  1. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:00 PM) I love how Sam Smiths short list is, like, 60 guys. I just said it was short because it was so obscenely long. I want Mo after watching that video.
  2. What. Now that thats out of the way, I'll just say my top 4 Trayce Thompson Jared Mitchell Jordan Danks John Shelby III
  3. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:59 AM) I'm not sure if it's a good thing or bad thing that Sam friggin Smith agrees with me. BTW wasn't Ron Adams the one that Joakim had a run-in with? If so, then I wouldn't want him even if he is a tough, defensive coach. You two almost cited the exact same reasons too... ...Ace has a secret identity.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 5, 2010 -> 02:26 AM) I like Collins, but I doubt he'll be back after JR didn't want to hire him to potentially ruin a patched friendship down the line. Ultimately I would like a D'Antoni-type coach who runs an up-tempo style (to optimize Rose's potential), but is a good defensive mind too. One guy who intrigues me everyday who is not on Sam's list and I believe will be a wonderful pick up is Maurice Cheeks (in fact.. he's probably #1 on my list now, as he was like #5 a week or so ago) Makes perfect sense for Rose and I think he can develop him pretty damn well. Got this from another site. Credentials: - Coached Portland and Philly to the playoffs - Former All-Star PG - Former NBA Champion - Former 1st Team All Defense Selection - Runs an up-tempo offense, while stressing team defense - Chicago Native - Current Asst. for OKC (look at what he is doing for Westbrook) And of course he's known for helping that young girl with the National Anthem when she got cold feet. Real good guy. Regardless, there will always be people complaining about different coaches cause of their weaknesses. There are no Jackson/Sloan/Pop/Adeleman etc.. type coaches out there. I'm just personally feelin Cheeks who in my opinion, makes the most sense out of anyone the Bulls can interview. Assuming no Collins or JVG, I'll say Cheeks-Thibodeau-Corbin/Shaw-Scott-Mitchell is my personal top five list, though Scott moves up or down on my list everyday cause of his work with Kidd and especially CP3 who just loves the guy. I forgot to put in Sam's #1, since he wasn't part of the actual list.
  5. Heres Sam Smith's short list Again, I want Collins, but I'd be fine with Avery/Cartwright/Van Gundy. Calipari is intriguing, since he's a kind of a jerk, but for some reason, guys enjoy playing for him, so if he could lure LeBron or Bosh, do it.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ May 4, 2010 -> 11:01 AM) Oh god my eyes.
  7. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2010 -> 02:09 AM) As one baseball man puts it, Gordon never was George Brett or Mike Schmidt, so now the Royals are hoping he can become Robin Ventura. Do they mean Robin's bat? Or how he was all around (stellar D, ok bat)?
  8. QUOTE (knightni @ May 4, 2010 -> 02:43 AM) How did the pixie cut fit under the cap? http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/video/play...tent_id=7808393 That throw sucked. Buehrle made him look good. (Reason for my dislike of Bieber: When I have to hear all day about how he's the only guy who treats girls nice, it grates on me)
  9. If this years song is "Baby' I will sacrifice Randy to the baseball gods for forsaking us.
  10. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ May 3, 2010 -> 06:30 PM) Guess you're gonna be displeased then. If we get Byron Scott, I will hit a kitten.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 3, 2010 -> 04:02 PM) I'm not quite sure what exactly a "Justin Beiber" is, but apparently there's one throwing out the first pitch at the Cell tonight. What the f***.
  12. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 3, 2010 -> 05:39 PM) What does it say? Twitter, Fecebook, Myspace, youtube, hulu.com, etc. are blocked in CHINA by the "GREAT FIREWALL." Great Firewall made me laugh...
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 3, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) I'd be all over Austin Wilson. I'm 100% about tools/projection/upside. If I ever hear the words "safe" and/or "polished" in the same sentence as a White Sox draft pick ever again I will commit suicide by gargling broken glass. But Kyle McCulloch finally reached AAA!
  14. QUOTE (DBAHO @ May 3, 2010 -> 09:26 AM) VDN update; Now out of those 6 names, I'd say McHale could actually have the most upside. But I'd doubt they'd target him. Casey's a pretty hot name ATM, seems as if the Clippers job is his if he wants it. If its not Doug Collins, I will be displeased.
  15. QUOTE (Benchwarmerjim @ May 2, 2010 -> 10:27 PM) Mauer's replacement today Wilson Ramos had 4 hits, the fist time a catcher making his debut had 4 hits since like 1900 You could have the entire Twins roster contract the flu and be out of baseball, and they'd still find a way to win.
  16. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 2, 2010 -> 08:59 PM) It made no sense. Why would the Angels want to trade a prospect of any value for Konerko when there were better options on the free-agent market who could be had for less $$$ than Konerko. Because Brandon Wood is looking like he can be a AAAA player at best and the Angels have coveted Konerko since after '05 like Kenny did Jones/Pierre/Vizquel.
  17. Quick thought: If the Bulls signed Dirk and he accepted less (honestly, at his age and career earnings, championships may come first) than what his max would be (isn't it like, $20M?) and the Bulls could sign Ray Allen on the cheap, then Rose would have monster assist numbers.
  18. QUOTE (Marty34 @ May 2, 2010 -> 04:53 PM) Impressive lineup, but I'd probably go Q, Gonzalez, Konerko, Teahen, Jones, 3-7. As you said getting Pierre on the bench is key. It's the easiest solvable problem they have. If you think Quentin, Beckham, and to a lesser degree Ramirez and AJ are going to hit and Peavy and Floyd are front of the rotation pitchers you deal for Gonzalez. Yes, because we'd trade the cheap locked up guy and the Padres would want Peavy's contract back, which they shipped to us for peanuts to get rid of. QUOTE (The Baconator @ May 2, 2010 -> 04:56 PM) I know Paulie seems to be a great guy for the organization (didn't he say he would take a pay cut if it would help the team?), but will he be the type of guy that will take a 'play cut' ie move to DH? I know Dye is adamantly against move to DH; is it likely that Paulie is ready to take on that role? Paulie would do it, because unlike JD, Paulie could still play the field once or twice a week and not suck.
  19. QUOTE (flavum @ May 2, 2010 -> 03:36 PM) Donny Lucy sent down. Ramon Castro will join the team on Monday. But I love Lucy...
  20. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 2, 2010 -> 04:17 PM) Really? He looked this amateurish for this long last year? He struggled for about -0 days or so, 35 at bats, last year before picking it up. When did he slump for a month in his baseball career? Were his mechanics anywhere near this out of whack? Didn't he have a rather long slump right after he got on fire for a while? Actually, wasn't it once he moved to the 2-hole?
  21. QUOTE (iamshack @ May 2, 2010 -> 04:07 PM) I dunno man, Paulie and Andruw are performing well-above what can be expected of them right now...I mean Paulie is basically doing what we would expect from Adrian and our offense is still brutal right now. Once those two come down to earth a bit, adding a guy like Adrian wouldn't be a whole lot different than what we have going now, IMO. Don't get me wrong, I would love to have him, but one guy an offense does not make. We have two 1.1 OPS players right now, and we still can't score. Now, imagine having two Paulies. Now add resurgent Andruw and Rios. Alexei heats up with the weather. Gordon has had these huge slumps before, he'll break out of it. Suddenly, the only 3 question marks become AJ, who should bust out of it, Teahen who won't have to be the lefty RBI bat, and Quentin who is just, blech.
  22. Every flyball that Andruw hits in this stadium I think is gone.
  23. Come on Gordon, you know you gotta swing at that.
