  1. Are you talking 2011 or anytime in the future? I doubt they ever do anything close to '05 or '06 with this group of players
  2. I agree with everything except about the part where Alexei Ramirez should be a top SS. I'm probably the only one, but I feel he is an average to above average short stop. I roll my eyes every time I hear a comment indicating that he is so great.... IMO he is serviceable. If I was a GM, I'd pay him $5-$7M annually at the very most for him. Of course our GM is going to be paying him $10M in '14 and '15
  3. the sox organization is frustrating me. almost wish i could give up being a fan
  4. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Jul 31, 2011 -> 02:49 PM) Only rumor so far is Rios for a ham sandwich and a bag of chips to be named later. DONE!!!!
  5. Just got home from a family picnic. What happened to Paulie? Any rumors on trades>??????
  6. @Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal #Braves' deal for #Astros' Bourn is done. Announcement at 10 a.m. ET. #tradedeadline #MLB
  7. Braves are out of the picture for TCQ @Ken_Rosenthal Ken Rosenthal #Braves' deal for #Astros' Bourn is done. Announcement at 10 a.m. ET. #tradedeadline #MLB
  8. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 30, 2011 -> 12:38 PM) They will play good thru Sunday then on Monday against NY back to the SOS and trade deadline is OVA! They'll probably compete against the Yanks. it's when they face MINN that it will be SOS
  9. I know this is old hat... but it bothers me whenever I think about it.... the trade last year was one of the worse trades KW has made. All these "top" prospects are barely comparable to Dan Hudson in my opinion. There isn't one person in the world that could convince me that trading Dan Hudson for Edwin Jackson was a smart move. EVEN IF THE CORRESPONDING RUMORED DUNN DEAL WOULD HAVE HAPPENED. Hudson for Dunn is moronic. Hudson was under control at a low cost for many more years, and he looked like a LEGIT #3 starter in the AL at age 22! I have not been able to get past that bad trade. As much as I am following all the White Sox rumors, KW ruined my faith in his decision making and where this team is heading. I'm sure he'll either trade Thornton for garbage that will not work out, or he'll stand pat and the Sox will miss the playoffs by 3 or 4 games.
  10. OT: Metrodome roof collapse = Nelson style HaHa!
  11. MB is going no where unless he is traded to St Louis. My proposal is the following: MB for Colby Rasmus. TCQ for Matt Garza Sign two relievers. Offseason over.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:55 PM) Frank Thomas hit 448 home runs with the White Sox. Paul Konerko has hit 358 home runs with the White Sox. If PK14 averages 30.333 HR/year with the White Sox over the duration of this deal, he will become the White Sox's all time home run leader. He is also likely to move into the #3 spot on the all time White Sox hit list during the duration of this deal, and has an outside shot at 2nd or first on the all time list of 2b hits for the Sox. I find this very interesting!!!! I think PK has a shot at attaining that home run record if he isn't hurt and we do win consistently the next three years. I'm a little saddened because Thomas is my favorite White Sox player of all time... but PK is probably in my top 10
  13. QUOTE (Cali @ Dec 8, 2010 -> 12:49 PM) Anyone else think the Sox are done for the Winter Meetings now? I think they either sign one bullpen arm, or that is it. I don't think we are going the trade route for talent this year. I would love to see an Upton acquisition, but no way that happens.
  14. I'm not excited at all about signing PK to 3/40+, or DLee for 10M. Can't the Sox get in on the Prince Fielder talk? I'll settle for PK or DLee if it is a good deal. 2/24 for PK, or DLee for about 6-7M 1 yr. Do any of us expect trades this week for the Sox?
  15. Is Dunn for sure penciled in as the DH? Is there any chance he can play LF or RF still? IF he could play one of the corner OF spots, then we should trade CQ for prospects, then trade Floyd, Viciedo, and two other prospects to Brewers for Fielder, and resign PK. A 3-4-5 punch of Dunn, Konerko, and Fielder would be insane. But that is only if Dunn could play RF. I know that Brewers said they are most likely not trading Fielder... Who is better defensively in the OF. Dunn or CQ?
  16. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:17 PM) Hopefully this is better info than his Lebron info.
  17. QUOTE (Real @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:16 PM) Nightengale said per the Sox FO, that no deals would be done. Whatever 670 is reporting is probably 2nd hand/untrue/misinformation par for the course with 670 the score. Anything to help their ratings against the mothership
  18. Yea, just heard what Goff said on 670 the score. He was the same guy that said DWade and Chris Bosh deal is imminent.
  19. QUOTE (scenario @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:13 PM) You can always get a deal done if you're willing to dramatically overpay. But that's no way to run a ballclub. Trading Viciedo to get a rental bat would have been stupid. So we didn't do it. Get over it people. I totally agree with everything you said. My whole problem is that we traded Hudson and Holmberg for Jackson while not addressing hitting. Why couldn't we have used Hudson, Holmberg, and one more prospect for something better.
  20. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) Alex Rios says hello. The Sox wanted the Jays to pick up part of his salary and they just let the Sox assume all of it via the claim. I'm sure KW & Co. were not smiling ear to ear with that news. Sox are extremely fortunate that Rios is having a career year.
  21. QUOTE (AWhiteSoxinNJ @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:07 PM) August 30th is the deadline. Why can't people f***ing understand this? It is more difficult to make a trade you want via the waiver deadline period than simply making the trade before the deadline on the 31st.
  22. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 03:06 PM) I never want to hear "Don't worry, good ol' Kenny will get us what we need at the deadline" ever again. I concur.
  23. if hudson and holmberg for jackson was the only move this trade deadline... that is a total failure in my opinion.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 02:46 PM) We are minutes away from the : "I believe in the talent. We were only going to do something that made sense. There were some interesting offers out there, but ultimately we felt they did not make the White Sox better" speech. ugh, so true
  25. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 11:49 AM) yeah i dont want DH's with .317/.409/.516 either...id rather we kept kotsay you are supposed to use a green font for those types of posts.
