Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 10:20 AM) I think everyone here will agree with you that we're going to need more young positional players. That said, we're not trying to win next year so I don't think we're desperate for anything yet, just keep collecting the best talent out there. Good point. I do wish the Yankees were more interested and willing to send us Frazier, Judge, and another.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
In my opinion, we desperately need young power hitting. Thoughts?

I don't get why Pitt would want to trade Glasnow. He seems like on the verge and could be 1 or 2 starter talent.

White Sox win the offseason - again!
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Dec 8, 2016 -> 04:45 PM) Not to beat the dead horse, but you do realize a manager doesn't add 10-12 wins to a baseball team? Yes he was that insignificant. I disagree with this perspective. Choaching has an affect on what type of adjustments a player make make to thei approach. Coaching has an affect on chemistry and style. These are the sides of the game that affect how individuals may perform. It is difficult to quantify because in the end it is all the performance of the player.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
I want both Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman and I would be willing to give up more in the deal to ensure that. Q + Frazier for those two plus a couple low prospects.

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:34 AM) You're not getting Bregman for Quintana. They wouldn't trade him for Sale, they won't trade him for Q. I get that Jose has basically been as good as Chris the past couple years, is cheaper, and has an extra year of control, but the reality is he's not Chris Sale. He does not have the same stuff and therefore does not have the same ability to carry a team in the postseason. If you have a must win game, would you rather have on the mind? It's Sale and it's not even close. Proper valuations of Sale & Q must look beyond just their projected WAR & potential surplus value. Q's additional control and cheaper salary may cut the gap considerably, but there's no doubt in my mind that Sale is the more desirable player to other GMs. With Q being young, should we just hold onto him then?

Quintana Rumors: Round and round and round we go
QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 08:26 AM) Agree I'm not making a deal with the Astros unless Bregman is involved. This is my stance too, unless someone convinces me otherwise. Any knowledgeable posters here that can change my mind with details on their other prospects

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (South Sider @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:26 PM) Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 1m1 minute ago The Sale trade is likely only the beginning. #WhiteSox Yes please. Young talent. Let's build this team up from the ground. I like Todd Frazier a lot, but he should be traded to a contender for 1 young stud.

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (fathom @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:25 PM) Given the lack of aggressiveness by Sox to get a catcher this offseason, I bet Swihart is involved Zack Collins?

Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Dec 6, 2016 -> 01:18 PM) Other 2 prospects not named better be pretty damn good... Agreed. Wish we could have thrown in another player on our side for Benintendi inclusion.
-
Red Sox acquire Chris Sale, White Sox get Moncada+
Please 2 of Moncada/Benintendi/Devers. Everything else just be filler. Was there a rumor a while back that Red Sox had interest in Frazier? If we add Frazier or another piece that had interest in then can we for sure get Moncada and Benintendi?

Legitimate chance of Sale trade to #Nationals per Rosenthal
Not too thrilled... we need star everyday players, so I'm not on board with pitching prospects for Sale

Trade Deadline: Sox Make No Moves
See you whenever this team changes philosophy. I'm out. Tired of this lunacy.

Sox are going to blow this, aren't they?
QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:57 PM) David Robertson, Miguel Gonzalez, James Shields, Justin Morneau, Melky Cabrera are all still here.......why? Hmmm.... Let me put on my KW & Co., hat. "So people will still come out and watch our mediocre team that maybe wins 79-80 games" HAHAHAH.

White Sox Listening on Sale
QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:54 PM) sigh They have like 10 guys who should be dealt and moved 1 of them. This.

White Sox Listening on Sale
I'm with some others here... I'm going to be FURIOUS. It's not that I want Sale GONE... I just want pieces gone for prospects. We blow and there is little talent for the future. Why are we keeping players around? I'm not going to the game with the current team. Make some changes. Get young. Maybe exciting too! I'll come out. But the same old BS is just infuriating.

White Sox Listening on Sale
Why in the world would we trade a hall of fame talent pitcher for mass quantities of garbage or borderline everyday players. This is my biggest beef with most all these prospects. I want talent proven. Or a player that has a ceiling of .300, 40, 120 (the simple stats). This is why I wish we went to the Cubs and asked for Schwarber, Baez, Soler, and a pitcher. As long as Schwarber can come back from injury his ceiling is what I just stated

White Sox Listening on Sale
Am I the only one not impressed with the Red Sox prospects? I watched a few vids and looked over all the stats of their "top" prospects and I am not sure on star talent here. I'd rather get three players like Schwarber, Baez, and Soler for Sale than these BoSox "can't miss" prospects

Evan Longoria
Very interesting to see how this plays out. Seems like something could be going on.... on the Tampa side, but I just don't know how it is feasible for the Sox to be involved in this.

Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
Cubs have the payroll to do it..... They also probably want to get it done for Cubs Convention... OR at least please the fans after the Clark the Cub debacle. OT: Clark the Cub was just poorly introduced in my opinion. I think a mascot is fine for the Cubs, but they should have introduced him in person at Cubs Convention.
-
Rosenthal: Tanaka to Yankees
Well... He fits this team... I just doubt it happening. 5% chance? At least we are smart enough to get involved.

And that's a youth-led winner!
Why is Floyd listed in the title?
