  1. I know nothing about European club teams, but I root for Leverkusen because my Mom was a career Bayer employee.
  2. What is the age of the son? EDIT: Hey, maybe I should get better at reading. Now I see you said 14 month old. We were fortunate that both our kids were pretty good travelers when they were that little. We made sure they had their favorite toys and books (they like looking at books even though they were a long way from reading). At that age they napped a lot so we really didn't have too many problems.
  3. Yeah, it's hard for the SEC to keep their edge if it becomes legal for everybody else to do what they are already doing.
  4. There's covering up players cheating in classes, accepting money against NCAA rules, or smoking pot, and then there's covering up players doing hard drugs and/or committing violent felonies. The first group of players aren't likely to go on to be criminals, but the second group have serious problems that need to be addressed, and covering that up is doing them (and Odin Lloyd) a major disservice.
  5. If the SEC dished out real punishments, they wouldn't win the national championship every year. Of course their alumni also probably wouldn't go on to commit multiple homicides, but then by that point it's no longer their problem.
  6. espn.com lists Danks and Peavy as Saturday's starters.
  7. If he doesn't cover up everything Hernandez did at Florida, he never makes it to the Pats.
  8. Well, if they can actually target and eliminate stockpiles of chemical weapons with minimal casualties, that is a worthwhile goal no matter how despicable the rebels are.
  9. I don't remember what I ate (if anything) at Coors, but before the game I went to Wynkoop Brewing Company at 18th/Wynkoop. Pork Schnitzel and Rail Yard Ale are both fantastic.
  10. Well, yes, there reaches a point where that can be the case, but the original scumbag in question did not seem to be anywhere near that point with his wife, but was routinely cheating on her anyway. Also, once you've been with a person for long enough, in most cases you can make choices that determine whether or not you can stand to be in the same room with each other.
  11. Yeah, I don't care so much about the morality of infidelity or divorce, especially when there aren't kids involved. Once you have kids, it's overwhelmingly in the best interest of the kids (assuming one parent is not abusive or a criminal) for the parents to stay together. Making choices that lead away from that path are incredibly selfish.
  12. If he just got her pregnant and they were never really a couple, then the damage is already done. At that point banging lots of women doesn't really make things any worse.
  13. Yes, it does make them scum. Not scum to the level of men who abuse their wives physically and/or emotionally, but still scum. Cheating inevitably leads to divorce, and divorce is hell for the kids. He's intentionally choosing a course of action that is going to make his kids suffer in the long run.
  14. Pirates pick up Marlon Byrd and John Buck from the Mets.
  15. If that's the case then it doesn't seem that Russia and China have anything to gain by defending Syria.
  16. Is there not a point where enough people leave the country that it cripples their economy, and thus reduces incentive for China/Russia to keep helping them?
  17. So then what if we just sit there and let this continue for a while. Then what? Don't people start leaving Syria by the tens of thousands until the country is just about empty?
  18. OK, I get that Iran is crazy, but what do Russia and China have to gain by pushing back so hard in defense of a country that just used chemical weapons on its own civilians?
  19. As someone who is old enough to remember the UHF dial on televisions, I'm glad I didn't have to date in today's world. I was bad enough at it as it was, but throw in texting and Facebook and I'd have been even worse and it might have pushed me off the deep end.
  20. Probably. At ND, season tickets are restricted to students, faculty, and full-time staff above a certain level, so it's never anywhere near that figure.
  21. Kids who are 18 right now were 6 when Bush took office. They won't have any memories of Clinton.
  22. The Sox already know which of their own guys are lefty/righty/switch without needing the colors.
