? So he could team with Rios and Dunn? What a pair to draw to. Way to go Kenny.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Oct 21, 2011 -> 12:11 PM) All of the grammar mistakes hurt my brain. The author is young.
  19. QUOTE (gatnom @ Oct 22, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) Obviously, no sane person saw Dunn having the year that he did, but he's not really wrong here. I am cynical, but not insane.
  20. I don't mean to sound cynical but I wonder how big Kenny's entourage is. Probably a vacation for the whole family on the company tab.
  21. oldsox replied to danman31's topic in FutureSox Board
Sox just cut/reassigned Cofield, among others. He had decent numbers at B'ham. Has anyone here ever seen him pitch or have a report on him?
  22. Rockies are potential trading partner for Danks. They need a starter just like Danks and are under pressure to win. They made a busload of money in 2011 and can afford it. They offered to take on Wandy Rodriguez from Houston at $12 Million salary, but the Astros pulled him off waiver list. Danks is even better than anyone named Wandy. Rockettes have several really good prospects plus a pretty good outfielder in Seth Smith who would be available.
  23. Adam Dunn will eat him.
  24. Does anyone know who we chopped off the 40 Man Roster?
  25. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Oct 4, 2011 -> 09:07 AM) Ian Stewart is a guy that could use a change of scenery. If you are going into rebuilding he is the kind of guy you take a chance on, and if he gets it back, you can trade him for other pieces to help expediate the process of stocking the farm system. The Rockies are looking for a LF, getting Stewart as a throw in as part of a CQ trade would be a victory. Rockies are looking for starting pitching. They would overpay for someone like Danks. We could probably start with Seth Smith, a solid corner outfielder who hits .280 +, decent power, runs well, hustles. He would help the Sox. Otherwise, we trade Danks in July -- no telling what his value would be then.
