  1. Then why did he pound meth throughout his entire career and introduce it to all of baseball?
  2. Nah, they get in or they don't. If you put an asterisk next to them, put an asterisk next to Ted Williams that says "introduced meth to baseball" and label every every single person who ever used greenies as such.
  3. That would make more sense. Thanks / I apologize if that's the case.
  4. Man, you really can't be sitting here arguing that Snell is bonafide, #1 star and then talk about not being able to win with Bauer's game or whatever this headassery is.
  5. I have a Cubs fan friend who loved gloating about the Sox signing TLR and trading Dunning for Lynn. He's also an ardent believer in Charles the Cat. Trying to not return the favor today.
  6. 9. Take a job in a Nebraska meat factory. They'll never shut down.
  7. Well, there's no excuse for not being able to beat that package.
  8. Snell had had one amazing year two seasons ago. He's been an all-star once. The next year he pitched half a season with ok numbers.
  9. This was an Abreu article in 2012, before Abreu was even on the market. Abreu hype was real.
  10. The NCAA is furious that they can't fine the Sox. Correct. It's why the board was so ecstatic that the Sox actually went for the last big prospect (and Cards fans were so dejected). That feels big, even thought it actually means nothing. This is what Jimmy has been alluding to.
  11. Off the top of my head: 2006: Strengthened a World Series win. Offense became damn near unstoppable. Rotation falls apart. 2015: This fucking offseason. Samardzija. Melky. Robertson. Bonifacio. LaRoche. Has there been a more devastating butterfly effect season in team history? After these additions failed (and Shark left) they added Frazier and filler (Rollins, Latos, and of course, Shields mid-season) to try and supplement the core of Sale, Quintana, Eaton, and Abreu. I remember rumblings that Hahn wanted to begin the rebuild after 2015, but apparently it took an extra year of catastrophe to convince the powers that be that no, this was not going to work.
  12. While it's not an exact 1-to-1 comparison, it's like asking this: During the Warriors dynasty, would you rather be the Rockets or the Cavaliers?
  13. Yeah, this is where I'm at. Padres if I can pick the division. However, Sox have the better situation to be in.
  14. Man, Campusano getting caught with cannabis in the wrong state is really gonna cost the Padres a pretty penny.
  15. Just looked up their salaries and I guess I figured more of their vets were on contracts (i.e. not pre-arb/arbitration).
  16. I mean, he better be taking a big discount at the rate they're spending:
  17. Well - at least they'll be at age appropriate levels this year?
  18. Man, losing the minor league season really blew up how we could assess the Sox farm. Obviously the Top 4 are great. After that it feels like the entire system could boom or bust from there.
  19. It's probably more... Kopech, Dunning (trading for Snell instead of Lynn), Kelley, and Bailey.
  20. Fyi, Colas reposted Luis' post.
  21. Patiño is the only one of those three in MLB's Top 100 at #23, so that's your Kopech. It depends how you'd value Mejia. Is he a bust or a change of scenery guy?
