Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) No way New York parts with that much for Quintana and Robertson Torres is not going anywhere after destroying the Arizona Fall League People were saying the same about Moncada and Kopech. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 10:13 AM) I would not be shocked if Rodon gets moved. There have been little hints about it in the past, even yesterday when RH was talking about Sale he said he has "others" that fit the description of front line pitchers that teams can plug into playoff rotations. I know that Rodon seems like the kind of asset you hang on to, but given his agent and his performance in the second half, I could see the Sox moving him to try to build a core at the lower levels. Kopech is likely two years away as is Hansen, Burdi would be too if they decide to make him a starter. If they get the right deal for him, I think Rodon could get moved soon as well. Er, moving Rodon makes 0 sense.

Catcher
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:42 AM) I say Wellington Castillo, or just bring back Avila. Let Narvaez get good playing time. I do think the Sox will probably acquire a ML ready catcher in one of these deals though. Tom Murphy from the Rox or Pedro Severino from the Nats are two to keep an eye on. I just wish Avila could stay healthy. He'd be a great tutor Narvaez and then hopefully you get him in a coaching role eventually.

Frazier Trade Discussion
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 02:24 PM) Frazier and Robertson for Puig, Calhoun and Lux? Done. Love Lux and Calhoun. Puig could have rebound value.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:29 AM) Wasn't sure about a fourth piece given the names I threw out there but I'll happily take that fourth piece. Are you talking about Andy Diaz? Victor, from the Sale deal.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:23 AM) How about Frazier, Rutherford and Tate? Done, but I love Rutherford. I still think there'd be a fourth piece a la Diaz.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 09:09 AM) Yesterday morning, I would have said that I think that that offer is too light but now I don't know what to expect lol Add in Tate and Torrens.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:10 AM) The Cubs also hit on a ridiculous number of draft picks. Nobody could have predicted they would all produce like they have. Couple that with a couple of miracle trades and you can win a title. I obviously used best case example, but the Astros botched a number of picks are in a much better place than before.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (miracleon35th @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:19 AM) I am disappointed that Hahn did not hold out to get Benintendi wih Moncada. Oh well.. The plan to do a tear down may not be that simple to execute with teams holding on to their best prospects.. Other than Quintana and possibly Frazier , the Sox don't have players that could be traded for elite prospects. So where will that leave us? Perpetually mired in mediocrity? Eaton, Jones.

Chris Sale Appreciation Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:19 AM) So he's not perfect, shoot him. Again, what did he do that was so bad?? Why would you back the front office, our inept front office on the uniform issue? As far as your final line of the post ... I stand by my statement. I don't want Chris Sale throwing one baseball in a uniform he is totally uncomfortable in. I guess some fans wanted him to go out there like a good soldier and get shelled or walk six guys in a row and get taken out. It's OK to criticize management once in a while, Quinarvy. Our front office has a horrific record right now. I mean how can you defend an organization that thought it a good idea to have Ventura manage the team? We'll never even know if this team could have made the playoffs with a competent manager. The Sox have had some talent in the Ventura era. Probably not enough talent, but arguably enough talent to have made the playoffs a year or two. Yeah, Robin was awful and KW oversteps his bounds. One role where they failed as management was allowing Sale to be a petulant child and do whatever he wants. However, this thread is no place for that. Dude was great for the Sox, hopefully he'll get a ring with his new team. And hopefully Moncada and Kopech turn into Cano and Syndergaard

Chris Sale Appreciation Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 12:58 AM) This Chris Sale being a cancer talk is really wearing me out. The cutting up of the uniforms was no big deal, folks. It just wasn't. Who gives a f*** that he cut up uniforms, ugly embarrassing uniforms he DID NOT FEEL COMFORTABLE pitching in. People get on pitchers for needing Tommy John surgery. I don't want Sale out there pitching when he's uncomfortable. He warned the White Sox he wasn't gonna pitch in the uniform and the front office didn't care. So he tore up the unis. Good for him. What else did he do that was bad?? Not wanting to come out of games and yelling at Ventura a few times? There are a handful of pitchers in baseball who won't come out: Verlander, cough cough; others. Who gives a f*** if he yelled at Robin? Again Chris was right. Robin was the second worse manager in Sox history behind Bevington. he was an utter embarrassment. So why hate on Chris Sale??? These transgressions have been overblown. Because he's a grown man? And LMAO at you trying to say pitching in throwbacks would give him Tommy John surgery.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 12:54 AM) Some of us aren't looking forward to 4-5 years of being the worst team in baseball once the trades are made. The weird part is Moncada will be part of a horrible 1-4 seasons on the big league level. He'll be called up after eight weeks or so and be up for good. And we'll be in rebuild mode. That will be weird having him be part of the everyday lineup during 3-4 years of suckitude. Hope he doesn't mind losing while getting big league experience. Greg, it took three years of tearing it down for the Cubs to win it all. That's no guarantee for the Sox, but you do understand that rebuilding means get bad really fast, then rebound, right? The first year of tanking got them Kris Bryant, the next got them Schwarber.

Your response to Sale getting traded to the Red Sox
QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 12:23 AM) And that is no fault of his. It's the fault of our front office and scouting departments and people who thought hiring Robin Ventura as manager was a good idea. Your post is kind of insulting to Sale. He's a World Series caliber player and it's not his fault our organization has been an utter joke since Ozzie's last year and a half. They were a joke at the end of Ozzie's tenure.

Your response to Sale getting traded to the Red Sox
QUOTE (Deadpool @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 09:55 PM) It's so refreshing to be Mr. Positive here, now. Look, Moncada is going to give you some great moments. He's the best prospect in baseball. Can he flop? Sure. But there's a good chance he's going to be a very good piece for years to come. Damnit, stop breaking the fourth wall.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
So, apparently no #1 prospect has ever been traded before. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/159272618/da...ts-ever-traded/ Bill Barnwell @billbarnwell 12h12 hours ago Just worried Chris Sale is going to see the Red Sox St. Patrick’s Day jersey and walk out, never to return

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 11:35 PM) So looks like the Nats package was going to consist of Giolito, Robles and Lopez. I'll take the Red Sox package every time.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:29 PM) I keep thinking about the Mariners. They have had their Hall of Fame starting pitcher for over 11 years. Zero playoff appearances. They keep trying to put together rosters around him and keep failing. Plus, we should have plenty of money to play with when Chris becomes a FA in three years.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) I think s*** will get done. Sale was the domino. Now they'll move Q and others. Q is very popular right now and I'd be stunned if he's still on the roster come Friday I'm honestly gonna be sadder to see Q go. God speed, Flying Serpent.

Deep Dive on Moncada, Kopech
"comfortably between 96-100" Everything I read about Kopech tells me he's gonna be a great fit for Coop-Herm

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
What's making me comfortable with this deal is that a lot of the pundits love this deal for both sides.

White Sox looking to deal Robertson
QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 03:05 PM) Robertson @DRob30 value is rising with closer prices. Any of the Chapman/Jansen runnersup makes sense. Yanks like him. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/806242638743699458 Yanks are exactly the team I want involved.
