I read on CBSsportsline.com that the Padres were close on trading for Giles and Kendall. The Pirates really wants to unload them. Hope the Sox can make a trade for them. It also stated that the Sox are inquiring about Ponson. I think he will definitely give us more wins as our #5 starter and help the Sox to get to the playoffs.

Me too. But, IMHO, the Sox marketing sucks. All you have to do is go to a game at USCF when Ichiro comes to town or, in September, when Matsui comes to town and you will see that the Asian market is there and incredibly willing to fork over ticket money if there is a "hometown" player they want to see. But this team needs more Kids Days and Seniors Run the Bases Days There are lots of Asian in Chicago and I am one of them and I love the SOX. I was at the game last year when Buerhle pitched against the M's and USCF was packed. I say the attendance will improve if this guy makes it. That's why we have been losing. We have been patiently waiting for the right pitch, next thing we know the batter struck out. We have been patiently waiting for the mistakes of the opposition but you cant count on it; the SOX needs to make its own destiny. We dont need to be patient this time. Today's game was awful. Mike Cameron beat the 9 guys we have in the line up. He drove in more runs than the offense we had for the two days against them. I heard an interview of somebody from the Mariners that Cameron was joking about coming to CAMERON FIELD bcoz he owns the sox. That guy also said that Cameron is a free agent this year. With that thought, I think he would look good back at the silver and black. He is a good offensive and defensive CF that we dont have.

Almonte needs to be here. His talent is being wasted at AAA. I dont know why he keeps putting Gordon and White, they always give up runs when they are in. I dont know if JM is suckin KW's ass by putting KW's acquisitions or KW demands it.

We really need a manager who shows fire and acts like he is playing on the field with his reactions etc. We have so much talent and it sickening to think that it would be wasted.

I didnt want to blame JM for what has happened the last few seasons. But now, from what Im seeing from the CUBS, manager really makes a difference. Dusty provides a winning attitude and he is able to get the best out of his players. JM has great baseball players but he doesnt show any life in games and that carry over to the team. I would rather have a team that have all kinds of handshakes and celebrations when they win a game or a great play was made than a lifeless team. We need some fire out of the manager. Another example the Royals, their manager has a great attitude and look at them they are playing way over their talents.

Thats a good observation. Its hard to see an out turn out to be a run. That has been the case so far and definitely defense has to improve. Olivo has not had his groove on the plate but damn he got a canon of an arm. I saw the game against detroit. He threw out Kingsale and not even getting a quick release but very accurate.

Hey clujer420, I am excited as you are and I bet all of us Sox fans cant sleep bcoz of the anticipation of the first game tomorrow. I think thats a good idea for you to do play by play bcoz you do an awesome job on it. I wont be able to catch the first 1:30hrs of the game bcoz I have a class. But I know as you always do will give me a recap of what has happened. I agree with you regarding the so called experts. The game is played on the field and the SOX determine their own future not what the experts say. Who cares if we are the underdog and nobody picks the sox, we can just sneak in and the opponents wont know what happened to them. We have a good pitching staff and a great offense. The defense is the main question but I know they worked hard on that closely. Cant hardly wait! GO SOX!!!!!

I think they will see how Olivo responds in a month period. If Olivo is all well, JP is gone either traded if somebody want his ass or just release him. I like Miles, Manuel compared him to Eckstein, we need pesky guys like him on the SOX who gets on base with lots of energy. Can he play SS?
