  1. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 12:51 PM) Stupid Kenny Williams, whoring himself out to the media...
  2. What the f*** is Cafardo on? Buehrle is number 3 in that rotation.
  3. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 08:37 AM) What did Legendary Jerry provide? Im just curious Ozzie Guillen. May be a good or bad thing. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 17, 2011 -> 10:01 AM) The farm system was at its best when Kenny was over there. Hopefully this helps. For being such a prospect trading heavy/barren farm system GM, Kenny was a really, really good minor league director.
  4. QUOTE (Greyone @ Oct 16, 2011 -> 04:06 PM) I am so tired of this same old spiel from you, you should just move on from it. A lot of other people seem to have. Kenny will get his as there are many who want him gone, time and time again a bunch of folks have pointed this out to you. Kenny is not loved on this board, and many want him gone. It is apparent that JR will not get rid of him at this point in time so there is no reason to keep up that same old song and dance about him. It harder to build a team than manage it. People will no doubt come with torches a blazing when the season is over. You do realize that games are still being played right now. The World Series hasn't even begun, Kenny hasn't even made a decision yet with the team other than the Ventura signing. Yeah, Oz gave him a huge head start. What venom, the board didn't make the decision, JR did. We don't have a single say in what goes on with the team. Kenny didn't win jack, do you truly think he is happy sitting at home and not still playing games. Btw, I've been a long long long time lurker, really love the actual baseball talk and White Sox banter that goes on around here (from time to time). Basically just signed up to ignore a few folks. When you lurk you have to read everything that folks say, or just skim a bunch. It really became laughable to read some people. I told myself I'd never join a sports board just because of the amount of silliness that some folks say but I just couldn't take it anymore. So I hope to be a good member here, I probably won't post a bunch on a regular basis, but maybe I'll add my two pennies from time to time. =) Larry. It was a damn good post.

  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 05:25 PM) Ozzie Guillen, 2003: "Obviously you want to make money in your job, but this job is not about money. It’s about winning." "I'm always honest"
  7. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 05:52 PM) This This Seriously, I want to know. Lindsay seemed OK and didn't Septimo have some (albeit not a whole lot) potential?
  8. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 14, 2011 -> 01:36 AM) Funny how he's out of a job yet Cowley still has one. Ugh...
  9. Wait, why are we just dropping Septimo and Lindsay?
  10. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Oct 13, 2011 -> 03:19 PM) Or, more likely, he'll thrive with a higher percentage of money than his direct divisional competition. Say what you will about their cash, but they could never spend close to what the Yankees have... outspending the Cards, Brewers, Pirates, and Astros ain't no thang for the Cubs. If the Trib still owned them, I'd agree. Now, I'm not sure.
  11. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Oct 13, 2011 -> 09:53 AM) I dunno, top 5? He might be top 10 if he's lucky. I believe all of these guys throw with their left hands: Jon Lester, Ricky Romero, Cole Hamels, C.J. Wilson, Derek Holland, Gio Gonzalez, C.C. Sabathia, Cliff Lee, and Clayton Kershaw. Interestingly enough, when Kenny asked for Holland for Thornton, Daniels would have if Danks was involved. A deal with the rangers of Holland + Spects for Danks/Thornton?
  12. He'll fail without big money.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 11, 2011 -> 09:48 PM) Who gives a f*** if he is a good interview? Seriously, that is just a horrible thing to worry about for a manager.
  14. Just throwing this out there, it's a lot easier to listen to a guy when you know he's busting his ass too.
  15. QUOTE (bmags @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) I care a lot. I miss basketball. QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 06:50 PM) Ditto QUOTE (kev211 @ Oct 10, 2011 -> 10:52 PM)
  16. This thread amuses me.
  17. Honestly, Paulie as manager would have been cool.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 9, 2011 -> 01:57 PM) How is running out to the mound to get the s*** beat out of you by badass Nolan Ryan defending "his teammates." Nolan Ryan is going to hit whoever the f*** he wants to hit. He's Nolan Ryan. Defending himself? I guess. This is so very ignorant.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 03:32 PM) I hate you.
  20. QUOTE (bozzie @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 03:24 PM) Ah, those that have eyes, let them see . . . . . . I believe it was bozzie himself, yours truly, who spent all summer peeling back the curtains on the Kenny/Ozzie soap opera, and the pawns Ozzie used that were Dung and Rios; it all sprang from Ozzie's demand that Jim Thome be gone'd and Mark Kotsay be DH . . . and it all manifested itself and properly so in the jettisoning of the foul-mouthed, tamale-toting Guillen. Finally. But what did bozzie get for his advocacy? Banned from this board from the overzealous mods. I forgive you, mods. I know it's not easy to recognize the seer within your midst . . . All we need is victory to complete the trifecta in this thread.
  21. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:57 PM) Curious reply by Coop to the question of was he telling Williams what was being said in the clubhouse. "What was I saying that wasn't in the paper?" Not exactly a denial from Coop. You could see where this might tick people off. Curious article by Cowley since he's talking about another teams manager instead of our recently hired one.
  22. QUOTE (chw42 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:33 PM) I love how Cowley is digging his own grave. I'm going to start selling popcorn to the show.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Oct 7, 2011 -> 12:28 PM) Nobody has a clue. Maybe he'll push people to try to beat Dimaggio's hit streak record. THat'd be fun. "Adam Dunn has just homered in 57 straight games."
