  1. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 09:34 PM) I know he's been good for a while now, but I still have a part of me that does a double-take each time Cliff Lee is mentioned as one of the best pitchers in the game. I can't shake the memories of him being terrible. This.
  2. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) Hamilton is supposedly one of the best there is at shutting down Wade. And Rip + Ray would wear down Wade on offense. Plus in Thibs system, you need both SF and SG to funnel perimeter players into Asik/Noah/Gibson/Boozer. Don't tell me Butler/Hamilton couldn't do that.
  3. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 01:10 PM) Seems like an overpay for a guy that'll give you this year and maybe next year. They maybe 1 or 2 second rounders. Brewer and Korver have team options, but they'll be gone after that. Like Allen. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) And trading brewer significantly hurts defense, which is still what the Bulls are about. Butler + Allen = Brewer + Korver on D in my opinion. Plus, the flow of offensive firepower that Rip brings to the Mob and the cold-blooded threes that Allen brings outweigh that.
  4. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:28 PM) ? Noah's going to the Celtics in his scenario. And that's a foolish overpay. Mine was Korver, Brewer, 3 second rounders for Allen.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 11:56 AM) Joe Cowley, duh.
  6. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 19, 2012 -> 12:11 PM) Trade Noah for Allen and a pick or two. 100% IN on that, though the Celtics would never do it. Celtics would do that in a heartbeat. Korver + Brewer + 2-3 second round picks for Allen. This lineup: Rose - Watson Allen - Hamilton Deng - Butler Boozer - Gibson Noah - Asik

    SOPA

Seeing as there was no thread for this yet... I loved the clip of how a number of Congressman said they "weren't enough of a nerd" to understand SOPA and need to "get some nerds in here." Or as Jon Stewart called them "experts."
  9. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 10:36 PM) Cubano, great to see you back on the board! I started reading the post and was like "cool." Then saw that it was Cubano and was like "Holy s***! Cubano's back! "
  10. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 11:49 AM) I love that site, he usually has some real gems on current topics. The Oatmeal book was one of my better purchases.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 01:52 PM) The caps will make it d*** near impossible for any team to have a single "pipeline" over the next few years. But if we get precedence, I'd love that.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 01:50 PM) With the international signing salary cap starting this summer...this isn't the worst idea ever. Despite the caps, I'm 100% serious. I want to open a Cuban pipeline.
  13. Here's hoping Alexei and Dayan can convince Soler or Cespedes, or hopefully both, to come here. Soler would be our #1 prospect and Cespedes would be in the bigs probably midseason.
  14. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 10, 2012 -> 07:55 PM) The sad part is that I own that disc. The cool part is that I had it months before it was on the air because of the college radio station I was working with. I f***ing love that album.
  15. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jan 18, 2012 -> 12:40 AM) This makes you one ghetto ass whiteboy. And man, CJ Watson = best backup point in the league.* *=not counting Rubio, who gets starters minutes.
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 07:54 PM) Boozer is killing tonight! He hasn't touched the rim. All net.
  17. So for those with league pass...can you change announcers? And if not, why am I getting Suns announcers for a game in Chicago?
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 03:16 PM) It cracks me up that he doesn't like talk whatsoever, just stands there shaking his hips the entire time. His stare and the State Farm Guy's stare get me everytime. And the extended one where the Green Bay fan follows Rodgers around.
  19. QUOTE (DrunkBomber @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:21 PM) Raji one is better I like to imagine it's how Matthews really acts.
  20. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:13 PM) First 2 packages won't happen. They are both drastic overpays. That too. I'd flip s*** for either package.
  21. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:12 PM) Hechevarria isn't anything special. Most don't think he will hit. But if we got him and other stuff and he hit well, then we can do Marty's dream of trading Alexei.
  22. QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 17, 2012 -> 02:06 PM) If Floyd is traded, then these are the type of packages I'd like to see from the following teams: Toronto Blue Jays: Trade Floyd for a package of Drew Hutchison, Jake Marisnick, and Adeiny Hechevarria. (Swap Hechevarria for Deck McGuire if possible) Boston Red Sox: Trade Floyd for a package of Bryce Brentz, Will Middlebrooks, and Ryan Lavarnway. (Brentz is the guy I'd really like to acquire from the Red Sox, along with Lavarnway as a close 2nd. Lavarnway can replace Flowers in the depth chart) Baltimore: Not really interested in any players from the Baltimore system. :-\ Pittsburgh Pirates: Trade Floyd, Morel, and a low level prospct for Pedro Alvarez and Kyle McPherson. (I doubt the Pirates would be a good trade partner for the Sox because of how Floyd's contract being a little too pricey for them, but I'd LOVE to see Pedro Alvarez on the Sox. If we got Lavarnway or Hechevarria for Floyd I'd flip s***.
