Glad to see at least some people are now coming out and appreciating Q's worth.

Dodgers aggressively pursuing Alexei
Yeah, I'm only interested in Kemp if the Dodgers take Danks and throw in a small chunk of change.

White Sox sign Adam LaRoche
Really like this signing. Now just for the LF bat.

Add me the group that wouldn't do Q alone for Bruce, let alone Q+.

Tyler Flowers Trade Tree
http://grantland.com/features/mlb-transaction-trees/ Really cool piece on long trade trees for each MLB team. Flowers is our oldest. Starting with Lee being traded for Vizcaino who then went with Chris Young and Orlando Hernandez to Arizona for Javy Vazquez who gave us flowers. Some in here (the D-backs) are really intriguing.

Rodon's Role In 2015
He should not be a reliever. Doing that with Sale nearly cost us one of the most dominant starters in the league.

Dodgers aggressively pursuing Alexei
If an Alexei + Danks + prospect such as Trayce for Ethier/Kemp/Crawford + Pederson happened, this would be the money. White Sox send out: $48.5M over next two years. Dodgers send out (Ethier): $53.5M over three years. Dodgers send out (Crawford): $62.2M Dodgers send out (Kemp): $107M over five years. With Ethier the Dodgers save $5M. With Crawford the Dodgers save $13.7M. With Kemp the Dodgers save $58.5M. The above is why the Dodgers would have to send back Pederson if they wanted Alexei / wanted to unload an OF.

Dodgers aggressively pursuing Alexei
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 18, 2014 -> 03:57 PM) First off, no chance of Pederson coming back for Alexei, that's just beyond unreasonable. The Dodgers are trying to make room for Pederson, not trade him. I'm hoping the Sox are focused on some kind of package around Schebler. That would involve unloading two of their high priced OFs, which ain't happening.

The best pairings would be Pau and Taj and Nikola and Noah, but sadly I doubt we'll see those.

Alexei + Danks + Trayce for Joc and one of Ethier/Kemp seems fair to me.

White Sox sign Zach Duke, 3 years, $15 million
I'm a fan of this signing.

Russell Martin signs with Toronto, 5 years, $82.5 mill
I'm with the consensus. Glad we stayed away. And lol at the Cubs.

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 15, 2014 -> 11:30 AM) correct me if i am wrong, but isn't there not trading of draft picks, only comp picks. Correct. Comp picks can be traded, the rest can't.

Stanton deal could reach 13 years/ $325 to $350 million
Holy s***.

I think they should just get Derrick to wear the old Kobe Crazy 8s. Those have great ankle support.

Dodgers OFs
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Nov 14, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) On a sidenote, I really don't get people complaining about the Dodgers OF'ers wanting to play and being unhappy about sitting. They didn't sign 100M deals to sit on benches and not play everyday. They were put in this position by Dodgers management who brought in too many guys for an area (part of that was due to need because of various injuries, etc) but the reality is those guys are starters in the league and are paid to do so. It is perfectly fair for them to want to do it. Ethier played the good guy role back in 2012 and then asked to be traded last off-season. Dodgers didnt' do so and he was very very unhappy and it is no surprise his performance dropped. I agree with this 100% The Dodgers would have to take Danks and kick in cash, or just kick in a lot of cash, for me to take Ethier. That being said, I'd still do it.

Mets/LAD/NYy interested in Alexei, according to Levine
QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Nov 13, 2014 -> 02:03 AM) I would take just Syndergaard straight up for Alexei. He was the #11 ranked prospect in all of baseball according to BP last season. That's a ranking better than Rodon will likely get coming in to 2015, and I don't know how many of you would trade 6 years of Rodon for 2 years of Alexei, and then talk about adding ANOTHER prospect on top of Rodon, and I'm not sure a single poster here would take that. Now the Mets do have more young pitchers than the Sox, so they could afford to lose Syndergaard and still have nice young arms, but I think to expect Syndergaard PLUS another guy is highly unlikely. I'd take him straight up to. Just wondering out loud.

Mets/LAD/NYy interested in Alexei, according to Levine
If the Sox could get Syndergaard and another prospect for Alexei, that'd be something I'd pull the trigger on. Add Syndergaard to the group of Rodon, Montas, Danish, Adams and Beck and the Sox would have some nice young arms they could hopefully flip for young bats after some development, such as Santiago for Eaton.

White Sox focused on RH SP, LH bat, bullpen
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 10:07 AM) Ken Rosenthal @Ken_Rosenthal 3h3 hours ago #WhiteSox have pursued catchers such as #Astros’ Castro, #Padres’ Grandal in past, but more focused now on RH starter, bullpen help, LH bat. I feel like Grandal may be the person that Hahn was referring to when he talked about trying to acquire someone he had his eye on for a while at the deadline.

Mets/LAD/NYy interested in Alexei, according to Levine
QUOTE (StRoostifer @ Nov 7, 2014 -> 11:56 PM) Im not so sure a 33 year old Alexei with two years of control is worth a 24 year old Wheeler with 5 years of control. Alexei is passing his prime while Wheeler has his ahead of him still. I think Alexei is a bit over valued as fans sometimes do. Remember how plenty of people were disappointed with the return on players like Rios, Santiago, Peavy etc? Wait until you guys see the return for Alexei if he is traded. Santiago netted us Eaton...
