Peavy should break Pierre's arm; that's the only way Sox will put him on DL.

For consideration to the HOF, writers will compare him to others at the same position for the same period. One other first baseman who has played in the same years as PK is Todd Helton of the Rockies. Not quite as many homers, more doubles, RBI's and hits, plus a career BA of .324. And a few gold gloves. Yet, Helton, if he quit today, would probably have no chance. If he plays two more years, gets his hit total up to 2600, he might have a chance, like PK if he has 2-3 more power years. Another guy on the edge is Chipper Jones. On the steroid subject brought up earlier, I would be interested in who other posters feel used HGH but did not get caught.

I never understood why MLB did not insist that foreign players also go through the draft.

Pierre should go. Sacrifice 3/4's of his salary. We won't get a draft pick for him. We should call up The Tank and see what happens. Can't be any worse. That will open another spot in minors for someone, as well as the 40 man roster. We have to find out if he is the real deal. Pierre's remainning salary is wasted anyway. Come on Kenny, do something.

Going back to Larry Walker.... He was also a tremendous Right Fielder and great baserunner, plus he says he wants to coach. We could do worse.

Just read an article on Larry Walker in Denver Post -- He is out of baseball and would love a coaching gig. He had one of the best five year runs of all time (1997-2001). reat hitter, great defensive OF, etc.
