  1. A little concerned here about the pitching. Bullpen and rotation.
  2. A tough call. He of the iron glove and no plate discipline. He has a presence though doesn't he. I don't know what you could get for him now. Play him and his value can go up or down. Another year in the minors to up his value then trade him. His defense is too big a liability. It is baseball after all not home run derby.

Crede, Dye, Rowand, Uribe, Pods, '05 gone gone gone. Love it but let it go.
  4. I believed the hype about Lee and his defense but I honestly just don't see it. Konerko is very good at recieving throws and handles pop ups well. He has an excellent arm, is sure handed but has limited range. Konerko has a better bat. It's all Paulie. Lee peaked in '03 against the cubs. I'll be forever grateful for that but I don't want him. Pena? Nope.
  5. No more cringing watching Linebrink warm up? No more "Oh no, sinking feeling as he comes in? I wish him well, maybe he will find some success in the National league, but I am glad he is gone. I don't care who we got for him.
  6. QUOTE (kwolf68 @ Dec 2, 2010 -> 11:25 PM) How much worse defensively is Dunn than Quentin? exactly!
  7. He was a character, but he could play.
  8. I think Kenny is done with A.J. and so am I. He can't throw any body out and if he hasn't set the record for grounding to the second baseman he will. Konerko is a tough call. Did that thumb hold him down for several years or was last year just a career year? I don't envy Kenny on that one. If in doubt don't sign him. Bring Putz back.
  9. The combination of missing him the least and still getting something worthy for him is Floyd.
  10. Let the mayor handle it the way he did Meigs Field. Cubbies? Las Vegas awaits!
  11. I hear the Alomar brothers are available.
  12. Is he so anxious to play here. He will get offers and sign in the A.L. east.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 12, 2010 -> 05:45 PM) They don't even need a World Series, they are going to be playing baseball in April and even March. Yeah, but those games would not cause the commotion world series or playoff games would. I guess they could postpone and get them in some how, but if the match up is Minnesota and say Colorado the ratings would already be low. Postponements putting the games to mid November with two small markets teams could be a real fiasco for mlb and fox.
  14. This year we had warm weather, but I could see some world series games snowed out in Minneapolis ( if the twins could ever advance beyond the first round).
  15. This time last year I was not as high on Beckham as most others on this site, but I am not for trading him either. Ramirez and Beckham as a double play combination should be left in place to continue to solidify. This is good leave it alone. If Morel can hit and they sign Konerko it is a very solid infield.
  16. Scott Linebrink-Oops! Already got him, Trevor Hoffman then.
  17. We are in big big big trouble now! All kidding aside Lucy seemed like he could play some. I could live with him at backup.
  18. This bunch? If one team signed them all I'm not sure they would make the playoffs!
  19. He can't play the field full time. Just too big a liability. Part time first base, DH, and back up catcher? Ok but he will cost.
  20. If they are so good then how come one playoff year in the last five?
  21. Like most players A.J. goes through hot streaks and good years and bad streaks and years. I could live without him but don't see Flowers as the replacement. If you sign a veteran you would be lucky to get some one as good as A.J. Trade Flowers and try to get another prospect to groom, meanwhile sign A.J. for 2 years.
  22. Mark Buerhle---He has a special place in all Sox fans hearts. If he is not a Hall of famer he is at least a candidate. Having said that, we know he is not as effective as he once was. Some players are just special and deserve special treatment. Letting Carlton Fisk go while on a road trip in Cleveland was classless and caused bad feelings for ,many years. Frank Thomas left under bad circumstances. Don't let that happen with Mark. If he is hurting the Sox in the rotation then move him to the pen for the duration of his contract. Let him walk after his contract is up on good terms, or trade him to St. Louis to finish up a great career in his hometown. Don't just trade this White Sox icon for a couple of prospects. Give him the respect and special treatment he is due.
  23. He is a butcher in the field. He can hit but he won't if he swings at everything. I say package him in a trade. He is another guy with out a position.
  24. Yeah, I think Berkman can still hit. Also we will need a backup firstbaseman. It's just that we are always getting guys off the scrap heap. Another washed up star.
