Rosenthal in MLB tonight after the commercial break

Ken_Rosenthal #Nationals don't seem ready to budge. So, barring mystery team, hard to see Dunn deal. #WhiteSox can wait until Aug. - Alex Rios time. #MLB 24 minutes ago Ken_Rosenthal #WhiteSox saying, again, that they are out on Dunn. If that's true, Dunn could stay with #Nationals. #Rays only in at rt price (MORE) #MLB 28 minutes ago

A hawpe/Viciedo platoon is far better than a Jones/Kotsay.

I concur, a Viciedo/Hawpe platoon would be plenty effective. I would also like to make a plea not to trade EJax as well.

QUOTE (bucket-of-suck @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 10:59 PM) I am so OVAH Adam Dunn to the Sox. The Nats have priced themselves out of the trade market with Kenny. They are demanding Viciedo AND Jackson and Kenny ain't gonna do that. The Dunn deal is dead. As it should be. Kenny is targeting another big bat and this time tomorrow he's gonna have it. I agree I think Hawpe and Jackson are outatandig addtions.

Congrats and thanks Lucas, go out and celebrate a ballsy first ML win in the greatest city in the world. You deserve it.

I don't think the Sox trade Viciedo. He looks too legit, Hawk had said multiple time Beckham an Viciedo will be the faces of the franchise for a long time. I know Hawk is a homer but he has been around a long time and knows when a player has a chance to be great. I think Dunn would be great for us. But at this point I woul be upset, very upset if we trade EJax or Viciedo in the next few hours. Other than them have your pick, I know it's slim but too bad. I'd be plenty satisfied with a Brad Hawpe or Bautista who will cost much leas IMO.

QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 09:11 PM) That would be ass rape by Rizzo and the Nats. that's exactly what Rizzo wants from a team. To have them walking away head down and tail in between their legs. Like Rizzo has said, Dunn is too important to the fans, players, and staff in Washington. Rizzo loves to draft and i think he is fine with the picks if Dunn does walk.
-
Call me crazy, but i'm seeing tonights game as showcase game for the Nats. Rizzo made it clear Huddy wasn't what they were looking for (with him and Strasburg having injury prone wind ups). I could see KW saying pick any minor leaguer you have interest in and well show case him for you Friday. With Viciedo playing (yes I know against a lefty) and Santos coming in last inning to start the inning against a lefty with Threets warming. I could see a Viciedo 1B, Morel 2B (Guzman was traded), Harrel, D2, and/or Santos for Dunn with us keeping EJax. Sale moves into the bullpen in a few weeks. Granted this would be based on Dunn signing an extension. It's a lot but we know Rizzo wants a lot. For me Viciedo is UNTOUCHABLE the tank is legit

Ken_Rosenthal Deal is done. That is why Kearns was pulled off field. #Indians #Yankees #MLB 3 minutes ago
-
SI_JonHeyman source in TOR: #yankees on the verge of a trade for #indians OF austin kearns, removed from tonight's game for pinch runner. 4 minutes ago Why? They want Kearns and Berkman. Maybe a DH platoon for right handers and left handers?
-
That summarizes it. kW is fine keeping EJax or. Flipping him. They know how to fix him with coop. We are fine with him or including him for Dunn from reports.
-
Rizzo really is a douche.
-
Maybe so but he may be a filler that could be a 4 or a 5 in the NL
-
Two things; 1) who are some new GMs that have came into baseball the last year or so? That may give us insight in to who the surprise player may be. 2) I have a feeling, Harrell would be part of a Dunn deal. I think the Nats wanted to see him in the bigs to see what he has.

QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 06:03 PM) Yankees got Astros to send money back and won't be sending any good prospects. Berkman could have been had for NOTHING. Kenny better be working on something BIG. Olney: Heard this: The Astros are picking up a lot of the money owed to Lance Berkman in their agreement with the Yankees, and the NYY#trades Yankees won't be giving up any major prospects. we have to add another bat, or else Kenny would have gotten Laroche. The CSN beat reporter said coop was jumping up and down knowing he knew how to fix EJax.

The halos are 9 game out, I would absolutly love Matsui in the cell.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 05:26 PM) My guess would also be A-Gon. Or maybe it's not even a trade. Maybe he's trying to revive Ken Griffey Jr. Watch him pull off a trade for Joey Votto though. That would be amazing. The Padres are not trading AGon they are in first place and fans are finally starting to come back. They are not movig their hometown star player. I'm staying with Big Poppi.

QUOTE (SoxFan562004 @ Jul 30, 2010 -> 04:57 PM) yeah, anything short of him saying "we are absolutely not trading Dunn" from Rizzo means very little 22 hours away from the deadline, even that I would take with a slight grain of salt. Just trying to inform other people in what he was saying just in case they don't have the ability to watch the interview. Those were Rizzos words not mine.
-
His hands are not tied with Dunns contract, loves the guy and doesn't need to trade him and can hold out for a good package. Great clubhouse guy, fans love him. 3-4 teams have serious interest in him. Per Rizzo on MLb trade deadline special.
-
Mentioned they are looking for power on the corners, SP, and to solidfy their defense. Not necessarily in a Dunn deal.
