  1. He is not a 2 hitter. Leave him where he is. If gets and stays hot move him up to the 6th spot. He is a rbi man not a bat handler.
  2. If he doesn't go in as an Indian, then who can say for sure mlb would put "the big hurt" in as a white sox. You must have consistency in this area.
  3. Once we know how good he is,won't everyone else know too?
  4. I almost thought of one, then I had a "brain cramp".
  5. His latest favorite? Don't stop now boys!
  6. Kc is six games behind the Twins. You can be sure they are salivating at the chance to get in the hunt. Don't overlook this series. They are 7-3 in their last ten, coming off a road sweep in Seattle. Take care of our own business first, but I have to admit I do love seeing the Twins fall.
  7. Maybe not brutal in the field, but below average. Once around the league and he will have to make adjustments. Could help us out for a while though. I don't think he is up to stay.
  8. It's pretty bad when you wish you had Chris Getz back. I'd rather have not traded him for Teahan. Anyway, Beckham's glove is not so good you can carry that dead bat all year. Not if you plan on competing for the playoffs. Ramirez was a good second baseman but he is playing too good right now to mess with him. Nix would also have been an answer but is gone now. Play lillibridge there. Viciedo and Teahan at third. With Vizquel, the magician, as relief at all three spots. Beckham has got to go down, and get it together. He will get another chance if he does well.
  9. Overall I like both Gardenhire and Leyland. The question though was at "gut check" time who do you like best. I'll take the unortodox, frustrating Ozzie. His players seem to come through in a pinch.
  10. He had trouble making adjustments after the league adjusted to him near the end of last season. They started pitching him up, and then low and away. He chased both, and constantly fell behind 1-2 or 0-2. He seems a little better lately and of course still has the potential to be solid. Maybe he needed these growing pains , a little lesson in humility can make one more humble and determined. I'm pulling for him as all sox players, but he may still end up in the minors. He has to get close to .250 and play solid defense before he is my regular second baseman.
  11. We got rid of Thome ( a left handed home run hitter ) so Ozzie could get away from an everyday dh. Now we are going after Dunn ( a left handed home run hitter ) to make him our everyday dh? I don't get it. If we are committed to a new style of play then lets commit, and get past the slow strikeout guys in the middle of our lineup.
  12. When Jenks comes back keep Threets up and lose Williams or Linebrink.
  13. Linebrink can be traded. The Sox would have to pay a large portion of his salary and get nothing good in return but at least we get him out od our bullpen. You must have a second tier in the pen so the top guys don't pitch every day. Erik Threets, ( a lefty ) at Charlotte has a .056 era. He looked good in spring training too. I would like to see him get a chance over Williams. I think Williams could be sent down.
  14. Beckham has fallen so low I'd rather have Chris Getz at second. He hit .261 last year and has a very good glove. Then we wouldn't have to have Teahan either.
  15. Give Beckham until Teahans return. Then if still the same send him down and play Viciedo at third with Vizquel at second. If Viciedo is a bust too then put Teahan back at third. Viciedo can't be any worse than Beckham has been. Beckham is beginning to get in the way of others.
  16. This kid is killing us. Two balls off his glove tonight, a strike out, a tapper back to the mound, and a swing and a miss on a hit and run. Back under the Mendoza line for his batting average? I've said it before the big leagues are not a training ground. This kid is over matched. The league figured him out the last month of last season. We need him on the bench or in AA! All you defenders must have some kind of crush on him. Be realistic. We have a chance to win this division, this is not the time to develope potential, but play your best nine. He is not ( at least right now ) one of them.
  17. It isn't about Beckham it is about the Sox. Vizquel should play second and bat second. That gives us our best chance.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 29, 2010 -> 11:57 AM) Yes, Teahen is a mediocre defender, but at best Gordon and Alexei could be the best SS-2B tandem out there. Also, hitting wise, Alexei is a far better hitter with warmer weather, and he's heating up. Gordon still has great potential, and Teahen, well, he's Teahen. Lets not candy coat the truth, but lets not cover it in **** either. Ramirez and Beckham the best in the league? Are you voting for them as all stars?
  19. I didn't say he got hit on the wrist. I said he can't risk getting hit there since the wrist injury. Come to think of it he hasn't been the same since. Never healed right?
  20. He can't risk getting hit on that wrist. Look at how few times he has been hit compared to past years.
  21. The bigs are not a developemental league. Either he gets it going for real now or I'd rather see Vizquel at short and Ramirez at second. If Beckham can get his average over 250 maybe put vizquel at 3rd and make Teahan utility or trade him for a prospect. Teahan, Ramirez, Beckham, what an infield. Average at best defensivesly and can't hit the floor if they fell out of bed. Whew are they bad! Sox fan forever and always will be., but lets not candy coat the truth.
  22. He's killin' us. Especially hitting second. He's got to go down, for as long it takes to earn another a shot. The bigs are not a training ground.
  23. Forget the booth. Hitting coach!
