  1. All major professional sports have draft from April to June. You can't have it after the baseball season because players have to commit academically if they are to stay in school for another season (That's also why the draft and short season ball starts after the end of school year). You can't have it before the MLB season either because that would push the college season into the winter months.
  2. These two posts greatly sums my issue and frustration with this front office. Doncic was my #1 option, but I also rather have the 4 high ceiling high bust wing players drafted after Carter, or even trade out of this draft to build future assets. But the FO is ok with just drafting safe players in hope of developing the next Jimmy Butler or Taj Gibson. We don't have much to show for in terms of future asset and the current core of this team is pretty low in ceiling as well. Honestly this reminds me of when Sox were not willing to take high risk/high reward players in draft, not willing to spend internationally or invest in analytics department. Maybe the Bulls will eventually follow suit once they see success from the Sixers or Suns rebuild.
  3. I also think had we not able to move up, we should have attempted to move down. Zhaire Smith at 15 would have been a high risk and high reward pick we should make in a rebuild. We could have move back from 7 to 10 to draft Bridges and pick up Phillies' late first or early 2nd. Then trade Bridges to acquire Smith and a completely unprotected 2021 1st. Those are the risks you should be taking as a rebuild team. And Jake is right, I think WCJ and Hutch can contribute right away, and we will be close to top 10 than top 5 next year.
  4. You basically have to get Orlando's blessing in this trade, that they're willing to take WCJ, Dunn, and 22nd, while not drafting Young and give a Top 5 protected pick next year. I would have at least like to hear the Bulls made a serious attempt to trade up. Part of the frustration from the fan base all these years is they're not capable of even attempting this type of trade.
  5. 7, Portis, and protected 2019 for the #3. But you're right that Orlando seemed like they were PG first and Bamba 2nd. If they were the issue I would have done a 3 way trade where I have Dunn and 22nd going to Orlando, future 1st (top 5 protected) going from Orlando to Hawks, and #3 and #34 going from ATL to Bulls. Dunn is a nice player, but I personally would have given him up for a chance at a star. Again, the risk is Doncic bombs and you're really bad next year and are in Top 5 or even 3 range. But those are chance you take in a rebuild.
  6. The bolded is correct. Their path to championship could have been a top 3 pick, but given both WCJ and Hutchison are high floor players, along with resigning of Lavine, they will not be bad enough to get there.. I think realistically they path to contention was be AD in 2020. I think the better long term move would have been to trade a top 10 protected 2019 pick along with maybe Portis for #3. If Doncic bombs, you're bad enough for maybe a top 5 next season. If Doncic is a star as a playmaker, you would have a much better chance to bring AD home in 2020. While I think WCJ over MPJ is the correct move, I also think not taking a risk at Doncic is the incorrect move.
  7. Robinson, Bates-Diop, and Trent Jr are the only guys I will take a flier at at this point. Don't mind if they do.
  8. Sorry I don't think the Bulls will be bad enough to be in top 5. We will resign Lavine because GarPax is risk averted and devoid of any creativity. We will be in the 7 to 11 range is my guess.
  9. Given how I have ranted about how predictable the Bulls are, I will given one more prediction tonight. we will buy a 2nd round pick this year after the PR nightmare from last year, because we do have the capital this year.
  10. We will let the cap space go to waste just as we let our multiple TPEs go to waste. This is not a risk taking organization.
  11. We will be back to where we were 2 years ago in 2 years, in NBA hell and a 1st or 2nd round exit team. Seriously I felt dumb for giving this FO a chance. Not too long ago they were so risk averted and uncreative they couldn't get a 2nd playmaker next to Rose. Same with Butler, we signed a couple of has been's because they were available to us. The same thing we're seeing with this rebuild. We just cannot get creative or take risks to get us a star player we desperately need. Same old shit here.
  12. Ok witH WCJ over MPJ. As I said I think MPJ is overrated as a prospect even when healthy. However I wouldn’t mind taking on Faried’s to contract to move up if that was the price.
  13. It’s crazy how we know more what’s going to happen with the NBA draft than the MLB draft. My exictement for the draft has been greatly reduced in the last 24 hours.
  14. Also, he isn't a very good ball handler or playmaker at all. The KD comparison is way off for MPJ. I hope a team before us takes him.
  15. It's not the teams, 4 of those 5 teams are in rebuild. Only reason Atl or Dal is willing to trade down is there aren't much difference between talent between 3 to 6 or 3 to 7 range, so they are fielding for an offer that will entice them to move down. I hope we can somehow get Doncic and Bamba, but am 80% sure we're ending up with Carter and Hutchison.
  16. It depends on what the Bulls value. For example Carter doesn't project to be the same caliber of defender that Bamba is, while he might have a higher floor on the offensive end. I honestly don't think we will part of future picks to move up to 4th, especially since Memphis's primary motive is to move Parson's contract. I think it's justifiable if we swap Felicio and Parson's contract to move up 3 slots.
  17. Reports over last few weeks has Bamba stock rising and MPJ stock falling, with concerns around his health, athleticism, and offensive ceiling. I for one wouldn't be upset if we take Bamba over MPJ.
  18. Nia wasn’t full heel then. That segment could have work with any well established heel is what I’m saying, i.e. Carmella or IIconics. But of course Alexa Bliss gets all the credit so what’s new.
  19. Please. IMO last night's segment was all Ronda. She's dubbed as the baddest women and she showed exactly why by doing things you have not seen any woman done before.
  20. Based on Robert's IG post, he has been promoted to WS.
  21. Note Felix Mercedes has been converted to a pitcher. This is surprising because he was actually pretty good when he played the last 2 years.
  22. My bet is on Alexa Bliss to win the next Royal Rumble, even if she is already the champion.
  23. LOL The WS batting order looks like it's reversed of the beginning of the year. What the heck is Omar experimenting?
