  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) I'll take a vote. Do you all really want me to go thru that long, well thought out post point by point and re-but? I will if you want that. I dont think people want me to do that. I love hawk, but he is going to make the current guy look good, which is fine. I like Ventura as well. Ugh. This argument confounds me. My god. they bring in a closer for a gadzillion dollars; you have to pitch the guy in the closer's rule. It's the closer trashing their season, not ozzie. Now I guess it's to the point he's going to have to do something; Oz has indicated that, but he STILL doesn't want to replace Bell. My guess is Bell will start the second half as the closer, as he should. See what happens. Or closer by committee, but you got to go with the high paid acquisition; why can't u guys see that?? It's called a TEAM; gm acquires players; you play them. Now the closer can be kept out of a game or two, but until the GM disposes of him, he's the high paid guy who plays. This is sports; this is life. Your argument confounds me. The Giants sure as hell didn't rely on Zito.
  2. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) My Mother is a huge Sox fan and I want to take her to Elvis night, Aug 3rd vs. the Angels. I see where I can snag some Club Level (Sec 318) seats for about $75 per ticket. My question is, have any of you sat in the Club Level recently, and if so what are the pros/cons?? They have their own vendors? They have an AC bar or restaurant? Their own bathrooms? How's the view? Any input is much appreciated!! When I was there the food was good and the view is the best in the park.
  3. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) This At the risk of sounding too much like Balta, we already discussed this a bit in the Catch-All Anything thread. We determined I'd strike out looking.
  4. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 09:47 AM) Pringles version are better imo. I'm not a fan of Pringles flavored chips. I love the original Pringles, but the powder on the flavored ones are just...blech. Also, add Jimmy Johns BBQ chips to my list.
  5. Noah looks like a steal contract after this offseason. Also, I'd take Ellington and a second for Korver. I'd rather have Korver, but I really like Ellington out of college. Maybe going from the environment of the TWolves to the Bulls could help him. Also, I miss being able to like Jesus Shuttlesworth. Ray was one of my favorite non-Bulls.
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 02:52 AM) I think there are rules against attacking people. Domino Drunky is kind of mean. Your attack takes away from your well thought out arguments. Translation: You have defeated me, but I'm going to ignore it.
  7. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:47 AM) Wasn't there a former Bear player who died recently having a seizure while driving? No idea. I'm just saying, you can get f***ed up even if you're not in a vehicle.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 11:59 PM) Am I the only one to find the ESPN The Mag Body Issue...weird and creepy? Gronkowski with a pinata on his nuts? I'm not sure what I'm supposed to be getting from this. Respect the glory of Tyson's ass gracing the front page. Can't they be in underwear? What's wrong with underwear?
  9. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:02 AM) They're aren't usually in too much danger unless they operate a vehicle. False. I was in a pool of my blood because it sliced my chin open. Edit: For example, when I came to, my hand was red, my contacts had popped out from impact, and the ER thought my spine might be broken. I wasn't driving. I was outside.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 11:22 PM) Oh, OK. I get it now. KU fans shouted s*** at a Quidditch match? Geez. Yeah, it was ridiculous. I love their team though. One was a guest on my podcast. Another brought me water after we thought I had a concussion at the Midwest Cup.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:26 AM) Can't sneak anything by you. FUN FACT OF THE DAY: At the All-Star break, Dunn, Konerko, Pierzynski, Rios, and Viciedo have combined to hit more home runs than the entire Miami Marlins team. Oh, and just to further prove that Ozzie is a brilliant manager and not some idiot who is the constant force behind all of his teams underachieving, HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THAT THE MARLINS RECORD IS 41-44 BUT THEIR PYTHAGOREAN W-L IS 37-48? OZZIE THATS WHO The most hilarious piece of all of this is that the Marlins are in the first year of their new stadium, and they are 12th out of the 16 NL teams in attendance. and just so I can sneak one in...Ozzie is a terrible manager who should quit at the end of this year because of how ridiculously poorly he has managed that club. If you gave that team to about 29 different active managers and 10-15 retired managers, they'd be over .500. Hell, they may as well name Joey Cora the manager because it seems like he's doing all the work anyways. VIVA LA OZZIE!
  12. So the Tigers and Rangers blew it. Only 2one Sox to get in did their job.
  13. Man, f*** Ron Wahington. Dunn only position player to not hit.
  14. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:16 PM) The Tigers are really choking this game away to screw over the White Sox in the WS
  15. QUOTE (Heads22 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:14 PM) NEVER FORGET
  16. Paulie's at the plate. Let's talk about Mike Trout.
  17. These Angels, Rangers, and Tigers are great.
  18. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:11 PM) They were captivated by Harpers shoes in the on deck circle. The only thing he is missing is the lights on impact like the toddlers have. Better name for Harper: Twinkletoes or Tinkerbell?
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 08:43 PM) Don't get your post. You obviously know they aren't playing anymore. Their Quidditch team. When said "we play next year" I mean me and my team actually playing them. I know, a sport based off Harry Potter, but with tackling and everything it still takes some athleticism.
  20. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:08 PM) That was pretty cool how they barely even acknowledged that Sale was on the mound. Talked about Chipper and RA Dickey the whole half inning. Production crew even gave close-ups of Sale to spark conversation, and nothing. Solid work, FOX, promote the players we all already know, and keep quiet about the budding superstars that are unknown to most of the fans. Also, you can tell by McCutcheon's swing that he hit a foul ball. Fascinating analysis.
