It worked out that way but it wasn't planned.

QUOTE (That funky motion @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 02:01 PM) I got this from a radio guy who comes in my business. He said, he ran into Ozzie's son at the East Bank Club. Ozzie's son said that if the Sox don't sign Oz to an longer deal, that Oz will call Jim Hendry personally, to try to manage the Cubs. So the sox can never get rid of any player, coach, or manager because he might find success with the cubs and make the sox look bad? Screw that and the cubs too!

Larussa would want to win right away. That is Kenny's style. Let them give it a try for a couple of years and then do an overhaul if necessary. At least we would get a real pitching coach.
-
I'm forever grateful for 2005. Having said that lets face it. It ain't workin'. Ozzie's teams always seem to fade the second half. Don't know why. Coop ain't all that. Teaches a pitcher to throw strikes, like no one ever thought of that before. Kenny's win now at all costs would be fine if he won now,but.......I guess I keep Kenny and bring in an experienced manager for another run at it before a total overhaul.

I remember when Larussa was here the first time. I have also seen his entire managerial career. If it is time for a change then better him than some unknown or unproven. Right now I'm mad at the world and want big changes. As I said IF these types of changes are made I think Larussa, Duncan and Hahn are good choices. Are we ever going to win another game?

Just venting? Ok, I'm just sick about this season. I knew Minnesota had a better lineup going in but I felt they didn't have the pitching we did. We got dominated by them again and I don't see them getting any worse for the next few years. We have a very good team but I don't see, as things are now, how we can overcome them any time soon. I guess I'm depressed over the belly up finish. I not sure where to turn for improvement.

You were right it was a sweep!

On my team no one is "untradeable" ( is that a word? ), but it would have to be a very sweet deal. Beckham is and will be a very good defensive player. Just keeps getting better with the glove. He hit well the second half and probably will continue to improve. He is cheap for a few more years freeing up money for pitching.

Ridiculously long, good Posnanski article on KW.

I don't give a crap about Williams as a person. He can be a saint or a sinner. Exciting or dull. Black, white or gray. I only want championships. Save this kind of personality stuff for the soap opera. One championship so far. Time for another! -
I'm angry but not a poor loser. Congratulations to the Minnesota Twins. They overcame their own adversity and really turned it on in the second half. With out Morneau! Having said that I hope they go three and out in the first round!!

Alexi is decent base runner and he is really fast. Those things don't always translate into base stealer. In total he is a keeper. He has a big desire to win.

Keep them both and lets play ball.

Juan Agosto lives in Tony Larussa's basement -
This is a tough time to do a fair analysis. This team will win 90 or more games. It would probably win about have the mlb divisions. It is eay at this point to just want to throw the whole thing away and start over, but there many good players here to stay with. Piching, pitching and more pitching. Floyd,Danks, Beurhle,Jackson? Not as great as most people seem to think.

A little different next year. Tough April but no early road trip to Toronto. Easier second half for a change. Seems we often get the second tier teams early when they are still in it and hot. I'd rather play the bad teams late when they have given up.

QUOTE (GREEDY @ Sep 13, 2010 -> 08:23 AM) The only thing getting behind Carlos is "low, looping, line drives". Thats just not true, some balls go right over his head!

The Dybber shall live in infamy................Wonder what former White Sox Jose Canseco is up to now that he been blackballed by MLB, even though he was right along. -
If anyone here still likes Teahen...
soxrwhite replied to ChiliIrishHammock24's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Teahan can hit but not good enough to live with his defense. A utility player has to play defense above all. There is no place for this pretty good player. He has to do something extremely well and he doesn't. He runs ok, he hits good, his defense is below average, when you add it all up,sorry, but no place for him in the lineup or on the bench. -

Jerry Dybzinski is still practicing his base runnig. -
Keep trading until you get a five tool player at every position? Yeah right. Quentin is streaky but we know he can hit. He is 28 and our right fielder for the now and the future. Accept his defense and get behind him. With his injury record we must have a good utility outfielder to fill in.
-
He's our right fielder.
