  1. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 09:57 PM) Bitter about what? He's bitter about Missouri leaving the Big 12 and putting KU, K-State, Iowa State at risk for a few weeks of being left out of the BCS. Why would the teams agree to play once a year out of conference in basketball? If KU wins in Lawrence, which it would, MU gets no chance for a rematch. If MU wins in Columbia, KU gets no chance at a rematch. Out of conference it's NOT THE SAME. Game at Sprint Center? Stupid. Missouri wants to play KU. Then MU shoulda stayed in the league. They'd have played plenty. The teams need to never play again (cept in NCAAs which CBS will make sure happens plenty). There's no reason to play one basketball game per season. Football? MU would win 4 of every five games. So why would KU want to do that?? Even MU fans don't care about mopping up on a bad Kansas team. They proved that with lousy attendance at Arrowhead last year. Coulda packed the place if they wanted to mock KU. They didn't. So, what you just told me is Self didn't want to continue it and think that a game at the Sprint Center wouldn't be great. Then why do U of I and Mizzou do fine in St. Louis?
  2. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 01:40 PM) Let's face it, we love our team but our ballpark is easily the worst in baseball. The new Cell is OK at best. When was the last time you were there? 1999?
  3. QUOTE (Joxer_Daly @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 06:26 PM) I was promised* by an Admin that I would "get to celebrate a world series win during [my] 1st year of fandom". So that modest expectation is what I've put my life savings on. It's free money. *not actually 'promised' but 'hopefully'. We've found this years Rally Crede.
  4. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 08:46 PM) This thread reminds me of the movie goodburger. How sad is that?
  5. QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 04:11 PM) fortunately the chicken comes with steroids already included! as for flavor injecting? seems like way too much work when you can just... put the sauce on top... ...or marinade. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 06:12 PM) In a sense yes, but using this method, the sauce cooks in to the meat, whereas saucing the top of it, the sauce sits on top of the meat. It really makes the meat very juicy. I saw a video online of a guy doing this with cherry Dr. Pepper, and that looked interesting. For some reason, the cherry Dr. Pepper doesn't sound appealing. Probably better than it sounds...but ew.
  6. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 07:53 PM) No one ever asks the guy who works on meteorites... Well, help then. I need a long black trench coat, long white wig, and an obscenely long sword.
  7. QUOTE (High Mileage @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 08:10 PM) No. Bill Self is 16-4 against Mizzou. Why would he want to stop playing them? Yes. http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball...ept-realignment And it's because he said there's nothing to gain, seeing as it has no effect on Big 12 standings. But then why bother playing Duke, UCLA, Kentucky, and Ohio State? He's just bitter.
  8. QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:28 PM) Literally. The entire campus. I've worked on summoning that meteor. It takes a lot of work. Plus, I asked the Gods for a whole Sodom and Gomorrah thing, they said it's too much now with Twitter.
  9. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 01:00 PM) The Clippers, ladies and gentlemen Karma for Donald Sterling.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 11:33 AM) On The Franchise last night, the Marlins Team President asked Ozzie about three times "are you sure you're not keeping Heath Bell as closer only due to him making 9 million a year?". Ozzie responded that wasn't the reason why he wanted him to be closer, as he felt the team was better with Bell as the closer and the 9 million dollar salary was the fault of the front office, and not him. Seriously. I'm still dying of laughter from this.

  12. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 09:19 AM) I don't understand having Chris Beck waaay ahead of Heidenreich. Same age, one a second rounder, the other a fourth, Beck getting pretty much lit up at Great Falls, Heidenreich solid now at High A (combined 101 innings/3.38 ERA/.244 BAA/pitching against older players). Seems like Beck is annoited hhis status. Heidenreich has been in the system a few years. Beck was just drafted.
  13. First, because I said so.
  14. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 12, 2012 -> 03:12 AM) What if he did something like Paterno, won a national championship, but protected or excused Sandusky? Would you take down his statue? What would Ozzie have to do that you would consider indefensible or not part of his acceptable "entertaining Ozzie persona"? Um, Caulfield, I'm gonna stand up for Greg here. Idolizing Ozzie is one thing. Protecting him like the Penn State Paternites is different.
  15. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 09:26 PM)
  16. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 08:18 PM) i dont really know what one has to do with the other Dunn let Butler hit so KC could see him.
  17. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 05:50 PM) Why can't we see that? Because we're not buffoons. It's because this is the Greg school of arguing: 1) Feign ignorance and ask a question that he knows the answer to. 2) Wait for a large argument to be placed. 3) Cherry pick one point, repeat same argument. 4) Deny stuff. That being said Greg, these forums would be less interesting without you.
  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 02:09 PM) I'll take a vote. Do you all really want me to go thru that long, well thought out post point by point and re-but? I will if you want that. I dont think people want me to do that. I love hawk, but he is going to make the current guy look good, which is fine. I like Ventura as well. Ugh. This argument confounds me. My god. they bring in a closer for a gadzillion dollars; you have to pitch the guy in the closer's rule. It's the closer trashing their season, not ozzie. Now I guess it's to the point he's going to have to do something; Oz has indicated that, but he STILL doesn't want to replace Bell. My guess is Bell will start the second half as the closer, as he should. See what happens. Or closer by committee, but you got to go with the high paid acquisition; why can't u guys see that?? It's called a TEAM; gm acquires players; you play them. Now the closer can be kept out of a game or two, but until the GM disposes of him, he's the high paid guy who plays. This is sports; this is life. Your argument confounds me. The Giants sure as hell didn't rely on Zito.
  19. QUOTE (southsidepride15 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 01:59 PM) My Mother is a huge Sox fan and I want to take her to Elvis night, Aug 3rd vs. the Angels. I see where I can snag some Club Level (Sec 318) seats for about $75 per ticket. My question is, have any of you sat in the Club Level recently, and if so what are the pros/cons?? They have their own vendors? They have an AC bar or restaurant? Their own bathrooms? How's the view? Any input is much appreciated!! When I was there the food was good and the view is the best in the park.
  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:46 PM) This At the risk of sounding too much like Balta, we already discussed this a bit in the Catch-All Anything thread. We determined I'd strike out looking.
  21. QUOTE (bigruss22 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 09:47 AM) Pringles version are better imo. I'm not a fan of Pringles flavored chips. I love the original Pringles, but the powder on the flavored ones are just...blech. Also, add Jimmy Johns BBQ chips to my list.
  22. Noah looks like a steal contract after this offseason. Also, I'd take Ellington and a second for Korver. I'd rather have Korver, but I really like Ellington out of college. Maybe going from the environment of the TWolves to the Bulls could help him. Also, I miss being able to like Jesus Shuttlesworth. Ray was one of my favorite non-Bulls.
