10 games back has always been a cut off for me. Any team not within single digits is no threat. Yeah it is only April but behind by double digits in last place is real bad. It only took one month to fall 10 games back. 20 games back by the end of May if the same pattern continues? For example if Cleveland plays 500 how long will it take the Sox to catch up. A hot streak would certainly help but as of now no legitimate reason to be optimistic. GO SOX!

How much longer until Morel and Beckham are starting at Charlotte? Vizquel and Teahen should play more. Pierre and Vizquel should bat one two. I wish it wasn't this way but I have seen about enough of Beckham and Morel is not MLB ready yet if ever. If A.J. grounds out to the first or second baseman again I'm am going to...........well something.

Why doesn't Ozzie start Teahen and let him get three at bats and put Morel in at the end for defense? Instead you have Morel getting three at bats and Teahen on the field at the end of the game.

Go ahead and crucify me for this but, how about easing Peavey back by putting him in bullpen and leaving Humber in the rotation until he begins to falter.

The most likely is A.J. grounding out to the second baseman.

This team needs leadrship. Ozzie is capapble of throwing anyone under the bus at any time. Since his obcenity filled tirade where he said he had "no closer I've tried everyone" (deflecting the blame on the players) this team has sucked. A change in the dugout could unite a talented bunch. Not to mention tighten up some of the silly moves Ozzie makes. I will forever be grateful for 2005 but this ship is off course.

Commit suicide? Far fetched and naive I suppose but how about replacing KW with Joe Torre and firing Ozzie and hiring Lou Piniella. Kinda wild huh?

Who would new managerial candidates be? Buddy Bell?

Maybe they should adopt a play "all out" philosophy.

More a discussion of Getz plus what the Sox could have got for Beckham, vs. keeping Beckham. This site often points out the lack of home grown talent. Getz came up through each level of the Sox system. Starting slowly but improving enough to advance all the way to the big league team. He continues to improve now batting leadoff as Kansas City's regular second baseman. Beckham hits eight for the Sox and has had one half of a rookie season that was good. I am not so pro Getz as I am not so enamored with Beckham. I don't care where he was drafted, at this point Getz is producing as much as Beckham. The Sox could have got more for Beckham than they did for Getz. Did the Sox keep the wrong guy?

Getz is better defensively and faster. At least he steals more bases. Their average is about the same but Beckham is a better.............what? At the time the Sox could have gotten a lot for Beckham and also they would not now have Teahen, and his salary.

Just wondering. Would the Sox have been better off trading Beckham and keeping Chris Getz?
