2016 Republican Thread
In terms of trustworthiness and "acting Presidential" he is by far the best of the field. He still has plenty of policy flaws, but probably fewer than the others. I really want to take bits and pieces of all seven of them (yes, even Trump and Hillary) to combine into one President.

2016 MLB catch all thread
One more rule I'd like to see: Relief pitchers must either face a minimum of two batters or finish an inning. That would help cut back on the number of commercial breaks for pitching changes.

"Free College"
I mean programs as a whole. If your overall revenue can't support all of the sports, then don't have sports. Very few athletic programs are self-sufficient.

Fowler Signs with Cubs
So we should start talking more about strippers then?

Fowler Signs with Cubs
Technically, they didn't regain one of the picks they lost by signing other free agents.

Not sure whether or not you intended this, but it seems like quite a slam on Detroit.

I'm in the same boat exactly. I wish one of the moderate candidates had his integrity.

2016 Democratic Thread
I like Sanders because 1) he has integrity that pretty much every other candidate lacks and 2) he's willing to go after Wall Street in the way that no other candidate will If the rest of his positions weren't so far out there, I'd consider voting for him. As it stands, I wouldn't hate him becoming President because Congress would block all of the bizarre stuff he wants to do.

"Free College"
I agree. Any college whose sports programs can't support themselves shouldn't have them.

Not just a booster, but a member of the board of trustees, but then this is the same school that currently employs Bobby Petrino and Rick Pitino, so is anybody surprised?

Last time Cantore came within 15 miles of where I live, an F-4 tornado killed 13 people.

Weather Channel has a reporter live in Michigan City. You are officially screwed.

Antonin Scalia passes away
Republicans would be stupid not to take him. They have to realize Hillary is a huge favorite to win. They're probably dumb enough to think that the carrot of a SC seat will be enough to swing the election their way.

The Winter/Spring Weather Complaint Thread
Looking at this storm on the radar and a single low pressure system is causing precipitation from Arkansas all the way up to New Brunswick, including blizzard warnings in IL/IN and tornado warnings in VA at the same time. Only rain here so far, but a ton of it, and it is expected to get cold enough to turn to snow sometime between 6pm and midnight.

Everybody except Bernie is running on racist platform. Trump just isn't trying to disguise it.

2016 Republican Thread
The one reason I think this might go against historical trends is that there is so much anti-Trump sentiment that Cruz/Rubio/Kasich might all stay in longer than they normally would just to keep Trump from getting to 50% of the delegates and thus pushing the decision to the convention. Normally, the other candidates would not hate the front-runner so much that their resistance would fade once one guy has won 3 of the first 4 contests.

2016 Republican Thread
Hurt. I think the number of far right voters who stay home/vote for a 3rd party >> the number of moderate/independent voters who pick Trump over Hillary due to a Democratic running mate.

OF Options
One thing I want to point out--Sox are already committed for 3+ years to Melky and Eaton. If you lock up another OF right now, you are out of the market for any OF available by trade or FA after the 2016 season. Maybe, once they didn't get Gordon/Cespedes, they decided they like what may be available in a year better than Fowler or Jackson. You can't sign Fowler for 3/$35 and then go and sign somebody else in a year.

Antonin Scalia passes away
Probably the same thing the sitting VP should have thought about when he said basically the same thing back in 1992, and similar to what the sitting President said in 2008. They didn't seem to worried about it then.

I knew the first girl very well. There's no way she was lying about it. In fact, at the time she told me about it, she still thought she was pregnant. It took two OTC pregnancy tests and a visit to a non-PP clinic to convince her that she wasn't. The second girl I didn't know very well. Can't speak to her motives.
-
2016 Democratic Thread
Just to be clear, the "4 days after missed period" was only the first girl. She was very naive about a bunch of things and really thought she was pregnant. The second woman knew she wasn't pregnant. Their motive to lie is pretty much everybody's #1 motive to lie: $$$. I'd imagine there's a nice profit on an abortion if you can charge somebody for one and not actually have to do one.

This was 16 years ago before camera phones were common. Not sure if they would dare try the same thing today.
