  1. It has been noted PV's velocity has been higher this spring compared to his previous yrs, lets hope that translates to an even more dominant year.
  2. QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Dec 16, 2012 -> 12:21 AM) This seems like a really risky move for the Jays. They are gambling that he can reproduce his 2012 season, at age 38, and in the AL East. I'm not betting on that happening. Well with Dickey being a knuckleballer i guess 38 years of age is not that huge of impact as we have seen guys pitch till mid-40s throwing the knuckleball. His ERA in the past 3 seasons have been very good, but definitely coming over to the AL might spike that ERA up a bit. But Toronto seem to be paying a big price by potentially dealing D'Arnaud and Syndergaard who are #1 and #3 ranked prospects respectively in the Jays organization.
  3. ‏@Joelsherman1 But right now it's Dickey/Thole/prospect (told not elite) for d/Arnaud/Syndegaard/Buck/prospect (told not elite) #Mets #Bluejays Looks like the Jays are about to add Dickey and the deal should come by Monday, that would make them favorites to win the AL and have one heck of a rotation probably the best in baseball.
  4. QUOTE (knightni @ Nov 16, 2012 -> 11:36 PM) Alex Anthopoulos is looking less and less smooth (J4L). That's way too much payroll for their fair-weather fan base to support. They can certainly support it, no question about that. The moves made by AA is somewhat contributed by the fans pressuring the ownership to spend.
  5. I wonder how content Buerhle is with pitching in Toronto, as we all recall he always had that stance of Chicago or St.Louis only, eventhough he ended up in Miami but with Ozzie.
  6. QUOTE (SI1020 @ Oct 12, 2012 -> 11:49 PM) On successive nights Verlander and Sabathia showed how a true ace pitches when it really counts. How is ace Verlander doing in the big game? Oh wait it's against a NL west team, let's dismiss any success associated with them.
  7. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 09:18 PM) Was the HBP intentional? You can't just miss due to command with someone as big as Flowers
  8. So Peavy still not in line to get a win despite giving up a lone hit.
  9. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Oct 2, 2012 -> 07:59 PM) I'm so glad Peavy is gone next season. I know he battled injury and such but he should sign a min contract with the SOX for all the money he jacked over the years. Dude s*** happens, this is sports and especially when you are a pitcher anytime can a muscle pop off and screw u up. We should be fortunate that he worked his tail off to get into the shape he is, heck a ton of ppl making that type of money wouldn't have bothered getting back to where Peavy has gotten back. Just respect that and move on.
  10. Peavy as a batter from the NL is better than these guys
  11. And to no one's surprise not a single pitch in the strike zone yet a K
  12. AJ practicing his golf swing for the offseason
  13. It just sucks that Rios and AJ have no patience at all. They could have certainly gotten on base if they just worked the count.
  14. These guys seem to be horrible 2-0 fastball hitters
  15. QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 25, 2012 -> 04:08 PM) Do you think our team does not match up well against any Central team except Minnie? What can the Sox do to better compete against the Central in the future? Just hope for the removal of divisional play and have even scheduling. That would do great things for the Sox.
  16. Dunn on his homer: "that was probably the most important in my career"
