  1. A.J. has been the most hated man in baseball for a long time. He behaved himself when K.W. took a chance on him and now the ass***e in him is re-emerging. The biggest ass is the manager. I could see it being an uncomfortable situation for some guys. But so what, make your big money and win ballgames. Winning is fun remember. It cures all ills.
  2. QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ May 1, 2011 -> 10:48 AM) I don't think that the entire league has "figured out" Gordo or found a way to exploit his approach. If you think the league has found something please point it out because I haven't seen anything special they are doing against him. He's getting started way too late and fouling off every good pitch to the right, just a hair late every time. Walker needs to be held accountable for the prolonged slumps of our hitters and figure out a way to get them right again much, much quicker. And it's not only April when we don't hit, it's also September as well let's not forget under Walk and I've had enough of it. You haven't noticed his weakness for the high heater?
  3. Never thought I would miss Chris Getz!
  4. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ May 1, 2011 -> 01:53 AM) By this logic, the manager should NEVER be fired! You cannot fire the players, Kenny isn't going anywhere until after the season (as much as I'd love for him to be fired too) and you also cannot just sit there as the "all in" season burns to the ground long before Memorial Day. Somebody is going to take the fall if this doesn't turn around fast, and the only way it'll get the players attention at all is if it's Ozzie. Do I think it'll make a difference? Probably not. I think the end game here is a new manager and Rick Hahn as the GM on opening day of 2012. But, the team can't just give up like I already have. Its got to be Ozzie/Oney. Walker is not a big enough impact. Ozzie is the bombshell to let the players know they are going to go too if this doesn't change now. No one is sacred. If Ozzie can get fired the players can get sent down released or traded. Light a fire under their asses with a bold move. Bring in Bobby Valentine.
  5. Kw has put together a collection of talented players, instead of a team.
  6. I can't make a case for him any more. Every year he talks about how important defense is and every year the Sox defense is sloppy at best. He preaches how his team should play the game right and fundamentals like base running are very poor. Pinch hitting, pinch running, and late inning defensive replacements almost never happen. His son publicly revealing private clubhouse issues. Enough, since we all the negatives and the thread is make a case FOR him. Positives? I don't know anymore.
  7. Watched tonights game. I felt like laughing at times. I felt like crying at times. Was just plain pissed off most of the time.
  8. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 29, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) Love this board and I take no pleasure in being right predicting this as a mediocre team (at best) during this offseason, but what were optimists thinking? You were not right...............They are not mediocre. They are downright ugly..............right now. If they come back I hope you remember this I told ya so. I know you are a Sox fan and Sox fans ( most ) are realistic, but it is too early to gloat. You can not read a eulogy yet. The body may still have life in it. GO SOX!
  9. 10 games back has always been a cut off for me. Any team not within single digits is no threat. Yeah it is only April but behind by double digits in last place is real bad. It only took one month to fall 10 games back. 20 games back by the end of May if the same pattern continues? For example if Cleveland plays 500 how long will it take the Sox to catch up. A hot streak would certainly help but as of now no legitimate reason to be optimistic. GO SOX!
  10. QUOTE (zenryan @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 08:11 PM) maybe he gave up jerking off for lent. Lent is over so if he builds back up as the season goes on I guess you would be right.
  11. Tough call but even banging Liza would be better than going north. Don't talk that way man, c'mon things will get better.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 28, 2011 -> 01:31 PM) And that will be the day J4L finds a new team to cheer for. Oh my goodness if that happens. I might switch over to the Cubs. Even thinking that makes me question your loyalty. Suicide yes, Cub fan no!
  13. How much longer until Morel and Beckham are starting at Charlotte? Vizquel and Teahen should play more. Pierre and Vizquel should bat one two. I wish it wasn't this way but I have seen about enough of Beckham and Morel is not MLB ready yet if ever. If A.J. grounds out to the first or second baseman again I'm am going to...........well something.
  14. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Apr 26, 2011 -> 10:32 AM) Not sure where to post this, but the other night I dreamed that Frank Thomas had been murdered. I am obviously one deeply disturbed White Sox fan. Too bad it wasn't Ozzie
  15. Why doesn't Ozzie start Teahen and let him get three at bats and put Morel in at the end for defense? Instead you have Morel getting three at bats and Teahen on the field at the end of the game.
  16. Go ahead and crucify me for this but, how about easing Peavey back by putting him in bullpen and leaving Humber in the rotation until he begins to falter.

    Dunn

The most likely is A.J. grounding out to the second baseman.
  18. QUOTE (Swingandalongonetoleft @ Apr 25, 2011 -> 12:20 PM) For every example of a team firing a manager during the season and then succeeding you can probably find 10 teams who started slow, stuck with their manager, and succeeded anyway. The reason the team is losing games is because it isn't hitting like it should. That falls on the shoulder's of the guys with the bats, not Ozzie Guillen. Under this reasoning a manager is not needed. Only guys with bats.
  19. I wish it wasn't true but I think Ozzie is the problem. The GM doesn't like him and I don't think the players do either. Players will seldom rip their manager especially seeing what happens when you do. What happens? Ask Bobby Jenks, Orlando Cabbrerra, Magglio Ordonez, Nick Swisher,etc................Oney lurks too.
  20. What happens more often? Dunn strikes out or A.J. grounds out to the second baseman?
  21. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 24, 2011 -> 07:03 PM) Walker getting fired would be interesting, but I don't know if it would be effective enough. If anybody gets fired it should be Ozzie. And when Ozzie is replaced, Kenny should also be blasted publicly by Reinsdorf if he has the guts to go to the news conference. Yep! Exactly. Firing Walker is not enough. Make a splash and let Kenny do what he has wanted to do for a long while now. Fire Ozzie and Oney!
  22. This team needs leadrship. Ozzie is capapble of throwing anyone under the bus at any time. Since his obcenity filled tirade where he said he had "no closer I've tried everyone" (deflecting the blame on the players) this team has sucked. A change in the dugout could unite a talented bunch. Not to mention tighten up some of the silly moves Ozzie makes. I will forever be grateful for 2005 but this ship is off course.
  23. Commit suicide? Far fetched and naive I suppose but how about replacing KW with Joe Torre and firing Ozzie and hiring Lou Piniella. Kinda wild huh?
  24. Who would new managerial candidates be? Buddy Bell?
  25. Maybe they should adopt a play "all out" philosophy.
