Final Standings for AL Central
It is Soxtalk.com so some White Sox bias is to be expected. However, nationally it is not uncommon to see the White Sox picked to win their division. I look for some very good races in all mlb divisions. I don't see a clear favorite in any divsion. Pitching and my own bias persuade me to take our Sox to win it all.

If our pitching stays healthy I fear no other team, east, central, west, or National League.

"The Lost World Series celebration Tape"
Time for another one. Can't live off of one in 93 years. '06,1917,'05, and how about 2010. Gotta have it again and again!

Growing Concern About Garcia
He's earned at least a few starts. Lets give him the benefit of the doubt. If we get off to a bad start then there will be more pressure for him to perform. A good start by the team will extend his stay of execution by KW.

Final Standings for AL Central
The Tigers are pretty balanced and a good manager. I would'nt count them out.

Who do you want to get the last roster spot?
I'd love to have the luxury of carrying Hudson for long relief and spot starts, but I went with Nix because I think you have to have more than one spare infielder. Vizquel replaces anyone for any reason and then an in game injury and you are caught with what? Kotsay or Konerko at third base. Nope, gotta have two infielders on the bench. Besides Hudson would only be a phone call away.

Some perspective
His baserunning, yeah bad. How about those instincts he displays in the field though!

2010 Chicago White Sox Spring Training
I understand what an established pitcher tries to accomplish in spring training. It's just uncomfortable as a fan watching your whole starting staff get hit so hard so often. You can't wipe away a career of success because of a spring training. The Sox have five established staters with a rook in the wings. It's a long season and barring excessive injury we should prevail in the long run. Nothing like a pennant race down the stretch. Lets hope we are part of and victors of one. Strap it on and hunker down boys we are almost there!

SOXTALK'S BOLD PREDICTIONS
Pitching injuries and offensive woes lead to Kenny axing Ozzie!

ST: vs Diamondbacks 3PM
I'm not a big believer in spring training stats, but the starting pitching has been getting smacked around pretty good lately. I don't like it, especially as we near the end of the spring.

Andruw Jones spring training mean anything?
Without a set Dh Ozzie can rotate players in the outfield. It should help any one who is nursing an injury. Two pretty good outfielders defensively (Pierre and Quentin ) and two very good ones ( Jones and Rios ) works for me. They can all get playing time. Either in the field or at DH.

Black and white with our logo is a winner. Home whites and road grays. Lose the black tops. Stability and consistency are what makes a team recognizable and remembered. A timeless look. Keep it for a few generations so our sons and daughters and their kids can relate better to the same team we do.

What are the chances of the Sox eating Linebrink's contract?
Bullpens are always worrisome. Dotel and Linebrink last year? Stomach ulcer time. Jenks hasn't been the same for about a year and a half now. He has been awful so far this spring. Putz is coming off injury any hard thrower coming off injury is to be questioned until he proves he can do it again. All teams have question marks in the pen. It is the nature of it. Most of those guys were not good enough to make it as starters so they are second tier pitchers or reclamation projects or no control hard throwers. Our pen could go either way and most guys will have good and bad outings. Ozzie and Cooper will have to place the right guy in the right spot at the right time for success. .........Except Linebrink he's done.

Nice article about Danks1 and Floyd
Nice read by Sox organization on Gio Gonzales. I remember him being touted as a phenom. A wrecked Freddy and him for Gavin. Not bad. Same with Mc carthy. He certainly contributed in'05 but Cooper or some one decided he wasn't all that and they got Danks for him. Nice going White Sox!

Who gets the final bench spot?
Cut linebrink. Carry Retherford and Nix.

Competitors for the open bullpen slot
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Mar 9, 2010 -> 11:19 AM) I think Dolsi, Cabrera and possibly Threets have made bad enough showings (early) that they may now be out of the picture. Williams has the LOOGY job unless he looks awful. The last spot in the pen will come down to Santos or Hudson, and I'd bet they want Hudson getting more innings, and they keep Santos. Yep, I think you hit it just right.

The 2010 DH Slot -- What it is, what it isn't
I think you do have to be careful about not losing the Dh spot through field sustitutions. The point though is the flexibility of mixing and matching can be used through out the lineup and during the game. Not being locked into one player as your Dh can work for the right manager. Earl Weaver used to platoon his Dh, righty, lefty, everytime. Of course we have Ozzie. I guess we will now find out if he can manage. I'm hopeful, but not confident.

Competitors for the open bullpen slot
He could suck right from the get go. The guy scares me when ever I see him warming up. Big money and big name I don't know what Kenney can do. I guess trot him out there for a while longer and hope & pray. Something has to give with him soon though, not only is he hurting us now but he is holding others back.

The 2010 DH Slot -- What it is, what it isn't
It doesn't have to be just Kotsay and Jones for the situational scenario. They may start at DH and finish in the field. One of the starters may be pinch hit for and some one like Vizquel may lay down a bunt and then move into the Dh spot for the rest of the game, or go to short and put Alexi at Dh for the rest of the game. Ozzie may remove some one for defense ( Konerko for instance ) late in the game put Kotsay at first and Paulie at DH. The flexibility and situational matchups don't end with just Kotsay and Jones. As long as you have guys who play the field the Possibilities exist all through the lineup. Even a pitcher may pinch run and be put in the DH spot and then when his turn to bat comes up be pinch hit for, with the pinch hitter going into the Dh spot and not in the field.

Keep Hudson and Santos in the pen and get rid of Linebrink

The 2010 DH Slot -- What it is, what it isn't
For those of old enough to remember when the DH first started, it was a way to get the pichers bat out of the lineup. Instead of an automatic out in the 9th spot you put a 9th place hitter. As the homer era took over and aging stars could not play the field the trend toward a power hitter as Dh took over. But any bat you need is an option there. It also meant you could pinch hit that spot with out replacing your pitcher. If you have a great hitter for that spot fine, but if not use it for situational match ups.
