Dumbass Fans
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 07:55 AM) Happens almost every baseball game, and it kills me. There is always some fan in the upper deck, a ways down the line, 20 rows up, who spends the game shouting at the umpire about balls and strikes. Really? From 400' up and over here, you can see the strike zone that well? Are you half owl? Shut your yap. Who-who are you to question that?

Texas Republicans: Missionary or Else
QUOTE (ChiSox_Sonix @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 08:00 AM) People who don't live in NY seem way more sensitive about issues concerning 9/11 than people who live in the city actually are. Because the NYC people have probably heard about it so much and live near, so they are probably desensitized.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (WCSox @ Jul 21, 2010 -> 01:06 AM) Perhaps lost in the stellar play of Alexei and Vizquel this evening was PK doing a great job of picking some tough throws out of the dirt. Range is often overrated at 1B. Paulie might make the best picks of anyone.

Putz for Closer
QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) No, just the inconsistency of the board. Jenks has been ragged on more than anyone who deserves to be on the team in the first place (not Kotsay, Williams, etc) yet in pure closer numbers hasn't been nearly that bad. Yeah he's making to much money and he's not the same as he once was, but the ridiculous amount of hate he has gotten is pretty f***ing pathetic. No, those guys were/are both hated far more. The difference is, Bobby sometimes forgets what pitcher he used to be and doesn't throw the curve or 4-seam.

Your "All-Time" Favorite Guitar Player
QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 06:24 PM) You're a freaking genius!!! He is my favorite, I also like Dan Jacobs from Atreyu ..but I don't suppose any of you know who that is!? LOL Slash I like for sentimental reasons mostly, when I started playing GNR songs I realized he's not that great a guitarist, just does a lot with more with less.

Does Kenny dare to consider making this trade?
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 12:25 PM) I'm not saying Teahen would be an X-factor, but if we traded him to the Tigers and he was productive it could help them win the division. I'm honestly shocked anyone thinks that KW would be willing to make this trade. When is the last time two divisional opponents made a trade with each other in the middle of a playoff chase? If it's where one team is in the race, Cliff Lee to Rangers If it's when both are in the race...I don't know.

Adam Dunn Trade rumor thread
QUOTE (docsox24 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 12:12 PM) I think you are dreaming if you think his ceiling is Cabrera. Miguel at the age of 20 was already hitting cleanup for Florida and when he was Dayan's age was an all star and 5th in the league in RBI. Dayan is not even close. His absolute best couldn't be Cabrera? I didn't say he was going to be, I said I think he could. That being said, It think he is likely to end up being a good average, a lot of homers, but not too many walks type of hitter.

2010 Cubs Thread
QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 12:34 AM) The optimism of Cubs fans will always amaze me. They're 10.5 out of first place and alone in 4th (with two good teams at the top of the division), yet there is a contingent of their blind loyalists who are excited because they beat up on the awful Diamondbacks and the mightily struggling Phillies recently. How can any fans be so positive, let alone fans of a team that has a stretch of futility like they do? I'll never get it. Oh, and Carlos Silva: welcome back to being Carlos Silva. One of my friends on Facebook put "Sox fans can rejoice with the BP Cup when we have the WS Trophy" My response: "Hahahahahahaahhahahahahahahha x 100"

Adam Dunn Trade rumor thread
I agree with caulfield that Dayan's ceiling is Miguel Cabrera. Especially if he learns pitch selection, which is not out of the question for a 21 year old. Considering Dunn is a FA and will command a large contract at age 30 my highest package for Dunn is this: Flowers Morel Torres Short +maybe random throw in.

Does Kenny dare to consider making this trade?
Kenny dared take a flier on Rios, so pretty sure he'd laugh and just do this while mocking the Tigers GM mercilessly.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:32 AM) DV could be hitting like some sort of Cuban Babe Ruth and Ozzie would still be making sure Kotsay got his at bats. Fixed.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:13 AM) Over his last 28 games, Gordo is sporting a .358/.371/.612/.983 line....way to turn it around, Gordo! There's a reason why he could still net a big fish like Lee if Kenny wanted to part with Gordon.

What band would you wish to reunite?
QUOTE (Rooftop Shots @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:05 AM) A tour with Hendrix-Beck-Page-Clapton would be amazing. That'll work! If I'm not mistaken, I believe that the last 3, all came out of the same band (At different time periods) in the late 60's from a band called 'The Yardbirds" You're right. First it was Clapton, but he wanted to be a blues purist so he recommended studio work phenom Jimmy Page who didn't want to give up his gig and recommended Beck and later Page joined up with Beck for a short time, then Beck left, Jimmy continued till the band fell apart. And Led Zeppelin was born. Here's the three of them playing an instrumental stairway.

AND THAT'S A WHITE SOX WINNER!!!
QUOTE (beckham15 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 08:02 AM) i definately think he's breaking through his slump...you know i was thinking....this team is kind of scary...we are 2.5 gms up in 1st and i can't remember a point during this season where the sox have been clicking on all cylinders....we've always had someone a little banged up or key players were in a slump.... if this lineup can get TCQ healthy and he keeps swinging the way he was before the ASB and a resurgent beckham this team is going to be a force the rest of the second half! I got tired of searching for my lost Gordon shirt, so I just bought a new one last night.

Oh god, from the list of Page, Hendrix, Beck, Skolnick, Slash, Iommi, Satriani, Buckethead, Lifeson, and Zappa, its a crapshoot but if I had to think of one... It'd be Alex Skolnick because of his wide diversity; Jazz Fusion: Metal: Trans-Siberian Orchestra Fun: Edit: For bass, it's Geddy Lee all the way.

Adam Dunn Trade rumor thread
QUOTE (beck72 @ Jul 20, 2010 -> 07:43 AM) I could see both Flowers and Dayan go. The Sox will likely re-sign AJ. He's a perfect match for our pitching staff. I just don't see Dayan as a fit going forward, though. The sox don't want to have a below avg. fielder playing a key position, either 3b or 1b. The sox have options at 3b, with Teahen and Morel for 2011. 1b isn't a spot to hide Dayan either. Seeing how many E's PK has saved this year and made all the plays hit at him, a guy has to be able to be solid at 1b. I like Dayan as a DH. Dayan may be a slugger. Yet he's got serious holes in his swing and approach. Teams will learn how to make him chase balls and he will get himself out. Yet with Dunn, the sox can turn those 2 picks into some nice players. The scouting dept. has turned it around, and I have faith that those picks and Dunn's bat for this year, can be better than what Dayan, Flowers, etc could do. I'd probably trust Dayan fielding over Dunn. Plus, Dayan has a mad ceiling for what could be a rental + picks. Flowers, Torres, Short, Morel would probably be my max offer.
