The White Sox are going through one of their ugly, almost unwatchable sreaks. Man they look bad. I remain optimistic because I have seen these slumps before. Also Minnesota and Detroit are not pulling away. Cleveland and K.C. may remain in it but will not run away with it. The Sox may still win despite Ozzie, not because of him. He has thrown his players under the bus before (Cabrerra, Ordonez, Jenks) and now he has no closer. He preaches defense and never has it. I am fed up with Ozzie not getting the most out of his talent. Ok enough rant on Ozzie, I am optimistic the Sox can compete in this division because they do have talented players.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 19, 2011 -> 07:36 AM) I'm not quitting on this team... it will be good. Jake, however, I'm done considering him a piece to worry about... he doesn't exist in my books. this

1. This seson so far has a feeling a lot like last year 2. Does this team need a new manager to wake up?

Putz and Jenks don't look so bad now.

I wonder what Bobby Jenks is thinking?

The bullpen,yikes!

Should Sox hit Felipe with pitch or not Sunday?
soxrwhite replied to greg775's topic in Pale Hose Talk
We lead the league in getting hit and are last in hitting others. Last year and so far this year. A.J. protects our pitchers? Our pitchers are supposed to protect our hitters. Hit back! Don't just be a punching bag! -

Send a clear message to the whole league. Hit the leadoff batter tomorrow. -
Lillibridge just plain beat him out. You knew they could not decide on one of them after the spring they both had so took then both instead of twelve pitchers. One of them was going to go sooner or later. Lillibridge just plain beat him out.

QUOTE (JohnCangelosi @ Apr 2, 2011 -> 04:34 AM) My bold prediction this year was that TCQ was going to spend the 2nd half of the season in the 3 hole and remain healthy all year. I know I am going to get flamed for this, but I think Oz should put him back into the 3 hole NOW. The argument of "taking the pressure off him" doesn't hold any water, BTW, as he's hit here before. Let's not mince words here, the swagger and bat flip is back, time to make the move and drop Rios down in the order... Pierre Beckham TCQ Dunn Konerko Rios Ramirez AJ Morel Let the flaming begin... Burn baby burn

Better get used to bashing our way to victory. Could be a very fun year. Lots of high scoring games for the opponents too!

QUOTE (Y2HH @ Mar 29, 2011 -> 08:17 AM) ...and we replace his yearly 220+ innings and decent ERA with whom, exactly? Clayton Richard or Gio Gonzales

He once started the All Star game. I don't think we will see that again. He has been declining for several years now even if the stats don't show it. Maybe he belongs in the bullpen soon.

What we have here is failure to communicate. A generation gap. With a new generation and a new gap. The older guys have been beaten into submission by time. The younger want it all now. So what's new?

If the Sox get rid of Hawk Harrelson and his tired old Mickey Mantle stories I will be a happy viewer.

Some sage wisdom in Tex's post, but all older fans were once younger fans. I enjoy games a little differently today than 30 yers ago, but no more or less. I wonder what Tex would have thought of his post when he was 19? I also wonder if milkman will write a similiar statement when he is Tex's age. Who cares! GO SOX!! Now and forever.

I don't want Marquez, but I don't see why we need both Milli and Lilli on the bench. Maybe the waiver wire can give us another pitcher......Silva?
-
This team only needs three things. Pitching, pitching and pitching. A number one starter is hard to find. Peavy is not even a starter. Verlander is a legitimate number one. A proven closer is also hard to find. Maybe Peavy, maybe Thornton, maybe Sale, maybe there should not be so many maybe's with a $125 million payroll.

The Millibridge battle has been fantastic. It's a coin toss as to who to keep, but the Sox don't need them both on the bench. I'd rather take another pitcher, but who? Maybe waiver wire.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Mar 24, 2011 -> 07:16 PM) No need for him to be busting his hump on grounders in spring training. I'd rather him pull up at 40% all Spring and have healthy legs for the entire year. How horrid would it be if he pulled a tendon or something before April! A player should always hustle.

Wins in regular and post season games. That is all I want to hear about Peavy.

Beurhle,Danks,Floyd,Jackson. Humber. Watch out American league!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 19, 2011 -> 05:46 PM) The only way he isn't in our rotation is injury. I wish you wouldn't have said that.......I'm sick of Peavy.

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Mar 20, 2011 -> 07:10 PM) First of all, his contract makes him impossible to "dump." Secondly, I suppose if we want to hurt his value and completely mindf*** him, we can do that. Rather mindf*** him than let him continue to mindf*** us.
