QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 04:56 PM) That's the last you will hear about Jose Abreu in Chicago this season. The Cubs hype train has left the station and there's no stopping it now Oh joy.

FutureSox Top 25 Prospects List - Midseason
Quin replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Aug 7, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) General thoughts right now. Too high: Spencer Adams- Top 5 is a stretch for me for a high schooler in front of guys putting up some gaudy minor league stats. Francellis Montas- We only have ten starts to go by when it comes to being impressed. Matt Davidson- With so many guys having great seasons I wouldn't have been surprised to see him at ten or lower Micker Adolfo- Maybe not too high, maybe not too low but right now he's a crap shoot prospect who hasn't done anything in limited time. Cleulius Rondon- He will never make the majors with his current bat. He makes way too many errors as well for supposedly being a plus glove. I know MiL errors don't matter much but when it's you're one tool you better be Rey Ordonez. Too low: Tyler Danish- the second best pitching prospect in my mind with how he's dominated every level at his age aside from a 10 inning adjustment. Carlos Sanchez- Seems like a very high floor player. Hope we see him again soon. Trey Michalczewski- . I think he's a top 10 prospect now Kevin Smith- A catcher destroying the ball and can be up by next year? Sign me up. Nice to see Jace Fry in there as well. Really think he's going to be a good one for us. Rondon might make more errors because he gets to more balls. -
My guess is Hahn is still trying to see if any team will take Beckham, ADA, Viciedo, or Dunn on waivers.

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 07:55 PM) Why is he still here? Couldn't trade him, he'll be non-tendered in the offseason.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 6, 2014 -> 04:37 PM) Better late than never for DC. At least they could finally admit to themselves Marvel has it right and map out a plan After Guardians, I'm sure DC realized it was time to back off of the Cap 3 release date.

QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Aug 5, 2014 -> 11:48 PM) Guess who just hit a go-ahead hr in the 12th for his first major league hit. It's in Coors Field so it doesn't count.

Adam Dunn pitching made this game worth it.

Montas is at the same level and I hear far fewer doubts about him? I'm excited for both.

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) Why? Feel sorry for the lack of originality, instead...these movies, while basically decent, really offer nothing new and are as cookie cutter as they come. I'd rather start seeing something more original than standard comic fare at this point, and anything Marvel is exactly that. I mean, people are just rave about basically every movie based in this universe lately...and watch this: I thought the avengers AND iron man 3 were completely average, predictable, overly busy on effects and just like any other marvel movie, and at this point I get it, and in bored. I know, I'm a sinner, because these movies are all the same to me, I should be stoned for thinking for myself. Guardians of the Galaxy may be the least cookie cutter film in a long time as far as action movies go. Right now you're basically just saying it's cookie cutter without seeing it. It can stand alone from the rest of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in it's own self contained world. Hell, it's more akin to Star Wars meets a Kevin Smith movie than like Avengers, Iron Man, or Winter Soldier.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 4, 2014 -> 04:43 PM) If you are factoring in contracts, you go with Sale. If you factor in best player, its Sale. However, if you are concerned about his long term ability to stay healthy, you might lean Abreu. Ace pitchers help you win a series though. ^^^

That is fantastic.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 11:59 PM) Doesn't look like Nate will be part of that, unfortunately. Like you, I was hoping for the Moon, butt Jones' glute issues aren't yet behind him, and are proving to be stubborn pains in the ass. It's put the closer situation for next year in arrears. That was so fantastically awful it was amazing.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 08:58 PM) "Abreu's good but he doesn't hit for average." He's hitting .299 "He has to walk more" Why should he walk more with a 299/31/83 power line "He sucks at fielding" 7th in baseball for 1st base fld% A+

Rondon and Beck with the promotion improvements.

QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 08:34 PM) What if someone told you before spring training that by the trade deadline Conor Gillaspie would be hitting .328 in the majors and Matt Davidson .199 in AAA I'd tell them Erik Johnson would out perform Hector Noesi on the Sox.

Q has to be ecstatic right now.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 12:43 PM) One of the more frustrating results of some of our front office's mishaps was the giving away of Kyle Korver. http://grantland.com/features/kyle-korver-nba-atlanta-hawks/ Step 1: Give away one of the greatest three point shooters of all time for nothing. Step 2: Spend next few years wondering why 3 point shooting is so god awful.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 27, 2014 -> 09:36 PM) Matthew DeFranks @MDeFranks 1h A friend of Hector Santiago in Cooperstown got Goose Gossage to address an autograph to Hector. The message? "You had a nice career." Oops. Damn Goose, that's cold.
