It might be a worthwhile exercise to re-watch this game after and count how many calls Lebron got in his favor for being Lebron.
-
Wait, what happened to Pau?
-
Puke.
-
Dellavedova is their version of Hinrich, except that he can shoot.
-
I love it. All 20,000 strong in the UC wants to see their team take down Lebron.
-
That's now 3 calls in the last 2 games that Rose has lost to Lebron because Lebron is the official league poster child.

QUOTE (Brian @ May 8, 2015 -> 03:17 PM) It seems whomever I have in my avatar has been jinxed, so goodbye Chris Sale and hello... Lebron is a good start. Please add Kris Bryant and Aaron Rodgers.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ May 7, 2015 -> 12:57 PM) People keep saying this. Look at the average ages, and the typical development curves. He was in A+ at 22 last year, and he's likely to be in AA this year at 23. That is decidedly not old for level, even for a real prospect. This isn't a high school draftee with 4-5 years in either. He's fine age-wise and developmental curve-wise. If you are comparing him to phenoms, then sure, he's behind their curve age-wise. But they also were mostly high school types or LatAm types that were in the system in their teens. Engel isn't going to be a phenom. Compare his progress to regular starters in the majors that were college draftees. He's where he should be. If he is in AA this year at 23 as I think he will be (and likely pretty soon, as other than May and Hawkins there are no other real outfield prospects in BHAM, then on that track he'd likely be in AAA at 24. His bat was also considered raw coming out of college, and he still struggles a bit with strikeouts at times. I would rather have him take as much time as he needs to work on his swing and not throw him into the wolves, as we mentioned over and over again, the A+ to AA jump is far too significant.

If Rondon can hit .260 for the year, I would be happy.

5/6 Tigers at White Sox

The fact that Sale has a higher ERA than Simon ticks me off a little. I hope that changes by the end of tonight. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 5, 2015 -> 04:05 PM) Plus in 2011 Kyle Korver forgot how to "shoot" for > a week. That same Kyle Korver who became a first time All Star at age 34. Who would have imagined?

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 5, 2015 -> 04:09 PM) The way we shot in game 1 isn't sustainable whatsoever. I think that's my biggest worry at the moment. Cavs just don't have the talents defensively. Also, I think last night the Bulls were just taking what the Cavs gave them, and they were wide open in many of their jump shots. If Cavs adjust, expect the Bulls take to the hoop more and drawing more fouls, something that didn't happen last night.
-
He's shooting 45% from 16-23 ft. I always thought that's his true range, not that 3's. Obviously we like to see him take it to the hoop more, but I just don't think that's smart when Lebron's guarding him. So yea, if he ends up taking that mid range shot or set up Gasol or Butler in that situation, I wouldn't be complaining at all.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 5, 2015 -> 03:15 PM) Well...lets see...LBJ starts to defend Rose, all of a sudden we are going to have more struggles or at least have to adjust back. My presumption is that is the change we see and than we will need to see Pau / Butler step up with Rose pulling James out of the interior. They can put Lebron on Rose all they want, but it won't deter our offense the way it did in 2011, Butler and Gasol are a lot better shot creators and makers than Deng and Boozer. The other thing is Rose has had a lot more confidence and success with his 20 ft jump shot late in games than he did back in 2011, he actually had a couple against Lebron last night as well, so he doesn't have to take Lebron to the hoop every play.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 5, 2015 -> 11:56 AM) The Bulls under Thibs are 3-0 in Game 1 of series against a LeBron James led team in the playoffs. They are 0-8 after game 1's. Ehh Lebron's teams were clearly more talented than the Bulls in those 2 series. This time around, Bulls have a bit more talent than Cavs without Love. We have neutralized their HCA, now it will come down to who can make the right adjustments the rest of the series, something Thibs has gotten a lot of grieves about over the years.

Love this quote by Jimmy after last night. He ain't scurred!
-
I just have to say poor Niko, he's good enough to get more than 2 minutes even in a playoff game on any other team.
-
I am a bit excited about JB Wendelken as a relief pitcher. Kid has always got a good fastball and a nasty change, but his stamina fades quickly as a starter. As a reliever he should be a pretty quick riser.
-
Cleveland is just terrible against that Rose and Gasol pick and pop. They need to keep milking that cow until the udder runs dry.
-
I firmly believe that the Bulls can win this series if Rose outplays Kyrie. Lebron just can't win the series by himself.
-
That Kyle Schwarber guy is looking more legit everyday.
-
Let's hope the home court advantage doesn't get to us tonight. After disappointing losses in the last 2, I think some Bulls fans are saving that drive up to Milwaukee a game 6. You would imagine the Bucks crowd will be rukus tonight after surviving the last 2.

Looks at his stats, you can infer that Adams has some issues commanding his pitches. Dating back to last year, he has now allowed 72 hits in 55 innings in pro ball, that is a high number for a guy who throws in the mid 90's, even if he pitches to contact. A 70/7 K/BB ratio says he's throwing strikes, but he needs to throw more quality strikes.

2015 White Sox draft pick discussion

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 06:33 PM) Nobody said anything about writing him off. Sure, he's got potential, athletic/raw ability. With the premium on being able to put up 25-35 homer seasons offensively, and being left-handed...I just like Barnum more. Trey's a switch hitter. So you were correcting me for generalizing A and A+ leagues, but then go on to call Rookie ball A ball as well? Thanks for the laugh Caufield. And by the way, I still remember your gripes on Quintana and his six years in "A" ball, one of which was a suspended season. Regardless, most minor league gurus will tell you that the jump from A+ to Double A is the most difficult jump for minor leaguers, and Barnum has yet to make that jump. As for Barnum or Trey, we know that both have power potential. With his athletic frame, scouts said that Trey has power to hit 25+ HR's, and that's as a third basemen switch hitter. For me, with power being Barnum's only stand out tool, to say his career minor league slugging % is unimpressive for a first basemen is understating it. It's hard to make a case for Barnum passing Trey based on what they've done so far. -
2015 White Sox draft pick discussion

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 04:42 PM) At this point, I wouldn't be completely shocked if Barnum put it together and passed Trey. For some reason, he seems like he's going to end up close to Brent Morel statistically. Just a hunch. Hope I'm wrong. Geez, we're only 3 weeks into the season and you're already writing off Trey? He more than held his own in Kanny last year for a 19 year old. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Apr 28, 2015 -> 05:01 PM) Gee, how many times have we said that over the last 10-15 years about a position prospect? And of course the irony is Barnum is spending his 3rd year in A ball and is trending downward after his hot start in the first week.
