  1. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:15 PM) If you think Papelbon is bad, how can you think Santos is good? Cause Papelbon was super-bad two years ago.
  2. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 04:41 PM) Steve done made a mess of another thread. someone get a mop rumors i have read today Bulls interested in Battier, Butler, TJ Ford Also rumor that Bulls are trying to get Granger for Asik and pieces QUOTE (ZoomSlowik @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) That would be amazingly awesome, but sounds ridiculously unlikely. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 05:07 PM) agreed. One would have to think that would be a predecessor to Deng being moved if it happened Not necessarily. In Thibs' defensive system, SG and SF are interchangeable, so Granger could theoretically play the 2. But, if we were to obtain Granger, I'd see it as this package: Asik, Brewer, Bobcats pick/First and multiple 2nds, and Bogans (to make it in the cap). Now, the rumor is the Pacers want Rondo for Collison and Hibbert, so they might clear it out to make space for Rondo to be the star in a defensive lineup of Rondo-Brewer-George-Hansborough-Asik. The Celtics would flip Collison/Hibbert/Picks for Paul and try to sign Dwight with their remaining cap space. Then the Bulls have this starting five, Rose-Granger-Deng-Boozer-Noah. That's a good starting five, but Granger/Deng is a bit redundant. Now, one team has been interested in Deng in the past...the 76ers. A Deng for Iguodala swap could interest and benefit both teams, leaving us with... PG - Rose/Watson SG - Iguodala/Korver SF - Granger/Butler PF - Boozer/Gibson C - Noah/FA (Thomas?)

  4. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 11:44 AM) Santos is closer to being Jesse Crain than he is to being Jonathon Papelbon. Cost-effective and good instead of overpaid and bad?
  5. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 03:48 PM) That's simple Alex Rios to PittsBurgh for McCutchen and Jameson Taillon Jake Peavy to Rays for Jeremy Hellickson and Desmond Jennings Adam Dunn to royals for Eric Hosmer and Lorenzo Cain Gordon Beckham to the Blue Jays for Brett Lawrie All our problems are solved! I like this new Victory. Also, from Grantland. What They'll Likely Do: Make a hell of a lot of trades. Few GMs have been more aggressive in reshaping their ball clubs over the past few years than Kenny Williams. Rumors out of the South Side have him shopping one of his top starters (John Danks or Gavin Floyd) despite Buehrle's likely departure, while also dangling slugging right fielder and solid lefty setup man Matt Thornton.
  6. QUOTE (dasox24 @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 03:41 PM) Hey Mizzou fans, yall should definitely consider making the trip to Knoxville next Fall. 11/10. Mark it on your calendars. I'm game.
  7. So, Minnie's son asked my dad to write a letter arguing for his entrance into the Hall of Fame. Thank god my dad is good with words.
  8. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:17 PM) The question that I am sure KW is struggling with is do you wait to see what they do in 2012? If they aren't performing I would argue that putting them on waivers in hopes someone makes the same move KW did with Rios might work. Or you start going through the team list offering them up in a trade. You might have to eat half the salary, but it's still only 50% of what you wil be paying to keep them on the team. Won't happen, as KW showed it's a bad gamble. Try again.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 02:14 PM) Someone from the Braves scouting department? Well, sign me up! f*** yes.
  10. Cutler possibly out for year.
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 09:06 AM) Please tell me you won't feed into the perpetual student fantasies of firing every offensive coach. No, pretty much gave the Tigers Offense a C+ for KU game, D an A, gave them a B for the season overall, said they'll most likely go to the Holiday Bowl, MVP to Josey, and that they'll fare better then expected in the SEC next year if Josey returns, Franklin continues to grow, and they defy the odds and snag DGB.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 12:58 PM) I know Mr Milkman only you have common sense. Well, you and a few others that share your feelings. If you want to make things personal then tell me something that has been suggested that isn't "common sense?" Anything you say and I say are opinions and only opinions. You have a knack for making comments that seem like atatcks on others who you disagree with. You would not do well in a debate. If the high priced non performer is dragging the team down then you get rid of them. Try to get something for them, or release them. You don't keep them on the team where they strangle you. I hoe these charactters meaning Rios and Dunn can turn things around in 2012. If not we had better be looking at some plan. Who do you propose will take these high paid nonperformers off our hands? And how? And why?
  13. QUOTE (DukeNukeEm @ Nov 30, 2011 -> 10:33 AM) Intentional or unintentional? Unintentional
  14. I'd still take Roy, just don't play him heavy. We do have Brewer and Korver to relieve him plenty.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 29, 2011 -> 11:03 AM) Sorry got you and kyyle's list name switched. It's all good knight, you're doing this for everyone here's fun. I was just really, really confused.
  16. Um...didn't vote for Max Cady, and he's 15 on my list? Awkward...
  17. Going on Mizzou's student TV station tomorrow as a football analyst. Oh boy.
  18. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 04:26 PM) Oops, i read an article the other day about him hanging around DRose and I thought it said something about him being Rose's backup. Nah. He's working on his ball handling and he can defend the 2, so hopefully he could become a SG in the future.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 04:12 PM) other PG that the Bulls just drafted. You mean Jimmy Butler, the 6-7 Luol Deng clone?
  20. QUOTE (VictoryMC98 @ Nov 28, 2011 -> 11:16 AM) Are you Juan Williams? But seriously hoping Rock's source is right.
  21. I hate the world.
  22. Dear God Heads, I said I was being a smartass. You and Dan both need to calm down super fast. Conference realignment sucks. Mizzou should have handled it better by clearly stating its intentions. Texas shouldn't have put such a stranglehold on the conference. You're getting WVU and TCU, so it will remain a BCS conference (at least I think), so relax. You know who's getting left out in the cold though? Baylor, Kansas, K-State, and Iowa State. Mizzou was with them and jumped ship and I wouldn't blame any of those four for doing the same.
  23. Ok guys, start coughing up the cigars and rum. The latter is mainly you J4L.
