God I love seeing Bummer, Crochet, Fry, and even Rodón in the BP from the left side. Death by sliders.

He's discounting the guy's two years at Stanford, being drafted, major league experience, tenure as a scout, VP of player development, and as a GM. He's doing it on purpose.

The reason they signed McCann to a 1 year, $2.5M contract in 2019 was because he had be DFA'd the season before. However, he was still arbitration eligible due to service time - so they negotiated the 1 year, $5.4M contract. There was no sneaking in a second year option. If you're going to make Soxtalk a personal blog, don't be a complete moron.

This is where I lean. Before he slimmed down, I might have leaned Cespedes if we removed Colas' 2-way potential. Now, just go with Colas.
-
Having Collins on the bench, allowing McCann and Grandal to both bat, is worth more than Gio, Jace Fry, or the 6+ ERA safety blanket Jimmy Cordero. Especially now that Bummer and Crochet are in the pen.

Ricky is not getting fired and he is winning manager of the year

3) The suggestions you make on this board are often asinine when given the benefit of hindsight. -
By that logic, you might as well include Eloy, Anderson and everyone signed to an extension as they block FAs.
-
Oh yeah, it's not good. Just including Mazara is pointless. Also, @South Side Hit Men's "original value" post is worthless because we're not in a full length season where players get a regular season to adjust, rest, etc.
-
If we're stretching things this far, we should include Robert and Abreu who have far, far stronger arguments as free agents than Mazara.

2021 Offseason Prediction: Who We Lose and What Will Be Our Needs?
Quin replied to SouthSideGeorgia's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they have All-Star seasons under their belt at a notoriously thin position, sure. -
I always wonder what happens if Blatt actually gets called for a tech in the Bulls-Cleveland series. I severely doubt the Jimmy-Rose Bulls take down the Warriors, but it'd be hard to justify breaking up a finals team. The Bulls of the 2010s are just a massive series of what if's: Rose's knees, Draymond or Dieng as draft picks, clearing out Deng's contract, and the Blatt call. The X-factor every time (aside from Blatt) is pretty much always Forman thinking he was smarter than everyone.

Everything but the House of Horrors and Ricky Renteria plays to the Sox advantage. Alliteration is our enemy.

Get a lead to the bullpen. That's all I ask.

To be fair to Nomar, that was a shit call.

Then just post the thread, this isn't a column.

https://www.mlb.com/news/chris-sale-throws-his-fastest-pitch-since-2010-c286283410 Yeah, Crochet hits it easier, but Sale threw hard as a reliever.
