Why are we complaining when the Sox are in first place after executing a rebuild plan and blaming one batter on a hitting coach overseeing the top offense in the AL*? Padres took the lead after their game*
-
The Sox have the highest OBP in the AL and the 7th highest in baseball
-
They have marbles.
-
Bruh we have the top offense

We like Adam Engel this year. I feel like that says a lot.

Damn this feels good.

Nomar seems like a dude who is gonna go on a tear once he gets the first one.

For a first place team. That might be the craziest part.

MLB released their MVP power rankings today and here's their AL contenders, in order: Mike Trout Shane Bieber Nelson Cruz Tim Anderson Jose Abreu Am I the only one who has issues with the top two - specifically because they make no sense when paired at the top. You can only give it to Trout if he's getting it for being the best hitter in the league, for which we already have the Hank Aaron award. In past years, sure, he can miss the postseason and win the award, but now that 8 teams are making it and the Angels don't, it's hard to see him rack up MVPs and not sneak into the playoffs, even if it's not his fault. On the flip side, Bieber is way, way more deserving if we're making it an all-around award, because he's keeping the Indians in the race. But voters seem to be docking pitchers due to the existence of the Cy Young. So if it's an award for batters (the Trout argument), shouldn't it go to one of the three guys putting their team in postseason contention?

Ding ding ding. Let's be real, dude probably feels like he's had to earn his place on the diamond all his life. He might have the best bat-to-ball skills in the majors, but because people are expecting him to be a seasoned 5 year veteran, we're ripping a dude hitting .380. If he hadn't missed a month, he'd probably be #3 in the ROY discussion based solely on his absurd batting average. To him, that might seem unfair so maybe internally he tries to stretch hits into doubles or triples to even it out. I don't know because I'm not a sports psychologist.

You could hypothetically trade him at the deadline. -
Cause I'm all out of bubblegum.

Buy McCann an outfielder's glove. 1B depth: Abreu/Vaughn/Grandal C depth: Grandal/McCann/[Collins/Yermin] RF depth: Engel/Vaughn/McCann DH depth: McCann/Abreu/Vaughn/Grandal I trust Ricky to juggle this.

Well, sucks that your mom got lied to.

I think we can ultimately agree that what we should be angriest about is a global pandemic, because Kopech's newborn child needs him more than this team ever will.
-
No, you see, we must suffer forever and always, even in the middle of the season that will likely result in our first trip to the playoffs since 2008.

With the Sox offering the most money, I'm over Zack Wheeler. They did what they could do short of moving the team to Jersey.

Marshall earned Coop another 5 year extension.
