  1. Saladino is so smooth defensively.
  2. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 18, 2015 -> 03:10 PM) Looking more and more like Crain will never pitch again. I have a feeling he's going to become a pitching coach in the org.
  3. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:37 PM) You could be right, but I see Saladino being sent down. Conor was a golden boy entering this season. He was supposed to be OUTSTANDING for us this season. Can't see them pulling the plug. Wait, what? 3B was targeted as one of the glaring holes. And I had more confidence in Conor than most.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 11:30 PM) For once a guy is off to a good start stat wise in his debut with the Sox! Of course Abreu last year killed it from the start, but usually guys suck out of the gate with the Sox. But he'll probably be sent down because you can't send down Beckham and they won't want to admit failure on Boni and eat the cash. Who else could get sent down? Maybe DL somebody. You got to admit, Flowers and Danks are not as bad as many think. As far as the thread topic ... four runs in 2 games?? Sure you'll take a split. Of course the Royals only got four runs in two games as well. They'll take the split. The writing is very clearly on the wall for Conor.
  5. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:50 PM) I wasn't able to watch the game, can a brother get some Saladino highlights from the day? 2-4 with two singles at third in game one. 1-2 with a sacrifice at SS in game two. Got caught stealing on a perfect throw by Perez, but had a good jump. Played good D at both positions. Nearly beat out a throw at first.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:14 PM) Darn guys, you made me look up some Danks outings. July 3 vs. Balt: 7 innings, NO runs. June 17 vs. Pitt: 7 innings, 5 measly hits, three runs. a bit farther back May 31 vs. Houston: nine innings, 0 runs. May 16 vs. Oak: 7 innings, 3 hits, 2 runs. May 10 vs Cincy: 7 inns, 6 hits one run. Now coupled with tonight, 3 of his last 5 outings were DANDY. Seriously, he's no Phil Humber; he's no Carroll. He's not batting practice, folks. He's still coming off that injury. Just cause he makes a TON of money don't hate on this player. Then if you go back two more starts, it's only three of his last seven. Then four in his last 10.
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 10:04 PM) How come nobody ever cites the lines in his good starts? Because when combined with the rest of his starts, it still looks really bad. But tonight, he battled. I still think he'd be best served as the long man in the pen, but tonight he turned in a good one.
  8. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 09:48 PM) Isn't Montas like a double A pitcher? Eh, so was Q. It's not all that out of the ordinary. Also, thank you Rios!
  9. It was a good throw by Perez. Saladino got a decent jump, he just probably listened to the coaching staff.
  10. Conor not being in either lineup is kind of a telling sign.
  11. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:55 PM) No you can't. Rondon is much better defensively than Carlos Sanchez and he does it at SS And much, much worse offensively. It's sad. Would have loved to see his glove in the bigs.
  12. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 17, 2015 -> 02:54 PM) Chris Sale to the Cubs for Schwarber, Javier Baez, CJ Edwards, Corey Black, and Gleyber Torres. Sox hang up so fast on that deal. No Bryant, Russell or Soler? No Sale. Anyway, I see Samardzjia to Toronto for Jeff Hoffman and Max Pentecost
  13. Yeah, I do Shark+ for Puig due to his character issues, not Q+
  14. Since they're playing the Royals, I can't get MLB.tv working, so I can't see what's going on. How's Saladino looked?
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 10:45 PM) I can't believe some of you want one of those plastic homers to work Sox games - one of those guys who enunciates every word in a clear, concise, fake Wink Martendale voice. Chicago is special cause it has had Harry, Hawk, guys willing to tell it like it is. Some people just want our franchise to be dull as dirt. Many of you got your wish when the colorful Ozzie was replaced with dry, boring Robin. Now many want some boring announcers. Please keep Hawk forever. And Stone as well. Doesn't want homers. Wants Hawk. Pick one.
  16. QUOTE (thxfrthmmrs @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 08:31 PM) Love the fact that Micah's SB success rate is increasing at a higher level. He's not running like a loose cannon like he used to, and hopefully better techniques and getting a better read on opposing pitchers also play part in it. Carlos Johnson would be the ROY. Shame we can't combine them.
  17. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 07:27 PM) I don't think he is being showcased either. But you can look at it another way. A team in contention may be reluctant to give up a top prospect( 1-3 in their system) for a 2 month rental. But trading a top prospect for a 2 month rental plus a young pitcher a couple years away may be more palatable. If I'm sending out Shark and Montas I want a Top 10 prospect. No point in trading a comp + Montas for just any org's 1-3
  18. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 16, 2015 -> 03:06 PM) My wife, who finds baseball to me the single most boring sport in the world, doesn't mind listening to Farmer and DJ because once an inning they make us crack up. So all of your opinions are invalid. Farmer and DJ are so weird together that it works. Hawk and Stone, opposite problem.
  19. I've learned to not doubt Chris Sale. He's got a shot.
