Hey clujer great job. Where is the game on?
-
I dont really care what the sports magazines or the so called expert say. The game is played on the field and the SOX themselves will determine the future not what has been said. I heard an announcer once said that baseball is a very unpredictable game. Sometimes the day is a baseball weather and sometimes you'll get a 4 hour rain delay. The ball is actually a round ball, you never know who will end up on top or at the bottom once the ball stops rolling. I just hope its time for the SOX to be on top!!!

I think Olivo should be with the team now. The only way he can learn our pitchers and start making the right calls is being around them. Olivo is the catcher of the future, our pitchers are here for a while so we need Olivo to get use to catching our pitchers now. Also, as long as Sandy is around, he can teach Olivo on how to call a game and be familiar with the hitters on the opposite team.

I didnt have any confidence in him when we got him. I thought of him as a pitcher that will replace Ritchie literally. But he is pitching great as of late so I wish him all the best in the Sox uni. Update: Sox over Rockies 12-1
-
There is no radio or mlb radio coverage for today's game against the Rockies. I dont know who is pitching but the Sox leads the Rockies 7-0. Daubach and Rowand homered. The game is on the 4th inning.

The players I like to see in the Sox's Black and Silver are Jose Vidro or Luis Castillo as our 2nd baseman. Vidro is a good hitter, with power and great defense. Castillo can be our lead off hitter. He has good defense and can score lots of runs with our offense. The pitcher I would love to see is Damian Moss who was traded to the Giants from the Braves. He is still young and last year he pitched great. He can fit in the rotation as the other lefty among the starters.
-
That is a great news. We need him desperately. I dont know why but Im not sold on Loaiza. His past record doesnt look good and I dont want another Ritchie here.

How much would Tejada amount if we sign him? I'd say he is looking for 10-15 million a year. It is going to be great if we can get him in the southside. Maybe its time for KW to out duel Beane for the first time for us to get Tejada if they decide to trade him or may be not. He will improve our middle-infield defense. If Manos is gone, Tejada will fill in as one of the leaders of the Sox. He is going to be a good compliment for Magglio, Paulie, and the rest. although Tejada will look great in the Silver and Black, I dont think Reinsdorf will open his wallet and increase his payroll.

This guy is a restricted Free agent. We could use him as our pass rusher. Its his 3rd year with the Packers so why not sign him an offer and steal him away from the Packers. His 12 sacks in '02 season will look good in the bears. He is still young and there are lot of room for improvement. At '01 season, he had 13.5 sacks. I dont really like Daniels and Robinson so trade them or something. Then we will end up with Alex Brown and Gbaja-Biamila. If the bears dont make a run for him, we better get Terrell Suggs then. What do you guys think?

Great job Clujer. I missed the game I had a class this afternoon and played basketball after. Thanks for the play by play!! It seems like I saw the game for the complete coverage!
-
Ok guys I dont mean to be a pessimist but just what if our pitching doesnt do well with Wright's condition pending and the search for the number 5 starter didnt give us anything to be excited about (dont trust Loaiza) who can we trade for? Who is going to be available for trades during the season? I am trying to look for free agent pitchers after this season that might be on the trading block but I cant find anything. Also, without too much thinking (available or not even on dreams), who do you guys want to get? For me, I would say a young and proven pitcher will be a good addition. I like Damian Moss of the Giants.
-
I still wish we could had him he will be a good fit for us. But he decided to join the Twins so thats another motivation to play our best and beat up the Twins!!!! GO SOX!!!
-
Crede and El caballo homered off Keith, awesome and the game is tied! The sox are giving Foulke a nice warm welcome.
-
Thanks for the play by play coverage. Im at skul right now and no chance to hear the game. The past couple of games the bullpen has not been good, at least this is just spring training.
-
Buerhle to open the season!!!
-
Sox took the test! This is an article on the White Sox's website regarding the incident earlier about the steroid testing. It says some of the SOX players thought about skipping the test to make the results more of positives and make the testing mandatory in MLB. It also cleared up that the players are not scared to get positive results. The players scheduled for the test took it and at least all the confusion and speculations are over.
-
I just checked the scores at CBS sportsline. the sox leads 1-0 over the A's. The only run so far in the 4th inning is Maggs' HR. do you guys know who are the pitchers for today?
-
I dont think the team is mad at Crede. After the season was over, I read articles about JM saying Crede played awesome that is why Crede was given a time off and didnt need to play in the winter ball.
-
I dont think Borchard is gonna be on the opening day roster but I think we SOX fans are going to see him fairly quickly after spending just a couple of months on the AAA. He looks great hitting a homerun the other game, hitting doubles to drive in runs and now a grand slam. Can't hardly wait for him to arrived at the Cell and stay there.

Hmmm...I didn't hear that part, and I heard most of the game. Maybe they were bunching them with those crappy teams because they will all be trying to dethrone the Twins -- but I don't know. If they're saying the other teams are as talented as the Sox are, then they are even more pathetic than I thought. At the beginning, they cant seem to figure where the SOX will end up even though we added up Colon. But no hard feelings, its better for the SOX to be the underdog under the TWINS bcoz the past 2 years we have been the favorite and we end up 2nd. I think the excitement of the club and the drive to take over the Twins are great attitudes for the SOX to have this season.
-
That I agree with. We lost the Central to the Twins last season due in large part to our record in 1-run games. If it was late in the game last year, it just seemed like we choked and ended up losing. And although ST means very very little to me, winning close games is something that can definitely carry over into the regular season. And winning a close game after coming back from 6 down is also a very good sign. It is a good sign we finally win a game after being down all game long. This is a good sign and we can bring this up towards the season. Last year, I was so f***in pissed bcoz the SOX cant execute to get that RUN that wins the game. I know this is just a spring training game but Rooney and Farmer always says on the broadcast that SOX better start well bcoz it has trickle down effect towards the season.
-
Yeah, I was going to point that out, but I didn't see a need to -- they just stunk. At least they realize they suck, though. I was listening earlier and I heard them talk about the SOX being at the level of the Royals, Indians, and Tigers. They are that bad not to even know the SOX are a good team.
-
Looks like he is ready for the season and step up to be the leader of the SOX.

You're right, I read the Tribune and the article said Jon retired 3 out of 5 batters he faced on K's. Its a great article on Garland and its on one of the topics on the board so I wont make a link for it. There is also a great article on Aaron Miles on the Trib. The article said Miles had 2 hits against Colon and that healso made great defensive plays. They also compared him to David Eckstein being small and irritating to pitchers (I guess). JM really like Miles also.
-
Thats great to see that Jon learns to trust his stuff and be confident on the mound. 3Ks out of 5 batters sounds good. Also, that 3.16 ERA on his last 12 starts last year is awesome.
