  1. Of course any sox fans would want Colon. Either Vazquez and Person would be good additions. Somebody not on the list that can help us is Rick Helling. He can eat up innings and be effective as well. Hey how about getting 2 veteran starters, this move will make our pitching solid. As usual this is just hopes and wishes. I believe we are not getting anybody unless KW do something. I dont want to put my hopes bcoz I am tired of being disappointed.
  2. Just to let you guys know, Omar Daal signed a two year deal with the Orioles. Thats another pitcher off our list if the Sox did intend to do a list of pitchers we were supposed to get and help our #1 weakness. There is nobody out there that can help our pitching.
  3. With the sox doesnt have a good option to fill in our rotation, we should get Lieber. We can sign him cheap bcoz of the surgery he had and we can wait for him to be back to his normal self. If he come off his rehab very well and get his stuff back, he is a very good pitcher. He pitched well for the Cubs and I think he can still do that. Just imagine if the surgery and rehab are both successful, we get an ACE out of Lieber and a great 1-2 punch (Buerhle and Lieber) w/c can be ranked as one of the best in the league all of a sudden. I think this is going to be a smart move if we get him. What do you guys think? I know he will be available to pitch way past the All Star Break but this can be a good long term plan. Our young pitchers get more experience and knowledge of the game, Lieber gets better this year and for the future with the sox, then our pitching becomes solid and consistent for the sox to be a contender for the WS every year.
  4. I like to have Singleton back to us and Fick wont be a bad idea either. Doesnt Fick have a no non-sense attitude who plays very hard for Tigers. We may need his energy. Singleton is a nice 4th outfielder he has good defense and hopefully he gets his bat skills improved.
  5. I agree we will never land any player who is a winner and can bring the SOX at one of the top teams in the league. I am so f***ing mad!! JR would never open his wallet to get us players like Colon, Milwood and any player which all the teams is after for. We will always get the nobodys on the league instead of the stand out players. If we're getting Paul Wilson, then add up Ritchie. WOW! These pitchers definitely put us the favorites to win the Central Division (we're not going anywhere this season!!!!). So where do the increase ticket price and the revenue we will get from celebrating the All-Star game go? I dont want JR and KW anymore!!
  6. I am so f***ing mad!!!!!!!!! Tell me we couldnt offer the Braves anything better. I know it came down to JR and KW not wanting to spend money. f*** them we really need new ownership. They are too busy trying to keep Todd f***ing Ritchie and there was Milwood available. What the f***!!!!! I have planned on going to lots of games this year but I dont know if I want to go anymore. Is there a way to send our angers to KW and JR? Milwood can put as to the top and they didnt do anything. Now I know we wont get anybody else that can make us contenders this year and years from now. Phillies got Milwood for nothing!!!!
  7. I would love to see him play CF for the Sox. He plays good defense much like Jacque Jones of the Twins. It would be nice to have someone who has great range in our CF. KW should be looking at this guy because on 2001, he hit 30 HRs and had 30 stolen bases(he only have 7 this year). I hope KW "TRIES" to sign Cruz.
  8. I hope we get him. Why is he being release? He hit .245, 18 HRs last year. We can really use him to be our cf and he is a switch hitter also. How much is he asking for?
  9. I just read an article on MLB.com that Jose Contreras was granted the free agency. The Red Sox are the top runner to get Contreras.
  10. How about this, trade Liefer for Juan Encarnacion of the Marlins. He has good power, good avg. and a great defensive outfielder. He can play centerfield for us and give us a much needed left handed bat in our lineup (I believe he is lefty). Hey who knows we might get him the Marlins are always unloading players.
  11. I am also excited to see what Crede can give us. He was one of the biggest positive we got out of the 2002 season. Didnt he hit like 12HRs in under 60 games. Make that a full season and he will have 30+ homers. I hope Borchard can find a way to improve his batting skills soon because with him in our lineup, Sox will be a top notch team. How bout for our pitchers in the minors? Can Stewart or Malone become a good starter for us in the majors soon?

KW, being the egomaniac that he is, wants to prove to Sox fans that the Ritchie trade wasn't one of the worst trades in recent White Sox history. So, last year be damned, Toad Ritchie WILL have a spot on the rotation this season just so KW can get his ego in check. You're right on the money there. He cant admit he was wrong with the Ritchie trade thats why he is holding on to him and wait if he can bounce back. I hope KW's being passive on making deals for any pitcher and opted to take on Ritchie again will not bite us right on our f***in ass.

  14. i was hyped out with all the rumors we might be getting another good pitcher (Ortiz/Colon/Vazquez) and i was wrong to be too excited about those. Plan B probably was KW's first option anyway. But I still think we still need a good pitcher in our rotation. Dempster would be a good idea if he can revert back from his success 2-3 years ago. Brad Penny is also an interesting option. I read somewhere today that Marlins might trade Juan Encarnacion also. If we could get them both, then it would be awesome. How about Mark Redman just to throw in there? I also heard on ESPN radio that Paul Byrd signed with Atlanta. Look at this rotation if Maddux come back to Braves: Milwood Maddux Ortiz Hampton Byrd - - - this is scary!!
  15. i set my hopes too that today we will get Ortiz from the SF. i dont know why KW didnt get Ortiz because we definitely need pitching. Good starters will bring us far to the postseason. we need another pitcher that can give us 18-20 wins the way Buerhle can. If we have two 20 game winners, that's half way to a winning season. WE DESPERATELY NEED A #2 guy. but i guess now we wont get that. I guess Plan B(staying with what we have) is what we will have all along. we dont have any options on who we'll get as our #2 starter. if KW cant pull this deal to get Ortiz then i am not sure KW can ever get Colon/Vazquez. i hope i am wrong with KW but what are the odds he can prove me wrong.
  16. i am hoping this is just a rumor. i hate to see Konerko go. we are still not sure how frank will perform this year and also what if he chooses to leave after this season then we dont have the offense we once have. i still hope we can get ortiz, colon or both of them because starting pitching will bring us to the postseason.
  17. yeah if we can give them wright or ritchie then I would be all for it.
  18. Its so hard to think of the trade rumor as either good or bad. First I dont want us to trade Garland. I think he is a better than average pitcher, he's young and will help us in the long run. I agree with some of the post that if there is a way we could give up other pitchers instead of Garland then bring it on. Garland is one of my favorite sox players and he fits perfectly with the SOX as a bunch of young and good players. If this trade takes place we end up having 2 ACES on our rotation. I like the sound of that. Then, Vidro and Jimenez at the middle will be awesome. And Vidro hits for average, has speed, and power also. If we can keep Garland I am all for this trade.
  19. Can somebody tell me when is the winter meetings? I am so excited bcoz I am hoping the Sox will come out big and get a good starting pitcher. I think the SOX will be very interesting this coming season. Do we guys have a chance to get Colon or Maddux? One of them will give the sox a great 1-2 punch in Buerhle and Colon/Maddux. If we cant get them, how about Byrd or Shawn Estes? At first I thought the Koch trade was awful bcoz we lose valentine. But I heard Koch talking on ESPN radio 1000 yesterday and he seems fun. He was making jokes about Rowands accident and Rowand should give him #44 for being stupid and hurting himself. He kept saying he wants the ball no matter how many innings he needs to be out there just to help the team win. He also said he was glad he didnt face maggs, paulie and frank that much last season bcoz they are great hitters.
  20. My first post was just my initial anger towards the trade. I guess it all depends on who we get for those 2 PTBNL from the A's. Hopefully we get players with close to a major league talent because I think Valentine will make it to MLB soon.
  21. Okay, I was waiting patiently for any Sox move for some time now. I havent posted anything bcoz I am so disappointed we havent gotten any starter yet (of course I want Bartolo Colon.) Then, I checked back here yesterday and there's a post about foulke for Koch. Ok, I said may be this is a good move, we get a real closer now and not having a guessing game in 9th inning who will close out. Today, I just got home and saw from the Sox's website that we traded Foulke, Johnson and Joe Valentine for Koch and 2 PTBNL. Its okay for me to let Johnson and Foulke go for Koch but why did we have to give up Joe Valentine. I think without Valentine, the trade seemed equal to me. But KW just keep giving up to much to get what he wants. Does KW knows the other side really wants our players also and we dont need to give up too much. Why would the PTBNL for us is Joe? Do you guys think KW will get high quality guys like Valentine for our 2 PTBNL from A's? I dont think KW is that smart!!!! Anyway, what do you guys think about this trade? For me I cant believe we gave up Valentine bcoz he is not just a minor leaguer, he has so much upsides in him that he can play in MLB.
  22. MJ for Lidle seemed to be a huge favor for us. Well. I guess KW is just not capable of making trades that the SOX would get more for the deal than the other team. Toronto gave up nothing to get this guy. I guess KW is looking for trades in which we will lose more than we are gaining some.
  23. Is there a way to tell JR try to get this guy. Is the SOX being aggressive on the market because I havent heard anything. Matsui would be great as a player and help the SOX promote the team. Comiskey was packed when the M's came here. If we get him its a win-win deal. The SOX will be one of the best teams and the seats will be all packed. Chicago is a very diverse city and the sox can market on this. Why cant JR try to sign a player this big and give us SOX fans something to be very excited about in the up coming seasons. I havent heard anything about Kaz but I read an article by P. Gammons that Kaz might come out a much better player than Hideki. Whoever it is from the Matsui's, we better get one of them.
  24. Hey about this guy, Hideki Matsui. He is a center fielder and a lefty power hitter. He plays in the Japanese league and he is a free agent. He hits homeruns from 20-40+ per year. I think he is 28 years old and has nicknamed "GODZILLA". I read that the Yanks are one of the teams interested in him. I hope the SOX make a run to get this guy. He can make our outfield one of the best in the league with Borchard, Hideki, and Maggs. We could really use his lefty power and good batting average. With his success in Japan, he should be able to attract a lot of people the way Ichiro does for the M's. So what do you think guys. I wish we can get him but as a Sox fan, we can only hope!!!
  25. I would love to see Luis Castillo as our 2nd baseman. Penny will be a good addition if he grows out to be a solid MLB pitcher. I just finished watching the World Series and I am happy for the Angels but depressed thinking when will the SOX win one. So, I compared the STATS for the 2002 season. SOX is as talented as the Angels. But the Angels had a better avg, low strike out total, high number of stolen bases and much better pitching. WE NEED TO FOCUS ON FUNDAMENTALS. Just to add, isnt Miguel Tejada a free agent this year? I would love to see him with the SOX. Howe is gone, maybe Tejada wants out too the management better try to get him.
