  1. I'm guessing they have a handshake deal with Carroll to stay in the organization and be one of the first callups if needed.
  2. CNN has been reading it from the official grand jury report all morning.
  3. Blood trail shows Brown's farthest position away from Wilson being 20+ feet away from where he fell, spacing of blood trail shows speed. A good portion of the witness accounts back up the evidence.
  4. The forensics, backed up by some of the witnesses, is very clear that Brown charged Wilson for 20+ feet. In 99.999% of cases with such evidence, the officer is cleared and the case never even goes to a grand jury.
  5. Having four team divisions is the problem. When you have four team divisions, you are occasionally going to have terrible division winners.
  6. No, I don't want to live in a world where we expect prosecutors to zealously pursue indictments when a crime was clearly not committed.
  7. I think with any large corporation, even Walmart, there are differences between individual stores in how people are treated.
  8. Brown didn't have a gun, knew that Wilson had a gun, and charged him for 21 feet. In any other context, this is called "suicide by cop".
  9. I wasn't referencing any comment from August 18, I was referencing the physical evidence in the case. Brown didn't have a gun, knew that Wilson had a gun, and charged him for 21 feet. In any other context, this is called "suicide by cop". What I won't dispute is that there is a long history of terrible relations between law enforcement and the black community in Ferguson that led witnesses to either deliberately lie or just be delusional about what they saw, and for that reason Ferguson needs to own a lot of what happened last night, but in this specific case, Wilson got the outcome that he deserved, at least legally.
  10. Except that there is clear evidence that Brown moved 21 feet directly towards Wilson. Brown moving 21 feet towards Wilson, then kneeling down, and then Wilson firing is an entirely absurd chain of events.
  11. I would be willing to bet that if Illinois scored a touchdown to go up 11 on NW midway through the 4th quarter, Beckman would NOT be stupid enough to go for two.
  12. Everybody is going to embellish a little bit. It's human nature. What is a fact is that a kid who had already been shot managed to move 21 feet directly towards the officer. If I have a gun pointed at you and you move directly toward me 21 feet I am going to shoot.
  13. That's interesting, because Amazon has a million square foot distribution center here and I've never heard anybody complain about working conditions.
  14. The owners of the stores that were destroyed should sue the witnesses who flat-out lied about what happened, which was the #1 contributing factor to all this violence.
  15. I didn't even know there were people in Eastern Washington.
  16. I really think the next transaction, whether it be trade or signing, needs to be a starting pitcher.
  17. My uncle was a forensic chemist for the Army. He was sent to analyze evidence for and testify at a court martial for two soldiers accused of shooting and killing civilians in a foreign nation where the US had peacekeeping duties. A full dozen local residents testified under oath that the civilians were running away from the soldiers when they were shot. It took my uncle all of 15 minutes of analysis of the clothes and bodies of the victims to determine with 100% certainty that every single bullet entry was from the front. The soldiers were acquitted. People have no hesitations about lying under oath in order to try to gain a "win" for "their side." Unfortunately, in the case of Ferguson, an officer's life is now ruined because of these lies, even though he is not facing criminal charges.
  18. Yeah, we very rarely play anything in a casino other than poker.
  19. Hey, I played poker at that casino a couple times back in August during the protests.
  20. Not really political but relating to this topic, beginning in February my family will once again be a two-income family and we need to figure out how to get the best value in health insurance between our two employers. Anybody have experience/insight with this that they'd like to share. How much value is there in both people paying for insurance?
  21. Drinking game for tonight: Do a shot every time somebody misuses the term "verdict" when discussing the grand jury's decision.
  22. From cnn.com at 3:23 pm ET:
  23. I guess even with scores as common as 21 and 13, the exact combination of Bears 21, Opponent 13 is still pretty statistically unlikely, as would any specific score.
