Sox vs Atlanta June 24th 1:05 first pitch

PAULIE! -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 03:05 PM) Why? No shooting guard, and they wouldn't have room for a Ray Allen type after signing LeBron/Bosh, the Wizards don't have a pick to send over like the 8th, and there was the rumor that JJ would sign for 4yr/60M

Tank showing off the arm... -
I'm both incredibly excited and sad. We have room for 2 max FA's...but... This means they are going for JJ/LeBron or JJ/Bosh, which is still good, just not LeBron/Bosh. Also, I much would have rather traded Deng/17 for the 8 with the Clips because that would have set up: Rose/Kirk/LeBron/Bosh/Noah with Henry/Gibson/Johnson/Asik on the becnh However, now it seems we have to look forward to Rose/JJ/LeBron/Deng/Noah with Gibson/Johnson/Asik If they still somehow pulled off a sign and trade for Bosh (Deng + Taj + Something), then I'll like JJ...but otherwise...I don't. Also, Kirk was my 2nd favorite player after Noah.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:41 PM) I don't have a problem w/ it, I just think it's kinda funny how he seems so bored catching fly balls. I love it. He's just like "Oh, a fly ball. One second." -

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 01:17 PM) The harder we rant against Kotsay, the more likely he is to get a hit. I thought this yesterday. Then looked at his stats. He is not hitting .500 -
If LeBron-Johnson is the goal, then Kirk must be traded. LeBron-Bosh is far and away better, especially since you could snag Henry with that 8 pick and Johnson's contract has a good chance to look bad in a few years with his age.

Tank in the lineup! So is Frodo, and that makes me think Gordon is on a plane. -
QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 24, 2010 -> 08:41 AM) To be fair he is typically very solid in the field. Yesterday was just one of those days. I was there last night and he looked...defeated...walking out on to the field, hanging his head each time he went out and not looking up until Alexei/Omar/Paulie wanted to do some catch.

On Mike and Mike, Chris Bosh was on this morning. Greeny asked something and Bosh said it was "interesting" if the Bulls could move Luol Deng because then they'd have 2 max FA room because then they could sign two guys. Greeny asked if it was alluding to playing with LeBron and Bosh said something along the lines of "We'll see." Also, said Rose is Top 3 PG right now. Things look good in Chitown.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) So where should this kid have actually been drafted, and what does his stuff look like? From FutureSox: http://www.chicagonow.com/blogs/future-sox...lity-picks.html I'd say probably 10-15 rounds is where he should have went from that description.

I was at the game today, and Gordon looked absolutely lost. Send him down. -

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 03:58 PM) Let's not get out of hand. I liked De Aza coming into the system and feel he could be valuable, but he doesn't belong on the Sox roster, not at this point. The main motivation I have is that he keeps Lillibridges speed if you move Lilli back down to keep Kotsay on the roster or trade for Adam Dunn, is a back up OF, and lets Dayan keep playing by removing the competition in Kotsay.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 04:03 PM) Buehrle wasn't a 1st round pick. Buehrle wasn't a first 37 rounds pick.
-
Here is what I would support for the team: Main Move/Subsequent Move Trade for Dunn/DFA Kotsay Promote De Aza/DFA Jones (trade if you can magically get anything for him, maybe even a throw in a Dunn deal) Teahen off DL/Send Frodo down to AAA Start Dayan at 3B/Teahen to bench. Suddenly, the bench becomes: S - Omar Vizquel - 2B/SS/3B L - Mark Teahen - 3B/1B/RF/LF/DH L - Alejandro De Aza - OF/Pinch Runner R - Ramon Castro - C L - Adam Dunn - 1B/DH (starter most of time)
-
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 23, 2010 -> 07:25 AM) De Aza in 4 games since returning from the DL: 9-for-16, 2 HR, 2 2B, 3 BB We could kill two birds (Kotsay & Jones) with him. Call him up, suddenly you have a speedy back up OF that is left handed and Dayan is allowed to stay on the team. And yes, I know Kotsay is a valuable bench player, but as long as he is in Chicago he will be a starter. Edit: Also, not kidding. If he makes it to AA I will probably by a #26 Blackwood shirt. If he makes the MLB, I certainly will (I don't buy jerseys, and if I did, it'd only be Paulie or Buehrle right now)

The epic feeling will be gone unless tomorrow lasts at least 7 hours. Isner looks mad as hell. -

Come on Isner! Also, if Don LaFontaine were still alive, he would have to announce this match.
