I'm just happy he went to Boston and not Detroit. We only play the Red Sox 6 times, so no big deal. And in terms of playoffs, the best team doesn't always win (far from it).

I talked to Kevin Briand who headed the Jays' Canadian scouting for 10 years about Lawrie, and he said he's a very arrogant kid. But he also said he plays hard and doesn't even consider failure as an option. I imagine he must have liked him because he's still with the Jays (Briand) as a professional scout, and I'm sure AA consulted him first. He's also 20 years old, so it's not surprising if he's a bit immature.
