  1. The Cubs have one starting pitcher who could crack the Sox rotation. Maybe 2 if you want to argue Jackson over Danks, but I'd still take Danks.
  2. The thread title is "Realistic Lineup", and realistically, this is going to be the lineup.
  3. vs RHP De Aza 7 Beckham 4 Dunn DH Viciedo 3 Garcia 9 Gillaspie 5 Ramirez 6 Danks 8 Phegley 2 vs LHP Beckham 4 De Aza 8 Viciedo 7 Dunn DH Garcia 9 Ramirez 6 Gillaspie 5 Phegley 2 Keppinger 3 Bench: Danks/Keppinger, Flowers, L Garcia, Morel SP: Sale, Santiago, Quintana, Danks, Rienzo/Johnson RP: Reed, Jones, Veal, Lindstrom, Leesman, Purcey, Axelrod
  4. Without looking up the few I'm not familiar with, none of those brother combos are pitcher-hitter, are they?
  5. Yeah, there aren't very many MLB brother combos that are a pitcher and a position player. Almost all of them are either both pitchers (Maddux, Niekro) or both position players (Upton, Boone)
  6. If your company is smart, they'll move to Indiana.
  7. Hillary is very intelligent but a backstabber. Bachmann is just ignorant. Not sure b**** is the right term for her but she's not somebody I want in charge nonetheless.
  8. I have no idea about fantasy football, but a real team would give up 32 and 49 for 24 and 64 every single time.
  9. Don't the Sox have every single left-handed starter there is? He would never have to face any of them.
  10. It doesn't sound like a lot, but the record for consecutive team games with a save is 6, held by Rod Beck (Cubs, 1998); Eric Gagne (Dodgers, 2003) and tied last night by Addison Reed. It takes a lot to get a streak this high: 1) The team has to win six games in a row 2) All six games have to be close enough to warrant a save opportunity 3) There has to be a day off on the schedule (none of the record holders pitched more than three consecutive days) 4) The closer has to actually convert all six saves Now that Reed has pitched 3 days in a row and 6 of the last 7, is there any chance Robin gives him a shot tonight if there is a save opportunity?
  11. You're probably not buying a cap at every game if you go to 10 games a summer unless you are unusually rough on your caps. Also, as somebody who used to live 10 miles from the Cell and now lives 300 miles away, I can tell you that my spending habits are very different based on the number of games attended. When I lived 10 miles away and went to 10+ games a year, I mostly bought $20 tickets, took public transportation, never bought beer, and only got one food item per game. Now that I live 300 miles away and go to 1-2 games a year, I buy $50 tickets, pay to park, have a beer and a couple food items per game.
  12. Yes, but that's a very long term commitment.
  13. Yeah, that was a typo. I know it because it's 7 days before mine. I always say that Maggs and JD are the dividing line between young and old.
  14. Maggs is my 2nd favorite Sox player born on 1/29/74.
  15. Somebody has waaay too much free time: https://twitter.com/sincecubsws
  16. I guess I didn't realize that hadn't happened already.
  17. Hot drunk chicks are worth seeing pretty much anywhere as far as I'm concerned.
  18. Well, Christie >>> McCain/Romney, plus with the added benefit of not having to go up against Obama.
  19. I think Christie is a lock to win the general if he can get past the primaries. Somebody needs to convince right-win Republican voters that one of "their guys" has zero chance at getting elected and if they don't go along with Christie they are handing the election to Hillary.
  20. If he pitches on Halfway to St. Patrick's Day, he could be Andre "The Jolly Green Giant" Rienzo.
  21. Go to Bristol a couple days early and take in a NASCAR race.
  22. Not to be confused with all those freshmen who have 2-3 years of varsity experience.
  23. Apparently, it is L Garcia: https://twitter.com/PhoenixBats/status/370565034620899328
  24. Don't see L Garcia getting much playing time if he comes up. I'd think the Sox would want to continue to carry 5 OF so Viciedo can DH on days off for Konerko/Dunn, but bringing up Mitchell doesn't make much sense, so I have no idea. Maybe they go with an extra pitcher for the next 10 days until rosters expand.
