  1. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 03:25 PM) That isn't really a FutureSox thing, but could be something for SoxNet, or even it's own blog. Could be interesting. Noted, as SoxNet is going to undergo a massive shift this offseason in a push for new writers and voices.
  2. https://www.facebook.com/FOX10Phoenix/video...16543911727488/ Stolen semi-truck has been on the run for 3 hours.
  3. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 02:58 PM) They actually didn't, the 2005 Cardinals were 1 game better at 100-62. This.
  4. Fun Fact: The two teams that have achieved 116 wins both lost in the playoffs, the other being the 1906 Cubs that loss to the Sox.
  5. QUOTE (SpankyEaton @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 12:44 PM) Here's to hoping you're right. Would love them to end up like the 2001 Mariners. Yeah, forgot about the 2001 Mariners, who might've been better.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 01:29 PM) I just get mad when people can't see what I see: In Saladino I see a regular, everyday player. He's more than some once a week utility guy. 1) Super-utility implies he's essentially playing as frequently as the starters, but rotating. This keeps everyone fresh and get's Saladino at-bats while also keeping him as a defensive sub or pinch runner when he sits. 2) You just immediately throw people that follow the draft and advanced metrics as being anti-Saladino. That's hogwash. "Draftniks" would probably be FutureSox people, who would likely be the most bullish on Saladino and have followed him for years. Advanced metrics last year showed us that Saladino has value, especially with the glove.

  8. 2013 Red Sox, 2009 Yankees, 2007 Red Sox are the only three teams in the past decade to win the World Series after having the best record in baseball. If you wanna crown the Cubs, then crown their asses. But that's why we have the playoffs.
  9. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 11:25 AM) There shouldn't be though. It's about most valuable in general. Not most valuable on a good team. Rick Porcello isn't having as good of a season as Chris Sale or Corey Kluber. Hell, if Jose Quintana were on Boston he'd likely be the overwhelming Cy Young favorite because he'd be hovering around 20 wins as well. If Porcello wins this award, we really should stop giving it out. Hell, Q with an offense this year is probably hovering around 25 wins.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 09:57 AM) Saladino has been a great find this year. His numbers were much better in part time duty, but he has even held up pretty well after Lawrie's injury put him in starting line up. The best thing we take away from this season is that the White Sox farm system has drafted and fully developed two starting position players. And Narvaez isn't looking bad either.
  11. QUOTE (JenksIsMyHero @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 09:16 AM) Except no one is talking about WHY he's doing it, they're only talking about what he's doing. There's a good chunk of people talking about why he's doing it. It's not exactly a secret.
  12. What the f***? Um...giant glass pane they all run into?
  13. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 09:45 AM) This is your worst post in a while. Give it 10 minutes.
  14. Agreed with Caulfield, with the caveat that Saladino did try to play OF in AAA and got injured. But if Saladino could gain the ability to play a corner OF and possibly even first, he could become an extremely valuable super-utility with his defense, base running, speed and bat. Lawrie starting at second with Saladino getting consistent starts everywhere is much more appealing than Saladino starting at second with Sanchez/Leury being the bench player.
  15. http://screengrabber.deadspin.com/kevin-ha...dium=socialflow Kevin Harlan with an all-time call right there.
  16. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 13, 2016 -> 12:31 AM) Get rid of Lawrie. Case closed. I guess everybody devalues Saladino cause of where he was chosen in the draft. Sorry, stat nerds (I say that lovingly) and draftniks ... the eye test is all that matters on Saladino. Sox are too dumb to play him, however. Sox scouts and front office and coaching staff is a fricking joke. Uh, no one said that. As for Saladino, keep him as a super sub for right now. But definitely needs to be playing near daily.
  17. Obviously this isn't an indictment of all police, but seems like yeah, here we are again.
  18. QUOTE (raBBit @ Sep 12, 2016 -> 08:09 PM) HRC's VP Kaine: "Hillary's energy on the campaign staggers me." Looks like it staggers her as well. C'mon Kaine. Don't tee up like that.
  19. Man, if Q didn't have that bad start a few days ago he might have been the frontrunner.
  20. Pneumonia. Talk about bad timing. That said, I've collapsed from worst (granted, I'm epileptic). Still, bad look and she's gonna have to address it.

    Then why did you ignore the veteran in this thread?

    The Anthem

    QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 11, 2016 -> 01:16 PM) Well, I don't know what to say. I haven't used this much in my arguments, but Colin's behavior is hard to take seriously when he had those socks calling police pigs. Almost all NFL coaches have that "one for all" attitude and I don't see how Colin saying "look at me" can help any team cause. I hate the cliches but I imagine his coach is pissed beyond belief with one guy going off on his own like that. Do it in the offseason if you have to do it at all. Besides, he did offend the military. A lot of military have died protecting freedom. Those military members treat the anthem with utmost respect. You don't really care about the military.
