The season I'm an atheist is because when I was 14 I had three family members all die sudden, unexpected and painful deaths. Then went to a Yom Kippur service where I was supposed to ask for an omnipotent God's forgiveness...for not really sinning all that much...while the world suffers, presumably because a woman ate an apple which is the basis for all the suffering in the world. I can't be bothered to praise that type of deity and the other couple thousand don't matter to me. When I see visual proof there's a God, we'll be good. Till then, Yahweh has to compete with the other thousands of gods to prove who is right and actually exists. And I also don't need a book to tell me how to be a good person, especially one written 2000 years ago.

That is one nice thing about the KW teams, there's been ONE terrible year, 2 below .500 years, and the rest have been good years. So of course there's fewer priests when there are fewer people to preach too. As for missionaries...it's like my very religious Baptist friend said. God said only he can judge, yet missionaries judge by deeming their religion is better and they must spread it. Yes, the work they do outside spreading religion is very admirable, but it's not their main cause of going. I love one of my missionaries friends very dearly yet she tried to convert me saying God would cure my seizures. She's a Born Again who partied a bit too hard before being "reborn" so she thinks that would fix me. Yet all converting would do for me is ask that I give up my free will, opinions, and change my (in my opinion) very solid morals. I don't have any character issues that need religion to fix exactly.
