  1. Anyone know if they'll show clips online?
  2. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 11:39 PM) why do people keep asking "who goes down when Teahen comes back?" it's OBVIOUS it's Viciedo, if only for the simple fact that he can only truly play one position, and Ozzie would rather have Lillibridge's versatility off the bench than Viciedo's lead glove and all or nothing swing at this point keep in mind, Viciedo is only 21 years old, he isn't MLB ready If he can only truly play one position, Teahen can't play any. Let's see: Option A: DFA Andruw Jones, use Lilli as backup OF Option B: DFA Kotsay, use Teahen as DH/1B Option C: Send down Dayan, continue with Andruw/Kotsay Option D: Send down Lilli, Omar is your pinch runner. Quite frankly, Kotsay makes the most sense.
  3. f*** you Carl Pavano and your moustache.
  4. Paulie's been in a rut lately.
  5. Paulie base-blocked.
  6. QUOTE (Ranger @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 06:21 PM) Jones won't be going anywhere either. They believe he's been too important in keeping Rios comfortable this year. That's good news. And welcome back Ranger.
  7. Paulie saw Molina had a triple and wanted in on the fun.
  8. QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 06:07 PM) Not sure if Lilly's going anywhere, but I'd be pretty surprised if Viciedo goes back down. It seems more likely to me that Teahen moves to DH and either Kotsay or Jones goes. My gut tells me Andruw, though I think Kotsay would be best (not a defensive replacement, slow, and Teahen is left handed)
  9. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 01:34 PM) Brad Miller reportedly signs with the Rockets http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5388602 3 years/$15 million. I'm sad.
  10. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 07:33 AM) The Chicago White Sox will never be a World Series favorite... Not as long as the Yankees, Red Sox, Cardinals, Twins, Braves, Mets, or Phillies are in existence. Even the Rays get more respect and publicity than the White Sox. When is the last time you heard of someone not from Chicago pick the Sox to win it all? I didn't even see anyone pick them to repeat in 2006 - even after fortifying the line up with Jim Thome. I remember Jason Stark saying that the Chicago White Sox had NO CHANCE against the Astros with Oswalt, Pettitte and Clemons. Ha. The Sox could have Jesus playing CF and they'd be underdogs still. Edit: In 2006 Tim Kurkjian said going into the break whoever won the AL Central would win the World Series, and he thought it would be the Sox.
  11. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Jul 17, 2010 -> 05:26 AM) I understand the approach argument out of what we need out of a 2 hole hitter, that is fair, I just have a gut feeling he's out of it now (and another 2 hits yesterday) and to me it's silly to keep him batting ninth. Put him at 7 at least to where we can get more AB's out of him with runners on base if you don't have the balls to hit him #2 just yet... I'm actually warming up to Gordon going back to the #2, but not yet. When he's hitting .250, then I move him back. Until then, he almost has to go 9th, depending on who we have in the lineup. Pierre - Omar - Rios - Konerko - Quentin - AJ - Gordon - Kotsay - Alexei (against right handers) Pierre - Alexei - Rios - Konerko - Quentin - Gordon - AJ - Viciedo - Lillibridge (against lefties)
  12. This is getting all the better... Sorry LBJ, but your wanting to get friends jobs could cost you 2 years off your contract because a year is already taken off for violation, and since the penalty is 5 first rounders, suddenly you don't have a S&T and neither does Bosh, so he loses a year too. So, here's an idea: Trade the Charlotte Pick + 3 Second Rounders to Portland for Bayless & Fernandez then with the remaining cap, sign Brad and bring Bouldin or Lucas as a 3rd string emergency PG. PG: Rose-Bayless-Bouldin SG: Brewer-Fernandez SF: Deng-Korver-Johnson PF: Boozer-Taj C: Noah-Miller-Asik I like that team.
  13. See poll. I'd do Haren if I could keep Viciedo to DH along with Teahen when Teahen returns. Having this 1-5 next year is crazy: Danks - Haren - Buehrle - Peavy - Floyd with Sale in the wings.
  14. Because they are awesome. It also seems other teams closers are just magically losing control in these situations...Soria, Rauch, Marmol, Feliz...it's crazy.
  15. That was a horrible, horrible at bat Paulie.
  16. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 10:18 PM) Damn, that was great range by Span. My thoughts exactly.
  17. Rios uses Walk In the Shadows for his AB music at times, so... What? You say you're through with me? I'm not through with you? Awesomely appropriate Queensryche song.
  18. Slam-a-matic?
  19. Worked for Gordon so... I used to run base like Juan Pierre Now I run the bass hi hat and the snare?
  20. Josie's on a vacation far away?
  21. This park is cavernous. Wasn't it supposed to be a launching pad?
  22. So, what do the Bulls do from here? They have 3 holes left Extra Big - Brad Miller Backup Point - Bouldin or Lucas Extra Shooter - Trade for Henry, sign Mason, last resort Byars.
  23. QUOTE (jeffro2525 @ Jul 16, 2010 -> 07:46 PM) Luckily he still can't break .250. Fixed
