  1. He's played 144+ games in 4 of the last 5 seasons. Also, I don't care what position he plays. He's a far better hitter than anybody else that is currently or potentially will be on this team. He's a guy you move others around in order to fit.
  2. If I had to give up one of DVR/HD, I think I'd have to give up HD, but it's a close decision.
  3. Wait, shortstops are allowed to draw walks????
  4. To say that Choo will cost to much is one thing, but to say that you don't want him at all is asinine. His bat is exactly what the Sox need.
  5. Juan's last three years with the Sox he put up OPS of 698, 678, and 682. He has one amazing year about every five years with lots of sucking in between.
  6. Most of the time, when teams center the ball before attempting a field goal, they have a timeout that they use after the clock runs down to 3-4 seconds. You don't often see teams center the ball with the intent of spiking it on the next play. There is some risk involved, as we saw with this play. That doesn't change the fact that the refs screwed up by not letting the offense get another snap off when they had plenty of time, but the situation could have been avoided.
  7. As much as I hate to take Michigan's side in anything, that last play, while obviously pass interference, is almost never called. Akron's 3rd down play call was terrible.
  8. FYI: I know the guy who wrote both the Ohio State and Oklahoma State stories. He was my editor when I worked for my college newspaper.
  9. Facebook yes, Twitter no. I have FB because I've moved around a lot and have a lot of freinds far away that I can keep in touch with. I don't use Twitter because everything you post is much more public. With FB I have more control over who sees what. My wife has Twitter though so my best one-liners end up on there via her.
  10. OK, fewer guns = fewer homicides, but does more gun laws = fewer guns?
  11. They're a morning drive show. The expectation is that the average commuter is only listening to them for 20-30 minutes, and then they try to catch the commuters in other time zones.
  12. Tigers fans also tend to be Wolverine and/or Red Wings fans, so they can all go f*** themselves!

    September 11

My dad didn't find out until about 4 hours after it happened. He was golfing, and according to the golf pro, his group was the last group to leave the clubhouse for the first tee before ABC News broke into ESPN programming. Normally, they would have gone into the clubhouse after the 9th hole to get snacks, but they came upon a really slow group at about the 7th hole. The slow group never let them play through, so when that group hit the clubhouse between nines, my dad's group went straight over to the 10th tee to get ahead of them. Not until they finished up their round and went into the clubhouse did they ever hear of anything going on.
  14. You started this thread in the morning, so I assumed this was a getaway day game, and that I was going to have something to entertain me at work this afternoon. Thanks a lot, jackass!
  15. That is exactly why Dunn should be batting in front of your best hitters and not behind them. He is likely to take a walk and be a baserunner to be driven in, and he is unlikely to GIDP and rob your best hitters of a chance to hit with men on base.
  16. I love Mike & Mike. I've been listening to/watching them for 13 years.
  17. I hear the Republicans are pushing a bill that redefines a foot as 13 inches.
  18. Nice that they get a day off to travel from Los Angeles to Anaheim. I guess MLB understands how bad traffic on the 405 can get.
  19. There are a lot of 16-game stretches that don't include the Astros or Twins.
  20. At least there's one weekend home series against Detroit next year.
