  1. As much as I hope it still comes to fruition for the Bulls, I do expect him to resign with the Knicks.
  2. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 01:10 AM) If I were Robin, I would move Garcia to 1B full time and move Abreu to DH, that would allow me to get more athletic in the field and could fill some holes for the team going forward. (And if anyone thinks that the Sox are going to contend for a playoff spot/make the playoffs this year is insane, and I think Rick Hahn knows that. The 'rebuilding' effort wasn't to going to be a one year thing. It is more beneficial to the Sox if they deal guys like Dunn, Danks, Ramirez and Viciedo so that they can bring up and see what they have in guys like Matt Davidson and Micah Johnson, etc. And most importantly they get a higher draft and more money to spend on the intl markett, which is more beneficial to the long term health of the franchise than making the playoffs.) ' What is everyone's obsession with moving Abreu to DH? He's hitting fine at 1B and you don't know if DHing would affect that and he is also fine defensively out there.
  3. Recap: http://www.chicagonow.com/future-sox/2014/07/7814/
  4. Yeah, we had Road to Rodon last year, so no tanking this year. They have to be like 10 games out by the end of August for me to entertain the idea.
  5. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 02:05 PM) Butterfly effect. I think if they draft a guy like Drummond over Waiters they might not be in the lottery this year. True. But seriously, they suck at drafting. And it's not in retrospect either. I remember people questioning all those picks (ESPECIALLY Bennett).
  6. Honestly the longer it draws out, the better for the Bulls in my opinion. If it was all about money it'd be done. Also, lol at the Cavs. They could have drafted Len, Noel, Oladipo or McLemore last year over Bennett. Or Andre Drummond the year before over Waiters. And Valančiūnas before then over Tristan Thompson We could have been looking at Kyrie - Wiggins - LeBron - and then any of the two above bigs.
  7. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 8, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) Kevin Milligan (whoever that is): Richards is the easy choice. 10 wins, an ERA under 3.00, and over 110 Ks. Come on people! Except Sale is better, thus easy choice.
  8. QUOTE (lostfan @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 09:55 PM) Mario Kart 8. So fun. So my son with this game (he is 7). First of all he is just ruthless. I used to let him win sometimes when he was 3 or 4 but now he talks so much hot s*** during the game that when I have the chance to, I destroy him. He shows me no mercy so I respond in kind. This past weekend he asks me: Him: So dad do you like winning? Me: Sure. Him: Do you like losing? Me: No. Him: Not even a little bit? Me: Not really. Him: Well you better get used to losing, because you're about to get OWNED! Then the next day we're playing one of the N64 retro tracks. He says "did you like this track when you played it in olden times?" That is quality trash talk.
  9. This is essentially the definition of put your money where your mouth is.
  10. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 7, 2014 -> 07:01 PM) Me after reading this - My death is on you. Seriously. It's a good trade for the Cubs.
  11. If Shark is really criticizing the Cubs (like I believe Kyyle said?) toss in Garza's comments and Theo saying EJax's contract was a massive mistake (which it was) while he's still on the roster and it'll be really hard for them to attract big name pitchers at good prices if the Ricketts are as poor as they claim.
  12. If LeBron goes to Cleveland, Bosh to the Rockets and Melo to the Bulls, I would laugh so hard at Wade.
  13. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 11:27 PM) I wouldn't tie Mark's making it as a negative. Both should have made it. Buehrle defines 'all star' and deserves it. Obviously Sale deserves it too. He better win that contest to get on the team. If the AL wants to win, he should be on the team. Green text = sarcasm, my friend. Buehrle deserved it this year, no doubt.
  14. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 11:38 PM) Farrell has already said Uehara will be the fjrst replacement pitcher, so Sale wasn't even the last one cut...lol. Well f*** Farrell.
  15. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 08:50 PM) They all deserve it, honestly. Too bad. Sale just deserves it more.
  16. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 08:39 PM) Is there a max voting limit online? Feel like I have voted well over 30 times so far Don't think so. I had to have hit 50. Some guy posted this snap chat on Twitter.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 08:07 PM) FWIW tweeting #TargetSale or texting A5 to 89269 is much easier than the whitesox.com voting method Tweets won't count until Thursday. From 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. (EDT) on Thursday, July 10, any tweet that includes a designated player hashtag will be tabulated as part of the overall vote total used to determine the American League and National League winners. The Final Vote will end at 4 pm ET on Thursday, July 10.
  18. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 08:04 PM) #TargetSale is now the top trend on twitter. Win I'm saving it for Thursday.
  19. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 07:50 PM) Eaton is helping out Eaton is f***ing awesome.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 03:20 PM) It's really this. The Cubs fans on Facebook are going to be pissed. The Cubs fans who watched the news the other day and saw the Cubs swept the BoSox at Fenway are going to be pissed but the Cubs SoxTalk equivalent, I think it's bleedcubbieblue, is probably ecstatic and they should be. I think Billy Beane has to be worried about Addison Russell's long term health to even make this deal. I don't understand the inclusion of Hammel either. If I am Oakland I don't see the need to replace Strailey/Milone with Hammel. I don't disagree. My point being the Cubs fans on facebook make up a significant portion of the ticket purchasing fanbase.
  21. Weird situation with Samardzija. Named All-Star, can't compete for NL and ineligible to be placed on AL roster. He can still participate in all the All-Star Weekend activities though.
  22. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jul 6, 2014 -> 06:28 PM) http://www.fangraphs.com/not/ten-things-yo...out-jose-abreu/
